Damm you can't evaluate this piece.
I hate that 90% of youtube critis say, " oh this lacks something " or too fast too slow.
Don't you get that this man is one of the vest pianists of the last century and he has more hours training this particular sonata than you have listening beethoven.
Sometimes I don't like something, but let's not be dumb...
Poise, brilliance, mastery. Witnessed Evgeny playing this amidst a formidable Beethoven programme, last night at the Barbican ❤️
So much nonsense written here!
Just a magnificent performance. Not fast at all and the third movement is romantic as Beethoven wrote it.
The changes in dynamics is just wonderful.
Oh those Beethoven dynamics and tempo markings. How extreme important they are!! Kissing doesn't miss one!!! For those of you who don't appreciate the tempo here I urge you to listen to Gould or Kempf. This is held back and with good reason. Nothing is missed here.
Das ist ein Allegretto. Danke Herr Kissin!
My favorite rendition ever.
amazing.... where is the 1 movement??

Kissin is the most most organic performer
one of the best for sure! his understanding of beethoven will come with maturity like all great pianists.
This is THE best version of this extraordinary piece of music I have ever heard.
Kissin is so good that he didn’t even have to go to the piano to play this (look at the picture on the screen).
i JUST LOVE THIS SONATA BY THE GENIUS BEETHOVEN PLAYED BY GREATEST PIANIST OF THE 20TH CENTURY KISSIN. FOR ME HE IS THE BEST.
+Zinnia Milburn Yeah, Kissin is the greatest pianist of the 20th century... a century he lived in for 29 years and whereAFTER he won his prizes... makes sense
for those who criticize.... and offer advice as to how it could be improved... lets hear your "perfect" rendition..... why not show us how it should be done and upload it to RUclips
Adoro esta joya de Beethoven. LLega al corazon y se queda alli. Sehr gut herr Kissin und bravooo ....!
his romantic touch is so wonderful.
Its just like listening one story.
i just can't over this one of BEETHOVEN PLAYED BY kISSIN IT IS JUST BEAUTIFUL, THE DYNAMICS HERE MAKE ME CRY IT IS JUST LOVELY.
Kissin has said that Beethoven is more difficult for him than e.g. Chopin. I support your opinion, a great pianist and all though.
Yes, have you watched that Moonlight sonata recorded last year?
Obra maestra, cada vez más bella.
Magical.
listen and stop comparing this and that. keep it to yourself it is very annoying.
Zinnia Milburn finally someone understands me
Aside from the fantastic performance, I believe he is missing some notes at the peak of the phrase that starts in 00:40 .
Who cares?
My goodness*
It may be slower from what I am accustomed to, but my good can you hear every little nuance throughout, there are a lot of accents I have not heard in and any other recording so far.
faster than that and you are a coffee addict. lol
It's sad actually this video is just a picture. Kissin is not moving. I though it was a lag or something...
@자본주의 두루미 I know
Do you hear all these notes ? We could even name them if we wanted to. He is the greatest. No doubt. Thank you Maestro
Me:Closes eyes and tryna relax with this performance
A random guy in the concert:*COUGHS*
Kissin is making separate parts look pretty but forgets about the whole dynamics of the piece. It simply does not sound as a whole in this interpretation. I love 17 sonata and admire kissin, but here is no match to my taste.
agree ,sometimes ,I so many pianists misunderstanding thay playing Betthoven music needs to play in fff sounds, even just in f indication..... but can't go deep in Beethoven frustrated feeling , just focusing on the loudest part of the pieces....
Except for the fact that the piece was played by kissin as close to perfect as possible regarding the dynamic markings
I agree vivaelglobo so much nonsense just enjoy this great performance he is the interpreter of this sonata no one should tell him do this do that. If these critics does not like the tempo or expression then why don't you people play according to your interpretation not to compare him with another artist.
He is a fabulous pianist, but he is losing track of the Allegretto - a little too fast
I think Beethoven is all about being swept up in the volatile emotions of the piece, and that includes tempo. It isn't like Bach where tempo is strict and unwavering.
Masterly! Lovely performance. Thank you.
Awsome.. & I don't like Classical "Muziq"
I love Kissin and his performances a lot but in this case personally believe Grigory Sokolov performs better. I think Sokolov is more successful in tuning to the right tempo.
piacevolissimo
perfect
i don't think Kissin had the right idea in this one. thanks for the post though!
Watch gould's!
Aaron Petit He plays it too fast :(
Don't!
a good way to say it. I find this to be lacking something. You know what is funny is that this is the one piece that I like Gould's beethoven.
sometimes I wish that pianists played this more faster.
listen to glenn gould
bascelija I've listened it right now. that's the best
Ydd Jjj faster not MORE faster...!😊😚
Javier Perianes' rendition is still my favourite
Where are F-E in Takt 46-47?
valentina lisitsa plays this one better.
the thinker yes she is more powerful and has showed the energy of Beethoven
I love Kissin but I think he lacks the delicate touch for this kind of piece. This is too fast and intense for my liking.
Kissin lacks some things but a delicate touch is not one of them.
I have a big problem with Kissin when he is playing i have to sit and listen. HE is the tempest
