Could you please tell me what woodchipper / shredder you use ? You do not need to sieve the chips because of larger pieces . They course problem in our system ! Thanks for your reaction . Greetings from the Netherlands
4) So if they were still using oil, and paying 33,000 pounds annually for it, this would represent not only a direct drain of 20,000 pounds for the owner (the difference between the cost of woodchips and oil) and ultimately the owner's patrons, but a million pounds of decreased value to the community. On that basis, the relatively tiny amount of 40,000 pounds made once, invested by the community for an annual return of 1 million pounds of avoided cost, was a brilliant investment.
@yakyakyak69 well put. subsidies only benefit a select few don't they. our local pig farms ad cash croppers get nice subsidies and my grocery bill still get bigger. lol
well said only you missed a part... the tax incentive does not decrease the cost of the product. Because businesses price their products as high as the market will allow, a government subsidy lets them price their product higher than the market would normally allow. In the end, this means that the public has to pay higher taxes AND the product itself is more expensive. The only side that benefits is the business who now realizes increased profits. Another way the rich get richer.
1) When they burn woodchips, the 12,000 pounds paid annually for heating circulates in the local economy, making everyone in the area wealthier by what is paid multiplied by the number of hands through which it passes multiplied by their average margin. People staying with them contribute 1/4 the price (and lower amounts for margin) for heating that they would if oil heated, making their premises more affordable, and apparently, more comfortable.
MrHighlandbirchwoods: While you burn the wood chips, you can use the exhaust to run electrical generator. With the rate of wood chips you burn, I guess that enough to run the 20K generator. So you can have more heat from generator coolant and electricity for your Hotel.
5) And of course, the benefits of being able to afford to use a listed building, preserving its cultural and embedded value is great; while the reduction in fossil CO2 being returned to the environment where it would contribute to the multi-trillion dollar cost imposed on everyone by global warming is enormously valuable too.
3) In other words, if money circulates through a community 300 times (typical rural velocity of money, urban and ecommerce velocities are typically much higher) annually at a 10% margin, then money off-shored effectively impoverishes the community from whence it is extracted by some 30 times the value off-shored.
Billy, the amount of wood chips they consumed as showed in this video would probably run the 20K generator. With little conversion, they can change this "burner" into a bio gas maker with the heat exchange inside. There are practical 5K, 10K generators running on wood chips that consume way less than what showed in this video.
LOL. FU and the high horse you ride in on. You ASSUME they are "wealthy". Did you not listen to the video? They have an old shitty inefficient large house that is "listed" meaning historic and can't be touched. They provide services for at the very LEAST, weddings. This means they are in BUSINESS. They can't just willy nilly sit in an old rotting house and pay through the nose to heat it. What is wrong with being wealthy anyway? Doesn't EVERYONE aspire to be wealthy?
Dude...get a Fresnel lens to boil your water.. you don't even need the wood chips. In fact you can get all the hot water you want from 1000 ft of black pipe with water running through it and store the hot water in tanks to heat the house at night..
2) If they were burning 58,000 litres of oil annually, the entire cost, 33,000 pounds, would simply left the economy, not only costing them and their clients money, but removing that capital from the community and so preventing its reinvestment as it passes through other hands, to enrich the entire affected community and region.
"Slightly bigger than the average home" with 44 bedrooms & 18 baths? What the hell? You are joking, right? The problem is people living in homes like this and using all that energy to heat them with 58,000L of oil per year. Then, they only use about 25% of the home. The rest is a total waste to fuel your ego. If you just get the law changed and install energy efficient double or triple pane windows, you would reduce your energy consumption substantially. Insulate the attic as well with foam.
My thoughts exactly, why heat that size house for two people ? Seems a complete waste of time money and effort, if they downsized to four or five rooms in might make some sense, that would allow using less resources . I’m not impressed .
To destroy forests in order to make wood chips/pellets is insane.Forests should be left to grow for centuries,Trees downed by stroms or taken from nearbylots ffrom homes is way better, Pellets & the leaves can make great kitty litter ,,too.& when they are dumped the catbpon stays under ground or they can then be dried & the poop burned too,..
So sad the the poor people can do nothing but collect their social benefits and sit on their backsides drinking, smoking and doing nothing, except of course criticising smart active people who have the ability to make the money and pay the taxes top the poor.
No, these partnerships are not the reason of higher taxes. The cost of using the service is borne exclusively by the users of the service and not by the taxpayer. Believe me, if the public-private partnerships did not exist, than the taxes would be a lot higher. Really a lot higher! If it didn't exist now, in this worldwide finan. crisis, than we would all be in serious problems. So, your "social-fascist" explanation really doesn't make any sense. Where did you read something silly like that?!
there is plenty of wood scraps and waste here in the forests of usa but they won't let the public pick it up. its a shame. Nice setup

What kind of chipper is that? I am looking for something that makes coarse chips like that.

What do they mean by "listed"? I live in Canada and here they encourage you to make your dwelling more energy efficient.

@emigrantgap Water will hold it's heat for a week if it's in a well insulated tank.
Nice pile 0:52 - 1:21
now there's a mouthful of truth~!
the spiker (girl) is GOOD ^.^
A grant for A means more tax from B!The money comes from someone!
@omegafile and on cloudy days? which its usually is when its cold. Dude, light up another!

running 20k generator instead would mean burning 40 pounds more wood chips/hour... not really very cost efficient unless electricity costs honey
so happy that the rich people saved so much money.

taking from the poor to give to the rich
@kindrixxx Not fond of the ladies, I see. I don't judge, my friend. I don't judge.
Can you verify this comment? I seriously doubt if the exhaust would run a 20K generator..
