Idk if it's because of their faith or just a lack of a strong relationship with their father, but it's amazing how they can laugh through it in a humble way as if their father's death was no biggie.

I am not a mind reader so I couldn't tell you why someone does something until they themselves tell me why...You need to be specific about "hate"...What's being hated?...You also need to be more specific on love...My moral values are solely based on the fact that others have the potential to cause harm or happiness for the most part...I know that I too have the potential to cause harm or happiness to others...Maximize goodness, minimize or eliminate suffering...

I've come to the realization, years ago, that no matter what I say and how well I articulate my point religious/creationists are going to appeal to faith, dismiss evidence and put forth the all too common "god of the gaps" argument...But, I'll explain anyway **more to follow**

But do you know what I've experienced? That it's all "magically" in the Bible. It says that the love of many will get weak. It also says that there will be false prophets, and it also says that there will come a time (and I believe is now) when things that are bad will be called good and things that are good will be called bad. All of this is written, but it's also written; "I have been young, and now am old, and I haven't seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread", it also says "Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but Jehovah delivered him out of them all." Also, "Call to me and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.". Lastly it says "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.' " But don't worry brother, I don't expect you to understand the history, the promises, and the power the Bible contains, (something you can see with both eyes) even less expect you to understand or feel the unseen, which would be God's presence, with that mentality of yours. I would not be surprised if you said believing in the wind is not faith or the assurance that the sun will come up every morning is not faith either. It says; "But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." 1Chr 2:14 Oh here's one more "Let no one decieve himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, 'He catches the wise in their own craftiness', and again, 'God knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.' "1Chr 3:18-20. Brother, here's your "evidence" that even if you try to compare or argue against God's wisdom and almightiness with your tiny little human brain, he already knew your thoughts and actions of today aaaages ago not even when your great great great great grandmother was planned to be concieved. I exhort you to meditate on these words and choose to live with true freedom knowing that someone has your back no matter what you go through. Even though you doubt Him like this, He knows exactly where your actions and thoughts will lead you and have led you to, and He still loves you and wants to show you great and mighty things which you don't know yet. @StefanJato, it's true that the we believe in Jesus Christ because of what the Bible says, but Jesus also tells US to make disciples of all nations. How many nonbelievers are going to sit down and read the word and just become believers? I admit, it does happen. However, what is more likely to happen is through the leading of the Holy Spirit, one person will share with another and there interest is piqued. I can definitely identify more than a few people who led me to the Lord.
I dont like that people say xyz are their "reasons for being a christian". Our reason for being Christians should be nothing other than that what the Bible declares is truth. We need to stop thinking of the bible as a storybook and realize its just as true as any history book, if not truer.
Jesus is comforting, the love of God is comforting, eternal hope is comforting, the blessing of God is comforting, the security from condemnation is comforting. Repent, believe in Christ, and you will feel the comfort too :)
It is easier to actually defend your faith in a forum that allows one to show evidence why one believes the way they do. And to have a dialect than limited space on youtube comment section. You will come to the truth if you search for it with all your heart. That is for sure.

Watch that video again on Erasing Hell. I watched the video at least twice to ensure that I got the context of what he was attempting to convey through his usage of specific words & scriptural text. Unlike you, I don't feel or believe he's still working through his belief concerning the issue of hell. Everything he presented in that video reflects a GOD who DOES as He pleases & we as fallen beings lack the ability (& infinitely so) to understand the MIND OF GOD.
Paul the Apostle said the same concerning the Mind of God. We see partially but who are we to know all things as God. Eve fell into sin thinking that she by eating a fruit would be as God.

Atheisim is a religion, I find hope love and life etc, in god and truth in jesus. It would take more faith to believe in Atheisim, but because its a cold dead ultimiltly pointless religion with no proof I sure dont want to put my faith in it, plus god reveals himself to thoes who put there faith and trust in him, which he has done for me, and will do for you. I have not given up my freedom of inquiry and I do not intend to as long as I live...There's a reason most christians DO NOT apply the same skepticism to their own beliefs as they do for other belief systems...Well, I guess all there is to say is stay comfortable in your ignorance, I will continue to question everything, think critically and demand sufficient evidence for extraordinary claims; which is simply the hallmark of a rational mind...
Check out John Lennox if you want to see sb who is a Christian and also thinks very critically about his beliefs

I find it very hard to believe you used to think "that way"; this is what a lot of religious people state but when they are logically questioned about the flaws in their world view they simply dismiss it; it's quite clear they don't understand the basics of logic and reason...there is a way to determine what's true and what's false; personal "supernatural"experiences are not a part of that method...
