What a race it was 🔥🔥🔥
I was really pulling for Ilott - really sucked to see him spin out into the gravel trap. Hopefully he and the team will improve and get the attention of some of the mid-level teams.
As for the whole Grosjean/Rahal incident... I think it's safe to assume that Romain is not gonna be on Graham's Christmas card list this year.

I could see Palou winning the series again without winning a single race. I know James is an Ericsson fan, but Palou coming in and winning the series in his 2nd year (1st with Ganassi) doesn't make Ericsson look too good!

I don’t doubt Palou is an excellent driver! I think his consistency is second to none. I just hope Ericsson isn’t gonna have another season like 2021 (most points gained out of anyone after the 500, but the championship already out of sight by then). Saint Pete and Barber were unlucky and I still feel pain about Long beach but I’m sure it’ll come together in the end for Ericsson.

Romain was a bit aggressive this weekend, but I like whenever anyone ruffles Rahal's feathers as I don't like Graham. Also, McLaughlin's reference of a "Truli train," was another classic interview moment.
I feel that graham’s postrace comments were somewhat justified. I agree that the second contact was also an accident, but regardless it was clumsy from Grosjean. And I think Romain knows it too, he backed off his comments a lot in his interview. Race control shouldn’t be involved. The drivers can handle themselves alone.
I don't believe Grosjean "PURPOSELY" drove in to Rahal, that's why they didn't penalize Grosjean.
Completely agree with the comments about Rahal, his comments about Romain after the race weren't a good look, also saying he will punt him off in future, if understand if romain was a back marker in the way but he's outperformed rahal in every field since he came to Indycar😅
Tbh rahal just seems a bit pissed that the new f1 kid is outperforming him
As a Scottie fan, he didn't have a great race car under him, only ok, good for quali,... but held on for a solid 6th points pay....
Penske lacked track testing time,...big mistake there I thought.
As for Ilot, I'm pretty impressed with this young guy and I'm going to pay more attention. Can't be easy doing it the way he is, but if you want to mature fast this is the way!....He keeps this up and he'll be head hunted by a major team for sure.
There's no doubting your fandom for Scotty Mac, you seem pretty enthusiastic about the guy in a lot of your comments (I do notice haha) As for ilott, he has heaps of potential, especially after watching his 2020 F2 season where he got the better of mick Schumacher 9 times out of 10, was just plagued by silly errors and reliability!

The racing is full on and off the charts competitive, best on the planet atm imo.
I was really rooting for Rinus but Pato is my second favourite driver so I'm definitely alright with the result
I heard a lot of radio chatter of bad audio issues from those outside North America but watching on NBC we had no issues here.
You’re so lucky! It sounded like they were talking on walkie-talkies for most of the race. We eventually had the Sky Sports f1 commentator doing parts because of how bad it got

Roman Grosjean is annoying me a bit.
Completely disagree I believe Rahal is absolutely in the right. since he's been racing grosjean is making passes in places you don't make passes. some would say it's because of his talent but he's often cutting people off and just being dangerous. I think of gateway last year and road America last year where passes where made that you shouldn't make. Cuz he was often leaning on the other car to do them. The man acts like he has bumper cars and honestly I'm sick of it now. This race was the last straw for me and I am now an anti grosjean fan. Think he is an ass on the track and I think there is a reason most other drivers in the series do not like him.
Yep, point taken, I agree, he needs to be sat down before this may get out of control, respect and duty of care is essential between combatants out there at those speeds, people can die besides you spoil the racing and somebody else's reasonable opportunities.
I'm off the wagon now myself until I know they've sorted him out and he apologises.
