I think it'd be cool if we got a "Salvaged" theme for the new third kits. Like a Wasabi Shot which had it's inktank and nozzle switched out with the Kensa Shot, or a ELiter made of rusted, retro styled gas pump parts. Dualie Squelcher made out of a broken-in-half Dual Squelcher that has it's paint chipped off, giving it a more silver appearence. Know this isn't really related to the actual kits, but the style of a weapon is important too! ^-^

Would be cool if they gave these “retro” weapons some kind of 80s aesthetic, i feel like there’s been this great trend of using the 80s aesthetic and music in splatoon games (Octo expansion being a great example) and it would be super cool to have weapons that had a neon glow or something. It would be different to what I think your suggesting (splatoon 1 kits/designs) but it would look super cool

One thing I’d really like to see is a squiffer with zipcaster. I think it would be so cool for trick shots or cool grapple plays. Plus with squiffer having full charge speed in the air it would work perfectly

Question, wouldn't this make it a slower kill time than the other three (two?) Zipcaster sets we have already? The fastest kill that it could potentially do is a direct then a tap shot. I know it's cool to do trick shots and all, but I don't think it would benefit the playstyle, especially with Zipcaster being predictable at times.

3:48 YES! As someone who mained the Kensa Pro in the previous game, I miss this thing and want it back. Even just the splat bombs alone would make a huge difference, for as it is whenever I use the splatoon 3 edition of the splattershot pro, I'm sending out angle shooters while expecting a splat bomb to come out 😂😭
Undercover Brella NEEDS torpedo and wave breaker! I miss the Kunder kit and I think that would be the best way to relive that experience

I'd argue Big Bubbler would fit better for the Kunder, since it would fit that "Give you as many things as possible to shoot before you can shoot me" playstyle it had in 2.
@@evilyoshimaster Yeah I think that could work too. My thought process behind wave breaker is that it can help you get assists which will bring back your shield the way ink armor did in the last game. I always thought it was cool to have a special that did that.

Splat brella with zipcaster and burst bomb would be insanely fun. But i can also see angle shooter working (if it gets buffed) due to its low ink consumption and combo potential.
Ngl yeah zip splat brella sounds hella fun. You get up close but still are protected with your canopy and as said in the video zip makes use of you ink tank aka main saver which brella uses anyway for holding shield to get more mileage
You get to close the distance with backlines and when things get dicey just hold shield and eventually you’ll run out of ink!
I’ve been playing Splatana alot, and 65% of the time when I’m using the wiper I think “this weapon needs curling bomb”. I feel like it would provide a needed much better approach, even if it would sacrifice alot of combo potential some other subs could give it. As for special, I don’t think it’s as likely with it being on Stamper, it’s fast charge time and need for an approach tool make Zipcaster a perfect fit.
Wiper should have just gotten stampers kit and stamper should have gotten something else
Imo a better sub for it would be something like fizzy: it gives wiper the same kind of mobility benefits but also helps it combo with the main weapon from a distance with the vertical slash.
Nah i disagree the charged slashes can act like curling bombs and it would prefer a throwable bomb

Edit: as a Dapples main, Splat Bomb + Inkjet would be heaven, as I mained Enperrys in Sploon 2.

I think Toxic Mist would be really interesting for one of the Rollers. It's something none of the Rollers have had and it could create cool openings for kills. Toxic Mist also prevents opponents from immediately following the Roller and taking them out. The special to go along with that is more up in the air but the combo of Toxic Mist + Roller just sounds so enticing to me.
I like the support blob, but we kind of already have that in the zone control kit it currently has. As a blob main, i would love to se blob with a wall and vac for pressure while pushing, especially in rainmaker and clams.
An idea I had for a Rapid Pro set was to give it a weird Aggro/Support kit in Angle Shooter/Big Bubbler. It would be able to use AS to combo with it and a direct shot from the main gun all while being at a distance, and then it can use the Bubbler for support to help get teammates in or hold an area for a period of time while also protecting yourself in a fight when you want to play more aggressive.
I’m all for the weird niche kits and this eliter would be super fun to master. I think they should give more weapons specials that don’t suit they’re normal play style to create some variation in weapon roles for a certain main weapon. They do this to an extent already but I think they can take it further without having to sacrifice a kits viability.
I loved the Aerospray burst/booyah combo, it was so nice and allowed you to be incredibly aggressive, while also having more of a winning chance, not saying its current kit in 3 is bad, I just enjoyed the Splatoon 2 one more.
Didnt think you'd win me over with zipcaster eliter but actually it sounds really funny. Personally as an eliter main I think crab and angle shooter would be my ideal kit

I feel like for inkbrush, torpedo should be there as inkbrush is a slayer type weapon, and by using torpedo behind your opponent, you can splat them by the fact that two separate sources of damage they would have to pay attention to, and since inkbrush is a close range weapon, you could throw torpedo to get enemies from high spots. I also like the killer wail for the inkbrush because you can move around an enemy with it and splat them that way.
Ahh, I love see how you explain combos, weapons and tactics for minutes, more of this please.
As an L3 user, I feel like it'd make sense that putting the Dolphin sticker on it also gives it a dolphin-like special, like Reefslider.
Your Ballpoint kit is the exact one I’ve wanted added since launch! I really hope that one gets in. Also I love the idea of Trizooka on Nautilus and my biggest hope for 79 is getting succ / trizooka on Naut.

I'd actually like to see a luna that has big bubbler on it. I feel like the protection is helpful for zones and tower while also perfect to hide in while melting anyone who tries to ink your base in turf or keeping your teammates in the action. But I miss fizzy bomb on my Luna so much... the vanilla ink bombs ain't bad they're just... not fizzy bombs.
BB on luna would be super cool! If I could have any kit it'd be fizzy with booyah but a kit with torpedo and BB would be a fresh take on the weapon I'd probably enjoy more.

My thoughts on splat charger as someone who one-tricks it: the splash wall is classic of course so no comment there. Inkstrike is interesting as a substitute for bomb rush, and i think it works, though i could also see it getting maybe a booyah bomb for similar displacement/support, and would be nice to have for survivability when getting rushed down. Position-wise though, i would agree inkstrike makes more sense. Alternatively, crab tank would be great for the position splat charger takes a lot, and wail would be a nice reference to past kits. I cant really see many other specials working for it apart from those, and honestly i'd be fine with any of the 4

Zip is great at being able to pressure backlines, which liter already does quite well imo, and being able to get new angles seems great, but in reality as a charger player, you'll likely already be in a good sniping spot with good angles a majority of the time. The current maps generally dont have incredible inaccessible sniping spots that would be a lot better than where you would normally position yourself when running liter (save for maybe mincemeat). Even the spots shown in the video would not provide many better angles than what the liter could already target, and even for the angles it does provide, a displacement special would be better used imo.
About the number of shots, i would say you could get 3, maybe 4 shots while running the common amount of main saver, which iirc brings you up to 5 on a full tank. I would agree that its a decent number of shots, but i believe it wouldnt provide enough pressure over that period of time to make it super worth it, especially when compared to the threat of a close range weapon using zip. Finally, on e-liter, using zip to escape from an enemy is just...kinda not great LMAO. The situations where this is happening would be
1. They're so far into your base that they've reached your perch, in which case you shouldnt even be there, and should have repositioned a long while ago (plus if youre in your base, you can just pressure from there)
2. They've flanked you, which is not super likely based on the current map layouts. Even still, lets say they did, it's a whole other story whether your teammates can come back from either the frontline or from base in time to help you, then win the 1v1 for you to survive
3. You, as an e-liter, are so far out of your position away from the backline that you need the special to escape
Of course, i one-trick a different charger, having only around 450 wins with liter in splatoon 2, but i still strongly feel that because of these reasons, zip would just be terrible on liter. Overall, it wouldnt feel as impactful and thus less fun compared to using zipcaster on an aggressive weapon, and i just think that it wouldnt do great on non-aggressive weapons at all. Just imagine it on something like a tri-stringer or a hydra...
Anyways zip was a great choice for the squiffer in my eyes, but i cant ever see it being run on e-liter. Thank you for reading and i hope it wasnt too long of a take lol
Yeah I heavily agree zipcaster on e-liter would be a terrible idea. People immediately think of grappling hook Widowmaker, but they dont take into account Splatoons drastically different map design and the e liters slow charge time for each shot.
If anything all the pressure would be gone since you would be giving up your sniper spot to use zipcaster for a worse angle as you mentioned earlier.
Squiffer and maybe bambo would be the best choice for zipcaster on a charger but even then I would just want a normal special for it or something more straight forward like trizooka or something.
Take a shot every time Chara gives a kit Splat bomb or Burst bomb.

I'd just about freak out for the kits you gave my favorites, but most especially the bloblobber and the mini splatling! I'd really enjoy the variation I'd get from having those options alongside the ones we have now. The Aerospray and the Junior kits were also really nice.

As someone who switches between Mini Splatling, Bloblobber, Splatana Wiper, and Clash Blaster. All of you kit ideas for them sound excellent. I'd play all 4 of them.

I kinda have a prediction of my own for Nautilus! Maybe we could get Suction Bombs back from the Nautilus 79 kit in Splatoon 2, and I think that Crab Tank would be really good for it!! In Splatoon 3 they gave Nautilus a sort of painting style kit with the Ink Storm. Crab Tank would keep the painting style but allow the Nautilus to help push up and keep enemies back in modes like Clam Blitz and Tower Control!!
any kit would be better than it's current one, point sensor and ink storm are my least favorite sub/special, so i was angry when i saw my boy ruined
same for explo, i loved the vanilla and custom kit in 2 and for it to get murdered in 3 was also heartbreaking

As someone who started as a blob main in spla2n, I always felt the blob kits needed to swap subs to really reach their full potential, sprinkler+ink storm for general turf and ink wall+suction launcher for a more aggressive kit.
I was so happy to have my ideal bathtub in 3, but now I've had a chance to realize it's missing something to help it in combat. Ink mine and tacticooler are... interesting, but I think there should be a model with inkwall and a more aggressive special to balance the bathtubs, maybe like the inkzooka or killer wail (I'd say inkstrike if the og bucket didn't already have it).
Overall not a bad selection for the buckets, I quite enjoy the explosher kit as beakons help sorta remind the player that it's a backline weapon.
I kinda wanna see the dynamo getting splat bombs and the big bubbler I feel like that would work for my play-style

I want my Splattershot + Burst Bomb combination. I do NOT need Tentatek AND Tentatek Classic in the same game. I'd pair it with Triple Inkstrike to reference the ol' Wasabi.
I still want my kensa dynamo back(or at least booyah bomb) but the one you made is very good too.The one it has now forces you to stay in the backline and makes getting a good tacticooler spot quite risky since you dont have a reliable way to retreat or stay in that zone

I personally think that the perfect third kit for the normal splattershot would be:
-Burst Bomb/Torpedo/Fizzy Bomb
-Triple Inkstrike
It gives it killing power, combo potential, and a Slayer-support hybrid
all the kits you gave for my favorite weapons made me excited, so i'd say you hit the nail on the head. the jet squelcher and flingza especially have me vibrating
On a separate topic, I have an interesting idea for a nerf to tenta missiles.
The missile user also becomes visible to all of the opposing team after launching it. Exposure tag is the same as point sensor/angle shooter but duration is 1.3-1.6x as long and can only be reduced by Special power up.
I think you should be visible before you launch it as well, as soon as you pop it you are marked until all missles land. It might make them even more passive is the only issue.
Coming back to this Video, I actually want the specials for vanilla splat roller and carbon to switch;
Reefslider on Carbon roller feels like it’d make more sense than trizooka, it keeps its aggressive in your face nature, and gets a direct path in to start a push which is something it’s already struggled with.
Normal Roller being a more jack of all trades of rollers having something like inkzooka would complete it imo, I think it should have a Range counter more than carbon
Aggressive Bloblobber being possible would be a dream come true. Tacticooler Ballpoint would actually motivate me to learn the weapon. Mine Brush reminds me of TF2 Demoman for some reason.
Reef-Lux would be AMAZING with any reliable chip damage sub (burst, fizzy, torpedo). It has so much untapped combo potential. I'd also like to see it with any other displacement special (killer wail, triple inkstrike, booyah bomb). It's my favorite new main weapon and I hate to see it only used for special spam.
I would love to see so many of these kits. The flingza kit sounds so good!

As a tri stringer main, your kit is the exact same as my most wanted. Hopefully the devs agree with us!
I like just about every kit crafted here, but a few things on some in particular. To stay somehwat relevant in usage among the others here, Slosher's second kit should have either Crab Tank from 2's Deco, Killer Whale 5.1 instead of tenta missiles from 2's vanilla kit, or even Trizooka like its Soda Slosher kit had in Splatoon 1. The torpedo was a good suggestion too for it in terms of a damage combo sub that can better temporarily detain out anchors. On a note of the L3, I really liked Inkjet on it in Splatoon 2, and felt like one of the best inkjet weapons in that game period. Just bringing back L3D from the previous game would not only be one of the best versions it can be, but it would also retain its niche of being one of the best inkjet weapons to choose from. I can see though why you had spiced things up and chose Hammer, as it was very well received with L3, and would've been used way more, if not for Splash Wall. So, changing the kit would be a different spin on L3D, and potentially even better for it. Undercover I really like Inkstorm and Burst bomb, but if they did decide to actually buff the main weapon in a future patch, burst may be a little too good for it. Splat Bomb and Inkstorm (Tri Slosher Nouveau's kit from 2) or Killer Whale 5.1 (if they decided for whatever reason not to give Undercover inkstorm and change it from the direct, as the devs do many times) would probably be my alternate suggestion, as splat bomb, even though more capable of higher damage output, consumes more ink, has arguably less of an impact in LDE than burst does, and was already an option in the previous game. Killer Whale 5.1 is basically a slayer/support hybrid special for it just like Inkstorm. Can get its shield restored across the stage with assists, can use it to corner people alone or with a teammate, and can displace/scout people with its aiming mechanics. Aside from those few I might reconsider, just Squeezer would also be the only other one I'd be a little weary about in giving it Splat Bomb/Big Bubbler. You could make a case it could be among the best weapons in the entire game with that kit, and for a base weapon that already could probably use a nerf to begin with, giving it such a strong kit should be a disclaimer. .52 got a great kit for itself, and it's probably gonna be used throughout the entirety of this game at the highest level unless Nintendo steps in and nerfs its paint output, increases its RNG or something like that. I'd probably either keep its sub and give it a new special that's more inferior, such as Splat Bomb and Zipcaster, or keep its superior special and give it an inferior sub, ala something like Suction Bomb (no damage combo's with suction really, more just blocking/controlling space like Big Bubbler) and Big Bubbler. Unless otherwise, it may need a nerf with a perfectly paired kit for itself. Bamboozler I agree it would still probably be fine with a burst bomb, since even though it's free hitbox chip damage for a one shot, you have to actually get fairly close in order to hit with, which may go outside of the weapon's comfort zone at times, and especially its max range. Plus, the weapon already splats pretty damn fast just by half charges, so it's not ground breaking having a chip damage sub like burst bomb on it like it would with other weapons. I think of it as more of having just another option in splat-combo'ing for perhaps more reliable kill potential than the mainline strategy in a damage combo. Hell, I wouldn't even say burst-bomb into a tap-shot/vice versa is even a faster TTK than just two half charges anyways. Would need some frame data to know for sure, but the difference I would think even if so would be very miniscule.
My dream kit is a sploosh with reefslider, booyah bomb, killer wail, or wave breaker with splat, suction, or curling bombs.
Foil squeezer I feel would be more like ink vac splat bomb. It might just be me. But I liked how you could use the bubble blower bubbles to protect your self and for me ink vac kinda does that.
As an explosher and E-liter main I love them both. The kit on the explosher in particular is one I am loving! Makes the sub on it a bit more useful than just spotting the enemy and the special makes up for marking players when hit
that one level in alterna where you're given a blaster with burst was pretty fun, so i hope blaster gets a kit with burst since it could combo really well with indirects

the thing with zipcaster is that it ticks down the special timer by simply charging up a weapon (i noticed this on the stamper) meaning you could accidentally end it early before getting a shot off. you can recover the time if you cancel the charge, but still, until you cancel it it counts as part of the special timer being used up, so i dont think it would be particularly good on chargers
It's better that way honestly if you ask me. I'd rather have hyper mobile chargers that can only shoot like 3 times than ones that can zip to the other side of the map and still spam 6+ shots like an Octobrush could
I’m so excited for the Dapple Kits tbh. I like the idea of splat bomb inkjet. People tend to underestimate the dodge rolls, so I would be interested in seeing how that plays out. Honestly, I don’t see how the kit could be any worse. Considering the specials are better in this game, as long as it has a lethal bomb, I’m happy! It’s a big ask, but getting Clear Dapples back with torpedo and reefslider would be amazing!

Man, I'd LOVE to see many of these kits come to fruition. Goo Tuber with Fizzy and Inkjet would definitely make for a kit that loves to take weird angles and pop out for a hit, comboing Sloshing directs with an Angle follow-up or start-off would feel -real- good, giving Explo a slightly more defensive kit with an actual reason to run things other than Ink Saver Main, Rapid Blaster with Crab Tank, Brella with Torpedo and Ink Vac would be SO nice, and heck Flingza with Beckon and Ink Vac might actually interest me enough to play it for once.
If I had to pick one, I'd honestly go with the Brella-Torpedo-Vac kit. Having the Torpedo as an option would give you tons of opportunities to more safely close the Brella to reposition, or take another shot, and you could even shield the Torpedo as it comes in to make it harder to shoot down, increasing the likelihood that you can get a splat with just one shot and the torpedo. Not to mention the ability to toss a Torpedo high into the air, pop Ink Vac and nail someone with a Torpedo they can't shoot down and Vac charge you get for them even trying.
I think it’d be cool if you could make player custom kits, but they can only be used in private matches
ie, you can pick the main, sub, and special to be whatever you want, but only with people who willingly joined with you, not random matches
or maybe a special mode where custom weapons are allowed, just absolutely no letting aerospray tentamissles in public matches…
As someone who likes the brushes a lot, giving one of em a bubbler+Torpedo would make for some really interesting speartip/vanguard playstyles, get in, pop bubbler, let your team capitalize on how hard you are to shift

The moment I heard the music for the Clash section, I knew something was gonna go down.
I think one important aspect of the Subs and Specials in this game currently is that a lot of them get very uneven distribution. Suction Bomb is on quite a few weapons (three of them being automatic shooters not counting the Hero Shot Replica) while Angle Shooter gets to rock on only two weapons (all of them shooters).
As for the Specials, a good number of them could make appearances on different weapon types or weapons that cover different ranges. Zipcaster is, at the moment, only on short-ranged/melee weapons and the Reefslider is stuck on three different automatic shooters.

We don't have all 2nd kits for the launch weapons, but I'm amazed how accurate most of these ended up being. Granted he only got a perfect prediction on L-3, H-3, Splat Charger, and Mini Splatling. He got either the sub or special right on most of the others and some of them he only got incorrect because of new specials being added.
I like most, if not all of these kits. Many aligned with my own predictions. I agree with the controversial choices, even though Clash with a Burst Bomb would be hellishly annoying. I noticed one problem, though. The regular Blaster’s second kit can’t have Autobomb, since its first kit already has it.
We also need customisable communication options and they can change with your freshest fits so you can say different things for different modes like for rainmaker you can say this route is safer or in general say don't jump to me I'm trying to be stealthy and flank. It would at least be better than this way that everybody ignores and booyah which is pretty much used at the start of the map or for squid parties. This would also work for salmon run.
I forget to mention that if you are using booyah bomb your downward option would switch for booyah during special duration.
I just *desperately* want Zipcaster on the Splatana Wiper.
Not necessarily sure how good it'd be, but I think it'd feel better than the Stamper using it, and thematically is just perfect. (Ninja using a Katana)

E liter with zipcastor angle shooter with respawn punisher and a ton of ink saver main sounds like a fun time
I’m still not sold on pairing Zipcaster with Squiffer, let alone E-liter. It seems like an obvious thing to do on paper, but I’m not sure how practical it would actually be. Chargers would not be able to take advantage of the full offensive properties of the special since you probably wouldn’t want to zip straight into anyone with it for that damage. Furthermore, charging up is what depletes the ink tank, so trying to get that last shot off is what will end the special more often than not.
IDK. Zipcaster is already such a high-effort special. The duration is so short that you really need to make every zip and shot count to have any impact on the game. Chargers just aren’t fast or “efficient” enough to make getting good plays off if it practical IMO. But I would love to be wrong because it could be hella fun.
To be fair, I think the squiffer would be the best long range weapon to give Zipcaster to, as opposed to like Squeezer or 96 gal, and most Zipcaster weapons atm are short range.
Having range and kill potential (though it would be a high skill floor to be effective) would let you focus on zipping towards better shooting angles, rather than as close as possible to the target.
I'm praying every night that Nintendo brings back the Wasabi Splattershot.
I'm also praying Nintendo doesn't give the Splattershot Ink Mines like that one single player level

Zipcaster on squiffer just makes so much sense, I'm 100% scared of it but it makes too much sense to not be a thing.
Also that tri-stringer kit is the same one I wrote down as a prediction. It's perfect.

One trick inkbrush player here.
I really like the kit you came up with. Its very defensive and allows the brush to storm in from the backline and still get out thanks to its dash.
I would love an inkbrush with point sensor and tacticooler for maximum support.
Alternatively a kit like the first game with sprinkler and triple inkstrike or rain storm would be amazing for painting.
I'm really hoping for an Inkbrush with burst bombs and Inkstorm, or angle shooter and Zipcaster (or something similar)

Burst tacticooler for tetra is really good because burst helps it paint and combo potential. Tacticooler is useful for removing the need for QR and also helps it have a support kit.
