  • Today you'll hear from one of our favorite guests, a fan favorite and expert clinician, Amanda Asproni. Not only an expert in dealing with infidelity, addiction, and various forms of trauma, she's also a survivor of infidelity, trauma and narcissistic abuse. I ask her the tough questions today as she discusses how various forms of trauma can make healing from infidelity and addiction different than those who have not been diagnosed with PTSD and CPTSD. A healing guide to thousands in crisis, Amanda provides critical insight into how to help both the betrayed and unfaithful partners find new hope for their own healing as well as their relationship's.

This is so me....spot on..... I was betrayed by BOTH my ex husband of 27 years, ( we have/had 3 sons and grandkids) who walked away and started a new life with his affair partner, and now my fiance of 6 years who I learned to finally trust - which took a lot. It's traumatic. I am one month in from discovery. I am a mess. Thank you for all you do. ❤

Thank you for having Amanda on your podcast. The team approach with specialty clinicians/coaches is so important. Healing is possible. This platform can reach people who don’t have access to the “right” treatment approach in their area-Thank you both!

Thank you both so much. It truly explains alot. From alcoholic parents who left me bleeding after my mother smashed into my fathers truck n hitting the railroad tracks face first and knocking out my teeth. Then blaming me for the rest of their lives for how much it cost to fix plus so much more. Sexual assault by my step grandfather n no one believed me. Now 4 other cousins have come forward. To sex drugs and rock n roll ex husbands 10 min of fame and a meth addiction I've over come and now 30 years sober. Theres so much more in all that.
I had thought i found my soul mate all these years later hes a serial cheater as well as porn and love addict (in recovery) but im finding it so hard to over come. The intrusive thoughts and all the crap i thought i had over come. I thought God had forsaken me. But maybe I've forsaken myself.
    Anyway Thank you both.

There are so many things I want to write but then draw to what’s the point? I’ve commented on so many videos in the past. I know I am getting somewhere however, being someone you have absolutely described here yet there is no finances, that’s part of the issues. No ability to get credit or the money needed for this therapy. I kinda wish I could get well and figure out how I can help fill the huge void of empty space with missing therapists that can provide support to those in real need. I mean those going through everything you’ve described but unable to access the direct process of therapy needed to make a real significant difference. This was a great video though. As I knew it would be. If anyone would consider scholarships or helping one person at a time perhaps. I don’t know but there is a section of people completely being left behind. Who want to do the work, who wants to get better, I have done as much as I can on my own. I don’t have any friends, they’ve all ran because it’s too complicated and too much for their lives, which I get. It’s really tough but it helps to be acknowledged.

thank you for answering. I'm sorry it's such a difficult time and resources are scarce. You can go to affairrecovery.com and look into their scholarships for courses that they have. That may be a great option for you for very little monies at all.

@@samshealingpodcast ah thank you Sam! I have been honoured already with a scholarship with AR for the Harbouring Hope course and completed that Winter last year, started it about this time roughly last year. It was brilliant and very useful. I would recommend it for sure. I would say without doubt, when you have complex trauma therapy or working with someone one on one is certainly something I know I need. Always appreciate your time in responding!
