  • Ross Hauser, MD discusses some of the common symptoms and conditions associated with intracranial hypertension from internal jugular vein compression, as well as methods we use to determine if this is likely what is causing a patient's symptoms. We see many patients with intracranial hypertension who come to our center because they have a constellation of symptoms like head pressure, brain fog, eye pain, glaucoma, vision problems, and many others that indicate the root cause may involve their internal jugular vein being compressed in the upper cervical spine.
    To read more about the symptoms and conditions associated with internal jugular vein compression and the "clogged brain toilet" due to upper cervical instability, check out our article:

    So I've been having swallowing issues, a feeling that the hyoid or thyroid cartilage is jabbing my throat. Tension from the throat to the collar bone when swallowing. After watching this I realized I had a period of time where just rolling from one side to the other in bed would cause dizziness and anxiety that would go away in about 5 seconds. I'm becoming more and more confident that I need to come see you.

    YES. Head pressure, double vision in right eye, brain fatigue, difficulty focusing through the 'brain fog'... purple rings under my eyes ... pressure amplified by a vaping habit. I just discovered the crick in my neck (sit in front of my computer 8+ hours a day) ... recently even had clear, thin fluid leak from my nose (?).. and I swear just straightening my neck in the last hour has led to almost immediate improvement, (eyesight). Can confirm that vaping isn't amplifying the problem with neck straight. Thought it was inflammation from a recent virus, ... treated with some degree of success with niacin flush, just got some arginine / carnitine in the mail, will use that to help clear/flush. ...now even considering a neck brace... man maybe you saved my life, I don't know if I ever would have figured it out on my own, (and doubt a doctor would. they're all evil pharma drug pushers, don't know jack shit,) ... I can't pay you, but maybe I can tell you: buy some physical gold to hide in your house. US economy is going down. try: jim rickards 'road to ruin', read immediately. seriously consider moving to europe in the next six months. anyways, good luck doc. ...I'm going to look around for neck-posture correction tips... sure would be nice to hear it from you. ...am I over-correcting?? anyways get some gold asap good luck doc !!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I've had injections I've had two neck surgeries. I also did fall not that long ago maybe a year ago smashed my head into the floor I thought my whole head busted open. I've had a lot of trauma to the neck. Please continue to read I beg you...... I felt like the healthiest person ever even after that car accident in 2005 where I flew 100 ft out of window of a vehicle. One day I fell down to the ground on one knee and I got up and stretched in the next morning I woke up with pain in my neck I went and got it checked out and there was a small pea size lump. It's grown over the years I started experiencing a burning pinching stabbing every pain you could think of in my neck to the point where when I flares up by midday I feel like I'm going to lose my mind. It's like having dry socket in your neck. I'm begging you I want to know if I could start to go fund me but I need help I feel all alone nobody understands. Over the past years I do so much around the house but I can't hold a job because I can't sit too long. I used to get comfort when I stood up unfortunately after a visit with physical therapy where the woman yanked my neck really really hard and put her knee on my shoulder which I know isn't normal. I started having an numbness in my thoracic. I get very bad muscle spasms there. But the pain and my spine and my neck and the back of my head never ever ever goes away. I need to take care of my son He is one kidney and stage two kidney disease. I watched all your videos You seem like the only doctor who understands

    I think my son has this. He’s always stood and sat like a vulture. His neck hurts, and today I asked him if he has swollen lymph nodes, and when I touched them, he said yes.
    We have been thinking he has mold toxicity and two tick-borne infections that have been causing his horrible inter cranial pressure, but after he had Covid in January, it’s been awful. We have no idea what’s going on, and I’m beginning to think this is his problem, or part of it.

      Hi Enid, Thanks for sharing. You may have already checked out our Patient Experiences playlist, but here is a link if you haven't: ruclips.net/video/PNwKz-ueUpg/видео.html There are other patients who have had PRP and Prolotherapy from around the world who discuss their experience as well on their own channels, and we hope you find the information and treatment information you're seeking. As with any medical treatment, we suggest contacting the provider's office to discuss your case first and make sure that they sound like a good fit and able to treat cases like yours. Ultimately, deciding if any treatment, regenerative or otherwise, is a good fit for your situation should be between you and your family (or anyone else who would be your support team while undergoing treatment) along with the provider who would be doing the treatment. Wish you all the best in healing!

    Another great video Dr Hauser. Can this still wreak havoc with ijv compression from c1 and elongated styloids if a catheter venogram showed normal venous pressures and only 1mmhg gradient in the ijv’s in neutral? Would this be separate to csf disturbances?

    • @CaringmedicalProlotherapy
      @CaringmedicalProlotherapy  3 года назад +1

      Hi Natalie, Thank you for your kind feedback. Someone can have CSF interruption that is separate and not blocking venous flow. When the IJV is blocked, by definition, it blocks CSF, but it is not always the other way around.

    • @natalietate3162
      @natalietate3162 3 года назад +1

      @@CaringmedicalProlotherapy thank you for your response. So do you mean that the jugular obstruction could still be blocking csf flow without it effecting the venous pressures? Venoplasty did not help me (however the extrinsic compression was still present) it was just used as a diagnostic tool to see if it helped. In fact for 2 weeks my symptoms including facial dystonia, diziness, palpitations/fight flight, neck pressure, headaches etc became even more intolerable

    Thank you so much for these videos. I had a mild concussion 3 years ago. Ever since then, I frequently have episodes of intense throbbing, tingling, and pressure in the left side of my head, typically accompanied by chest tightness, and feelings of panic and anxiety. There are a lot of things that will trigger these episodes which last hours to days. One thing that will trigger it, without fail, 100% of the time, is a hot bath, hot shower, or sauna. I've always assumed this implies a vascular issue, since hot baths and showers dilate blood vessels. I reached a dead end with my neurologist, who just called it "post concussive syndrome" and offered me medications. Does this sound like IJV compression could be a culprit, or is at least worth investigating? Cheers.

      This is a great question! Cervical spine instability can disrupt blood flow into the brain. Elevated intracranial pressure may be the underlining mechanisms of internal jugular vein‐induced brain structural and functional disorders.

      Hi divinehelp Abhulimen, Thank you for sharing and glad that you are looking into whether there may be a structural cause in the neck that is the connection between the symptoms you're experiencing. In our experience, these are very common symptoms in the cases of upper cervical instability that we see here. The tests mentioned in the video we use to see the neck in motion and the effect it is having on blood flow, symptom exacerbation, nerve input, etc. If you want us to possibly help you here, we do treat patients who travel from Europe, and you are welcome to reach out to our team to discuss your case in more detail. We wish you the best in your search for a doctor who can do a proper evaluation for cervical instability and help you get relief from your symptoms. Wish you all the best in health!

      Hi Robert, Good question. One of the reasons why we do like to have the CT venogram with 3D reconstruction in some cases, as there may be an elongated styloid like what is shown in the video. We try to figure out what is constricting the carotid sheath from the front or the back.
