Thanks for the informative video. I know it’s been three years but I can not find the app for iPhone. The apps I’ve found won’t connect to my phone even after I paid $19.99 per month.
Anyone know where I could get a battery pack from? I have 4 testers and one of the batteries won't hold a charge but I can't seem to find a replacement .. kinda sucky they don't sell them directly the manufacturer probably wants me to send it in but aren't we tech guys I can't help but try to fix it first.
4330-H Chlorine/Bromine Plus Borate Series Disk. Realistically they are hard to find. So you can also do it mathematically using this site: www.poolcalculator.com/
Any insight on using this product in 2024 ?? I’ve been interested for 2 years but nervous to buy considering there’s only very few videos and the years are 2 plus years old all the way to 7 years old lol Any thought David?
It doesn't. That is a bit more complicated, you can use online tools such as this once oyu have the readings. poolcalculator.com/?.poolcalculator.com&/
So I have a Taylor K-2006 now with fresh reagents. I also have a ColorQ Pro7 that I just received. It is having issues with some of the numbers being way off from my testing as well as the pool store testing. Their customer service is on point and a new one is being sent off. On that note, I also ordered the Waterlink spin touch today as well. Have you done a bunch of tests side by side with all 3 to test for accuracy? If so, which was the most accurate? Thanks for any info.
I have done many side by side testing - a guy in my group in Texas did extensive testing with pool store and multiple testing. We have found that most tests line up within the margin of error. The reason the Spin Touch is so accurate is that it eliminates human error, tilting reagent slightly, a drop not being a full drop etc.
Do you have any recommendations on how I can keep my ph and alkalinity up in my pool. Or is that just part of it is adding product weekly bc thats what im doing. But i also like to keep it at 80 and a 7.2 7.4 ph. So that could be the reason
The 10 test factor disk are one use disks. $100 for a box of 50 of them. Product # LAM-47-1009 at SCP. This thing is totally rad but not inexpensive. The unit is around $800. But it does have a solid 2 year warranty and it is pretty rugged. It is great to get your monthly readings but probably not an everyday residential kit. If you do Commercial Accounts or new Pool Start-Ups this would be great to have. Currently there is a 30 day back order. Took 3 months to get this unit. It is in high demand. And the results are spot on. I independently verified the test factors at several accounts. It does Iron, Copper, CYA, Salinity and Phosphates which is really a game changer. And all 10 test factors in 60 seconds.
IS THERE ANOTHER LESS EXPENSIVE DEVICE LIKE THIS ONE WHERE ALL YOU DO IS INSERT A SAMPLE INTO "SOMETHING" AND IT COMES OUT WITH A READ OUT? JUST LIKE THIS ONE EXCEPT LESS EXPENSIVE.
I suggerst the ColrQ Pro 7. Just use a water sample and add 5 drops of each reagent and the screen will give you a digital rerading. It does 7 test factors.
Haven't tested the TTi 3000 by Taylor. That one looks fine but this one does everything form one disk in 60 seconds. Taylor is more like their reagent tests with a digital readout. There is currently a 2 month back order on the Spin Touch. The demand is really high.
So I have 107 pools that I do, how expensive would it b to use this on all my pools as far as buying the disc's go?
It would be fine for once a month testing if you price that in. 50 disks will run you $120-$130 so that is $260 for 100 pools. $2.60 per disk.
Do we need to replace each disk for each test ?
Yes, that is what makes this an expensive testing method.
how often do you need to replace the disk?
Each time you use it.
Is there a hard reset button on this thing?
Not that I know of.
Do the discs expire like normal reagents?
They last for 1-2 years but do expire.

This app should work for you: apps.apple.com/us/app/waterlink-solutions-pro/id1398371628

I'm sure they will send you one.
WOULD U SUGGEST THIS FOR A HOMEOWNER WITH A POOL?
Overkill I think.
Hi David-
Which disk would you get to test the borate level or would you recommend another testing method?
4330-H Chlorine/Bromine Plus Borate Series Disk. Realistically they are hard to find. So you can also do it mathematically using this site: www.poolcalculator.com/
David - what is the best digital tool for testing for salinity that doesn't cost a $999? Thanks.
Would say the most underrated tester is the Oakton CTSTestr™ 50C Cup-Style Waterproof Pocket Conductivity/TDS/Salinity Tester

Any thought David?
Still a great choice. Disk should be now readily available. Mine still fires up without issues.
what is the difference from the Waterlink SPIN vs SPIN TOUCH?
One is for retail use without the case I believe.
how does it tell you what you need to add to pool,
It doesn't. That is a bit more complicated, you can use online tools such as this once oyu have the readings. poolcalculator.com/?.poolcalculator.com&/
Orenda app
can you reuse the disk?
I wish. But no, you can't.
Nice video! Keep it up!

That's amazing for the expensive pools or commercial pools
Yes. Amazing.
Does anyone know how to update the firmware on these things?
you should be able to plug it into your computer and download the upgrade

Add Borates and at 30-40 ppm the pH and Alkalinity will be much stabler.
7.4 to 7.6 ia ideal
Keep Alk at 90 and pH 7.5 that will be your target.
how much price
$900 or so.
hi, thanks for your video
is this going to work for saltwater aquarium ?
Yes, it will work in just about all bodies of waters.
boa noite os reagentes ficam no disco cada medição requer um disco novo
It has been 3 years since this video, do you still use this device?
Yes. I have to calibrate it now more often. It os getting old I think. But still works great!
Nice video Dave thanks.I hate to ask how much are those disks? I would assume one per pool use correct?.

wow! 1 disc use!!? That does get really expensive in a hurry. I'd be potentially spending at least $400/ month just on those things. YIKES!

it's been a while. I miss wathing your reviews.
Welcome back!
does everything except tds lol...darn
Funny. 😀
on a serious note, how does it compare to taylor's colorimeter? It seems MUCH SUPERIOR. (not sure if you've tested theirs)

900 bucks ? keep it , my test cost 10 dollars
