    Stoked to see BJ in here talking about Period Correct, dude is a personal inspiration to me and he’s done some cool stuff for the culture via Period Correct.

    This is what Porsche is all about. A car I've been in love with forever. Magnus, you're someone I've known about for years. Thanks to RUclips, I can better appreciate that, which is Porsche...

    Love it. I'm in the process of pulling weight out of my 97 M3 (without permanent modifications). All the tar/sound deadening has to remain. One day someone will want to return it to stock............. which is likely me when it's time to sell 😅

    If it's your car...do whatever you want with it...cars meant to be driven/enjoyed...not just looked at

      Man, I couldn't agree with you more people buy them than stuf them in a collection where they are never seen until the next auction to be sold to the never ending g revolving door.

    This 911R looks like a predecessor to Willi Kauhsen’s “company car” the Goldstaubauto with which he drove to Le Mans in 1971 to race the 917 Pink Pig. Anatole Lapine, Porsche’s Russian designer had just painted Hans-Peter Porsche’s car in gold and claimed that it contained actual gold dust and the paint job cost 26,000 Deutsche Mark, an absolute fortune in todays dollars.

    • @kevinbodman1011
      @kevinbodman1011 10 месяцев назад

      What does.that convert to the American dollar?😊

    • @michaelhueppeler7005
      @michaelhueppeler7005 10 месяцев назад

      @@kevinbodman1011 In 1970 the conversion was 4,20 Deutsche Mark per USD. The purchasing power of the USD far outweighed the Deutsche Mark back then. When Steve McQueen bought the grey 911S that he drove in the opening scene of the movie Le Mans, I seem to remember that he paid ~ 7,300 Deutsche Mark for the car. That info is on the internet somewhere because the car sold at auction a number of years ago for $1.4 million.

    I like this raw period correct build. The 911R is quite a rare collectible these days. Personally I'd have the modern version which is also of course, collectible.
