33:45 we get to the prices. 34:48 we get to the discounted rates for month-long stays and longer. I skipped around to find it and then went back and watched. No point in watching if it's out of your budget. Also, I think there was a bit too much drumroll from Linda before the prices. Sorry, I don't have time to write a whole bunch of nice things surrounding the pointers so this is probably coming across as criticism. I'll just say I think you guys have potential otherwise I wouldn't waste my time making comments.
Cheers thanks I appreciate I the reply. Linda, s a one off, great to watch I'm in Australia, in a hot bath, I'll catch up u 4 shore.keep on keeping on. 🌞🌞🌞😎😎
This place is like many places in this price range are former hotels converted to apartments. So the faucet is over the wooden counter is for filling up a pot and you can add a single burner Khmer cooktop for $10 and use the big sink to wash utensils. This place is ideal for single person thats a minimalist and does not require much but enjoys the perks of peace and quiet and a swimming pool and proximity to the city and local markets and food stalls.
@@mahoneytravelsI guess you are right about the big sink and washing up dishes and pans. I'm going to keep checking out other videos but I really think this might be where I stay.
Agreed but for a minimalist solo traveler it’s a great setup. If you wanted to cook in room either a air fryer or single burner portable stove and you are good to go 🙏🏼 Thanks for watching 😎
You messed up the audio settings. I'm a couple minutes in and audio is only coming in through my right earbud. I thought maybe it was me but the drum roll comes in through both. Also, no problem with other videos on other channels. Edit: Around the 8:56 mark it switches to both earbuds. Thanks for the video.
They do not have washers. However there are many laundry facilities, including next-door one US dollar per 1 kgb i’m at his washed, folded and pressed. Yes it is very close to Angkor Market. Thank you for watching our channel.
great video. thank you. those prices certainly dont include elec/AC right? what about water and other utilities? thanks for all this great info would love to move into one of those poolside units!
Great point. At the time of filming they said 1 kilowatt hour is .25 cents US coin. Water is a couple bucks a month . Please verify with them for current rates. The contact in in the video description 🙏🏼 Thank you for watching our videos and follow us on facebook for daily updates @ Mahoney Travels 😎
Hi great video I am looking to live in Cambodia in 2 years I would cook a lot from home as I like cooking can I ask if that area has many supermarkets around like a 7/11 also would it be possible to have a fridge freezer instead of the small fridge. Thanks
There are western supermarkets around called Angkor market. They import all the western big brands. They are very expensive as they make mark up on the already expensive western prices. All rooms come with a fridge. As an American I have warmed up to the local wet markets. The prices are dirt cheap and food is fresh. As in picked that day and meat was alive 1 hour before. So it’s very healthy. Linda and I cook most meals at home. As a single person you can grab decent street food and a beer for under $3 . No 7/11s here other than pub street. But to answer your question yes several supermarkets around. So you have many options. Thank you for watching our channel 🙏🏼
New subscriber from Italy. Relocating to Cambodia January next year. Any information would be most welcome 🙏 Plan to spend 1 month in PP to handle business visa, banking, etc. After, we are torn between SR, Kompot, Battembang or Mondulkiri. Thank you for you informative information 😁

Nice video. We are considering Cambodia for retirement, my wife is Filipino but we are looking into different countries with affordable living and decent health care. Would you say the Healthcare is better or comparable to most Asian countries?
Cambodia is the easiest country in Asia and maybe the world for expat living especially retirees. Cost of living is incredibly low. Our experience with the healthcare is it’s very affordable for most everyday issues like the flu etc. Just pay cash. As an American I’d probably go to Malaysia or Bangkok for major surgery though. Geographically everything in Southeast Asia is a short flight or day bus away. There is a fast growing expat community here so I’m sure the healthcare options will catch up. Thank you for watching our channel. Welcome to Cambodia.
Thanks for the response. I'll be following your channel and learning more about Cambodia. Keep up the good videos. It's amazing how many more Americans are choosing to retire overseas.....U.S. cost are so out of hand. @mahoneytravels

Thank you for your feedback. The water will run $5 or less a month for normal usage. Electric will run 1000 Riel or .25 cents per kilowatt hour. Thank you for watching our videos🙏🏼
We discussed that at the end of the video also have a link in the description for the facility. 150 a month for one to three months. If you sign a year lease, it’s 110 a month.👍
10:45 The dude in the light blue shirt looks like he's wearing nothing but that, lol. Probably get quite a few characters there. Whether or not that would get old is hard to say.
Alot of western residents like this place and choose to live here. Americans French and British folks we met. Very friendly. Didnt see any of the hippie dread locks backpackers as they tend to stay at the boarding houses with shared rooms and toilets.
@@mahoneytravels this is definitely somewhere near the top of my list. I think I would learn a lot from those residents living there about all the things to avoid when you're living there long-term. Thanks again for the video. I look forward to another one
If i ever visit Cambodia i definitely try to get a hold of ur wife Linda or both of u cuz i have no family in Khmer n also left Khmer Since i was very young
So all I got is the price might be less than $200. I'm 16 minutes in and I still don't know the price unless I missed it near the beginning. Edit: Also, not to be rude but a lot of what Linda says requires a bit of a strain for me to understand so i just let it pass without knowing what was said.
@@mahoneytravels Thanks for your replies and for not taking things personally. Again, I'm liking a lot about the channel, especially since I'm about 85% on moving to Cambodia versus the Philippines.

This really is great for some purposes. Not having a good place to wash my cooking utensils would be a deal-breaker for more than a month though.
