I'm not good at summing things up but I tried to turn this into a standardized recipe for anyone reading the comments. Ingredients - Warm Whipping cream - 100g Coca powder - 20g Milk - 550g Sugar - 60g Corn Starch - 27g Dark Chocolate - 100g (you can substitute Teflon sheets with parchment paper) 1. Put 100g Warm Whipping Cream in a bowl, sift the 20g cocoa powder into it. 2. Whisk with egg beater 3. In a separate bowl, add 550g milk,60g white sugar and 27g cornstarch. 4. Add cocoa powder mixture to the other bowl. 5. Whisk it with egg beater until it looks like chocolate milk. 6. Sift it into a pot and bring it to a boil while stirring over low heat. 7. Add the dark chocolate and keep stirring, if it becomes too thick, turn off the fire and remove pot from heat. 8. Sift the mixture into a mold covered with Teflon sheets 9. Pour slowly, if poured to fast, it may overflow 10. Cool at room temperature and refrigerate for at least 6 hours. 11. Cut off the excess Teflon that protrude upwards with scissors to the height of the mold so the plate can be completely closed. 12. Use Plate and place it on the Mold and turn it upside down so the plate is on the table. 13. Remove the mold and be careful while removing the Teflon sheet as the mousse is quite soft. 14. Optional - Gently sprinkle cocoa powder

@@shazialalljee6650 I didn't make any changes... I found the tricky part was knowing when to take the chocolate/cream mixture off the boil. I boiled it until I got a fairly thick consistency and then let it cool in the fridge for about 5 hours (the video says 6 hours which is a while!)

Luckily I've been on my diet for almost two weeks and come to this to for some reason knowing I'll be tempted lol. Great to see food being made also from scratch. With a strong mind and your goal in mind, the diet will last as long as you need.

Also the chocolate note was strong, but it might be because of the products that I used. I'd recommend to not use a cake mould. It's possible to cut the mousse in pieces but there's no way to put them on a plate without destroying them.

Vira Vir it tastes INCREDIBLE but isn’t as firm as I would like it to be. Probably because I swapped out milk for almond milk. Hopeful that increasing the corn starch next time would fix it
@@codruttoader7066 I'm curious, did you measure everything in grams like they did in this recipe? If not, that could be part of the issue. It could also have been an issue with the cornstarch as well. If the liquid doesn't get hot enough then the thickening agent won't have a chance to activate fully.
@@kctrent7626 - It wasn't whipped cream; just warm cream, to dissolve the cocoa powder. Besides, if you really really want whipped cream, you can probably fold some in after the stuff has cooled a little, OR you can top the individual portions with it at serving.
I tried to do it. the consistency was a little stiff. however, the total cocoa ratio is very high. it gives a lot of energy when you eat too much. you want to run, play sports, spend energy.

I don't think it's going to work. How it's being prepared is a pudding. I think the heat would destroy any of the texture in the whipped cream... It might have a better outcome, if the milk mixture was heated then chilled to a point that the whipped cream could still retain it's shape when folded into the chilled mix.
I actually made this pudding/mousse yestedray and it's absolutely DELICIOUS. I added some extra chocolate in it and it turned out really good, plus the recipe is simple and quick. Even my dad liked it 😆

This is chocolate pudding, not chocolate mousse. I made this last year using Nigella Lawson's recipe, which is almost exactly the same as this one. This really isn't mousse, but I am glad there is at least one recipe on this channel that doesn't use gelatin.
@@MichaelEavesMusic actually, there is a recipe for chocolate mousse, that uses gelatin instead of eggs. Gives a much lighter texture. Reccomend trying it
I would still make it and eat it though, and it would still be good with a biscuit base, one can use whipped cream as the thickener and to fluff the chocolate up, you can use gelatin - though it could then be called panna cotta - I would still eat it. You can use eggs. Eggs take it to another level, moose is often made in restaurants (good ones) using eggs. I would eat it, this way and that way .....it is smooth chocolate stuff, that's all that counts.
This video is extremely unsettling for me, it's like, satisfying and everything, but idk, it feels to perfect, like a massive feeling of dread, very scary

Are you referring to Danette’s? It’s also a french dessert but unlike a chocolate mousse it has no air, so kind of like what the dish is in the dessert but a bit more liquid.

Vira Vir it tastes INCREDIBLE but isn’t as firm as I would like it to be. Probably because I swapped out milk for almond milk. Hopeful that increasing the corn starch next time would fix it

@@codruttoader7066 I'm curious, did you measure everything in grams like they did in this recipe? If not, that could be part of the issue. It could also have been an issue with the cornstarch as well. If the liquid doesn't get hot enough then the thickening agent won't have a chance to activate fully.

@@kctrent7626 - It wasn't whipped cream; just warm cream, to dissolve the cocoa powder. Besides, if you really really want whipped cream, you can probably fold some in after the stuff has cooled a little, OR you can top the individual portions with it at serving.

I tried to do it. the consistency was a little stiff. however, the total cocoa ratio is very high. it gives a lot of energy when you eat too much. you want to run, play sports, spend energy.

We saying "Chocolate Pudding" to this in turkey, but You can say "Mousse Cake" also look very tasty.
Same for here in Austria, and also Germany, we call it Pudding too and there's powder mixes of the dry ingredients you can buy at stores
we have chocolate pudding too in america/ canada but its a different texture from mousse. mousse is fluffier, pudding is more liquid.

I don't think it's going to work. How it's being prepared is a pudding. I think the heat would destroy any of the texture in the whipped cream...
It might have a better outcome, if the milk mixture was heated then chilled to a point that the whipped cream could still retain it's shape when folded into the chilled mix.

This is chocolate pudding, not chocolate mousse. I made this last year using Nigella Lawson's recipe, which is almost exactly the same as this one. This really isn't mousse, but I am glad there is at least one recipe on this channel that doesn't use gelatin.

idk of any chocolate mousse that requires cornstarch.... The title is also misleading, you dont bake or put gelatin in a mousse.

I would still make it and eat it though, and it would still be good with a biscuit base, one can use whipped cream as the thickener and to fluff the chocolate up, you can use gelatin - though it could then be called panna cotta - I would still eat it. You can use eggs. Eggs take it to another level, moose is often made in restaurants (good ones) using eggs. I would eat it, this way and that way .....it is smooth chocolate stuff, that's all that counts.
