I just read on Facebook that someone got a free ride, but it was because it the driver's final trip. He was retiring after he had been driving since 1965.
Its nice one. My first job was City road morefields eye hospital taxi rank to Tesco edgware road (wanted me to drop off at upper berkley st)
£24 pounds and given not for free as just paid 350/= for cab rent less than an hour ago.
But i did give few free when i see someone in need.

I can remember my first cabbie job 27 years ago it was a nursing home and I had to ask the lady for directions 🙈

Correct. Luckily my first fare was only a short journey. Old lady waiting at a bus stop on Park road and bus hadn’t turned up so she only wanted to go to the town hall on the south side of Marylebone road. But I’ve given away many for all sorts of reasons since, it’s what we do.
My first journey was Fulham rd by the picture house (the old Odeon) to Knightsbridge station £4:80

In Oslo it is tradition that the first trip with a new car is free. Once, in 2005, I gave the punter a cake with a picture of my new car a Skoda Octavia. To get the free ride and cake, I was allowed to take a picture and put it on my web page.

I wish there was a way of spotting a taxi looking for their first fare.
First rides is like getting your hair cut by a student at a beauty college. It'll be cheap or free but it might cost you. 😬

1st job New North Rd by Shoreditch Park to Victoria. 26£ on the meter. It was hard to swallow but it was freebie. Passenger couldn't believe it, thought I lost my mind.

I was fortunate to get a free ride along with many others when Blind Veterans Uk were having a garden party at Buckingham palace .. it seems every cabbie that found out why people were heading there wouldn’t take any payment.
Most cabbies will not charge for poorly children going to Great Ormand street and also Chelsea pensioners rise free

Highway to Greater Ldn Hse, 20 mins after picking up my M reg fairway from R&R rentals. He didn’t get it for free, arrogant. Last job up in Maida Vale, old guy, he got the freebie. Bit arse about tit, but I did do a free ride.

It's called fashion look it up (and yes they're probably a bit cold in the cab)
Heaters on in electric taxis are not friendly to our batteries, thanks for watching!
