You are so right - A good HVR is so important!! It indicates an ability to manage stressful situations. Whereas a low heart rate variable shows a lack of resiliency of your body to cope with danger, anxiety, and stress.

Your website is by far the most helpful to me so far. Extremely relevant to my undiagnosed condition. Although, i am hearing a lot of discussion regarding vagis nerve stimulation and a mere mention of an overstimulated vagus caising bradycardia. I occasionally get hit with a low heart rate alongside symptoms like dizziness and overactive digestive, hot foot, etc. Usually clears up over a couple days. I'm a 6w5 living with anxiety. How does one prevent a proneness to overactive vagus nerve? That's what I'm looking to find out. Lifestyle change?

Hey Joe! We are so glad that you have found our website helpful! There are definitely some things that you can do to help strengthen your vagus nerve like lifestyle changes, eating a Whole Foods diet, connecting with nature. You can read more about this in this article written by Dr. Hauser www.caringmedical.com/can-repair-vagus-nerves/amp/
You can also check out the Hauser Diet website as we have whole food recipes there and you can take a quiz to see what foods will fuel YOUR body best!

I'm Iin my mid 40s, run and cycle 5 times a week and was a (slow) timetrialist before lockdown. My HRV bounces between 20 and 35. I very RARELY trend above 40. This has been the case since mid 2019 when I first started tracking.
I get the impression I'm setting myself up for some serious illness.

What is a good HRV? I'm working on getting EDS dx, and I believe I may have CCI, but my PCP is not well versed in EDS, let alone the related comorbidities. I recently had a holter monitor test that showed sinus tach, but PCP says that doesn't explain the dizziness that I'm experiencing. When I asked for a referral for spinal specialist for imaging, she instead sent me to a chiropractor. 🙄

Have you looked at GERD and HRV? I'm sure that it's affecting mine since the only time it's normal is when I fast for a full day or two, and it's terrible at night. I run, eat healthy, and I'm not a high stress person, so I'm questioning the overall accuracy when GERD is present. Any insights?

    • @CaringmedicalProlotherapy

Hi theburrow1thomas- Yes, GERD is something we see in many patients with neck instability and vagus nerve impairment. We discuss it more in other videos on digestion and the vagus nerve, if you want to do a deeper dive. ruclips.net/video/JtJXEpKCZ3o/видео.html and also ruclips.net/video/FSPzEzNBtMg/видео.html
Thanks for the question and sorry to hear that you're going through this despite your nutritional changes, and healthy lifestyle. Hi Dr, I think I have cervical spine instability issues, I have this symptom, I feel like electrical shock all over the body every now and then, is it really a bad sign? Could you please explain to me Dr,
I only trust you now , Thank you

    • @RobertLongM
      @RobertLongM 3 года назад

If you had no imaging done - I would suggest getting that.
Shocks alone won't suffice as instability. Even Stess, Medications can do that.
      - if you also have pain, esp on movement, or shocks happen in certain positions.. then it begins to look nerve related.
      ...
Look to get at least x-rays
      Neutral, Flexion, Extension, and APOM

I did go to a cardiologist and wore a heart monitor for 2 weeks. Not necessarily because of low HRV but because I was having heart palpitations (I think anxiety was causing it). I knew my HRV was low because I was wearing this HRV monitor that I from a website online. I think I’m realizing that yoga, exercise is key for everything as we know. Our bodies learn how to absorb stress and we have to make sure to take care of ourselves even when we don’t think we are stressed. Al of this new information is good but for me, it makes me stress a hundred times more because now I focus on trying to improve. Take care of yourself from all angles.

I'm having arguments with people reading reviews, and judging harshly.
    - perhaps a video Not on reviews specifically
But a video on REACTION to prolo, to numbing agents, steroid
I.e. one review had MCAS reaction.. 🤨 what saddens me is of course Prolo or Lidocaine will activate such just as much getting a rose thorn prick.
Granted unaware, of course you will be blamed.
My first prolo experience was shaking and panic.. That's Just Me! Type-A, OCD .. but I went back and my brain didn't react that way anymore!
Why some don't get better is another topic... and I know sometimes it's too late, but MAYBE not - so chance is always on both sides (conservative vs surgery)
And don'tet anyone pick on your glasses 😄
