I am hearing that some people are not getting accurate breakdowns of ferric and ferrous iron. I'm going to continue to verify my test results on other samples as well. Even so, I think it's a pretty cool machine.
Seth, It actually has a battery that lasts for about 75 to 100 tests between charges. It also geo locates and transfers data via Bluetooth connection to a computer. It is important to make sure to stay up on the firmware updates from Lamotte to maintain accuracy.
Sort of, by that I mean it is actually a portable/rechargable unit, using 5v USB-C power supply to recharge, most 5v power blocks are 100-240 switching type, so you should be easily able to acquire that anywhere. The older models required continuous a/c power. Newer models #35xx, (80,81,82,85) are all cordless rechargeable . I bought the cheapest model #3580 (all models include the same photometer device, just different accessories, carrying case in upright form, or waterproof pelican style case. Mine had no case at all, but I only use it in my house so I found a nice sized rubbermaid container that fits everything I use. Expect to pay $750 upwards, and it will test pools, well water, municipal water, hydroponics, and fish farming, just order different disks, sold in 50pc sets for between $120-160. Good investment .
Thanks
What is ferric and ferrous and what is the difference
Thanks for this!

I use it on my pool route!!!!!
Very fast and accurate
What a great piece of lab equipment, is it both 110 and 220 volt options?
