The original has no gutalala though. In the Manga Kanna was surprised to hear the gutalala version, because it was not supposed to be there. When you listen to the other Bob Lennons uploaded on RUclips, it's the one that Naoki Urasawa himself recorded and put in the CD of volume 11 (gutalala has not yet existed), it has harmonica as well. The only reason why the gutalala version existed is because the movie adaptation has scene where Kenji sings the gutalala version.
To this day. I still can't get over how amazing this manga is. Totally deserving in my number 1 spot. Although, Urusei Yatsura is getting a adaptation, a 35 year old manga! Meaning 20th Century Boys or Pluto still has a chance for an adaption! I still have hopes lmao.

At first I thought the person speaking through the "Narrator Box" in chapter 1 was Kenji. Whether Naoki Urasawa thought of the "2nd Friend" from the beginning or not idc, but this detail I've found is very interesting..

Cuando comenzó leer hiba por capítulo 100 de este manga dije como carajos no tiene un anime es demasiado bueno pero después de analizarlo a fondo lo entendí no hay ni creo exista un estudio con los suficientes huevos para animar esta joya del manga este es cultura tiene tantas referencias y trata tantos temas a lo mucho se ocurría más 100 capítulos para animar lo completamente.

I couldn't tell if the song was good because I read the manga in a Portuguese scan. But now, finally listening to it, after finishing the manga, I can say that Kenji was a good musician.
I love the live action scene more than the manga. In manga, Kenji told the punk band to sing the song, but the live action Kenji did it which make more sense and satisfying.

I literally just finished 21st Century Boys and like Fuck man. Spoilers I'm left not known whether to cry that it's over, cry for all the ones we lost along the way, or smile because Kenji and Kanna finally got closure. This is a once in a lifetime experience, stories like this don't get written very often.
Did you get why Kenji was disappointed by Kana? Also...the identity of the fake friend was kinda meh. I didn't also like the fact that time skip Kenji was just a deus ex machina hobo badass with no real development. Monster was far faaaar better

i just finished reading the Manga online while waiting for my copy of the Perfect edition. boy, what a ride it was haha although i wasnt that happy with the ending. i'd still say Urasawa-sensei is the greatest Mangaka of this generation
Perfect edition has a different ending which is weird. I collected the manga in singles but have the perfect edition 21st century boys ending. Basically, it was Katsumata the whole time, he survived the gunshot from Yamane and Fukube died as a child.

Also...the identity of the fake friend was kinda meh.
I didn't also like the fact that time skip Kenji was just a deus ex machina hobo badass with no real development.

ho appena finito di leggere 20th century Boys e nonostante il finale che può lasciare qualche disappunto nel lettore penso di aver letto una della storia più belle mai scritte, una thriller perfetto che ti fa rimanere incollato al fumetto fino alla fine del volume, capitolo dopo capitolo ci immergiamo sempre di più nella storia di questo gruppo di amici a tal punto da quasi esserne diventato parte, trattengo le lacrime perché è finita, ma per fortuna ho ancora tante opere del maestro naoki urasawa da leggere e da amare, spero che questa storia possa diventare un manifesto su come si scrive una storia.

Perfect edition has a different ending which is weird. I collected the manga in singles but have the perfect edition 21st century boys ending. Basically, it was Katsumata the whole time, he survived the gunshot from Yamane and Fukube died as a child.
