Why Spend Money in Video Games? - Glad You Asked S1
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 7 окт 2019
- Glad You Asked host Alex Clark has been a gamer for most of his life. And in all his years of playing, he's spent a great deal of money buying and selling virtual items in video games. He’s not alone -- billions of dollars are spent inside the virtual economies of video games. So why spend money on a virtual good? And how did they become so valuable?

From my 5500h on TES V alone, I am seriously offended by that statement. Nobody can be the Last Dragonborn only 7 hours per week. You either are Dragonborn even "offline" or you are no Dragonborn at all.

I've been a gamer since the original Warcraft. I played a bit of wow, got to the level of my actual age which at the time was 22, did this in two separate factions, but realised pretty quickly how it was a waste of time "grinding away at the game" levelling up in the virtual world while in the real world I wasn't levelling up as much as I could be.. so it helped me to choose which is more important and to pursue it with more focus than ever before. A couple years later I'm engaged to get married, I earned a black belt in Karate, I got a new car, earned 30k in savings, levelled up in a career attaining references and real life skills that help me survive without mum or dad around.. need I go on? I could still be playing wow, i'm 32 now so that's 10yrs later and I can tell you.. I'm glad I don't! Now don't get me wrong, I still play games, currently it's Northgard because I miss genuine RTS titles like the original two Warcraft games which have been foregone by people buying into these black holes like WOW and CS-GO, but just like WC 1&2 and the original C&C's up until Generals and not to mention COH, Northgard has it where it counts, it takes lots of skill, realistic strategy and time to master the intricacies rather than money and time performing meaningless tasks over and over like you're a robot. Now sssure, I can attest to how immersive the whole world of warcraft is in game and to this day I can attest to how much more cozy it is to be in such an immersive in game world rather than dealing with the struggles of actual life, but with that you're also missing out on a lot of awesome and a great deal of real benefits that will last longer than your eye-sight etc etc, all of which has a finite life-span whilst you hunch over a desk staring into the screen. So in conclusion: Make the choice sooner than later to get fit, healthy and balance out your hobbies to enjoy a full life that's as good for you as it is for others and future generations, that means a bare minimum of 10minutes sun a day! some time bare foot on the earth (not asphalt), a minimum of 10minutes fast paced walking, minimum of 10 push ups and sit ups a day and i'll leave the rest for you to discover and tune into. Goodluck fellow gamers.

"This is the most expensive virtual item ever sold, at $10,000", proceeds to show $61,000 dragon lore
Maybe he was referring to the fact that the items was sold for $10,000 dollars, where the seller could just cash out that money from the auction house. The Dragon Lore can't be converted into physical money through steams marketplace, even though that transaction of $61k wasn't done on steam. I don't know, such a strange script :/

@@iamevil8582 that's a terrible argument. Drugs have serious health effects and can more often than not ruin someone's life. If instead of doing drugs people did something productive or found a productive hobby, then they will feel much more fulfilled.
