At least you didn't try to grab the saw as the tree was pulling it with itself. I've seen people do that. Possibly the quickest way to need double shoulder surgery and get some broken ribs, and that's not the worst that could happen.

Rusty Shackelford no issues with the saw. Beech is a good heavy hardwood that is great for firewood sorta like maple.
