Susan My dad died eight years ago. His favorite ride was the haunted Mansion. He use to give a evil laugh while on this ride. At the very end of the ride there is a recording of a evil laugh that sounds like my dad,s laugh. It is as if he is now part of the haunted Mansion. This always makes me laugh. I feel he is with me when I visit this ride. Thank you disneyland
I wish people had some respect and would shut up when the ride experience starts. The stretching room should be the start of not talking during the ride....
It blows my mind that there are people glued to their phones throughout the ride, and people chatting the whole time. I used to go to Disneyland about 10 times every year during 95-03 as a kid. The last time I went was 2013, and it just wasn't nearly as fun as I remembered it. People these days are ruder, and the park was much more packed (even more so than during peak holidays at Disneyland).
Pro Tip:Don’t go on the Haunted Mansion during the day. Wait to go on it till the park is about to close. All the little kids are gone and you’ll probably only ride with 6 people at most. Everyone is quiet and it’s scarier since it’s nighttime.
I went during the day and night, almost when the park was about to close, and it's a whole different experience. Loved it during nighttime, it was awesome and definitely more enjoyable
I love how the intro of this ride is like high school students in a classroom setting; The teacher is talking, but nobody is really listening until the subject gets interesting.
There needs to be a rule in the Haunted Mansion for noise control in the stretching room. People should be kicked out for ruining the experience for other people. Also what is up with those girls on their phones? What's even the point of riding something if you're just going to be glued to your screen instead of enjoying the experience? People these days smh.
Jasper Hahn I agree. The first time I was in the stretching room, I couldn’t hear a thing. I didn’t know to look up for the Ghost Host. There was just so much chatter. I think they should have cast members do as ushers in a theatre do: ask people to stay quiet and turn the cell phone ringers off. Nothing ruins the experience of being immersed in a Haunted Mansion quite like hearing “Uptown Funk” blasting through your neighbor’s pocket.
1:48 Fun Fact: the skeleton there is not a projection. There is a legit object hanging from the ceiling. There is a thin, one-way fabric that is the "Fake" ceiling. When a light source hits it, it reflects back, making you not see through it. However, if a light source from the opposite side hits, you can see straight through. Freaky!

Wow some people really ruin the ride experience. If I were them and I knew every line off by heart I would stay quiet and enjoy the experience. But no some knobheads have to ruin it for others
A lot of the people who do that are Annual Pass holders. I've also been to the park with friends who are cast members (D-land employees) and they've recited the lines too.
MotionSickness seriously they paid over a hundred for those tickets to even go there and waited all that time to wait in line JUST SO THEY CAN LOOK AT THEIR PHONE?!?!? Jeez..
What a trip. Flash back to 23 years ago when I went to disney land in the 90's.... Time flies by it's crazy. Back then this was amazing to a 90's kid. It truly was groundbreaking back then.
Or sometimes a guest gets out of the “Doom Buggy”, and goes out of bounds. I had a friend who worked on this ride that lamented having to deal with this all the time.
There is nothing more annoying than the people who scream bloody murder in the stretching room. I can deal with slow walkers. I can tolerate loud chewers. But I cannot be in the stretching room with people who scream like that and not want to punch them in the throat.

Right. At this moment I thought: Oh, come on. This is not Disney quality. You could have made it in a voice which fit the somewhat spooky style the english narrator has. This sounds like an announcement on some subway station.

I get mad too it’s like we get it know how the spiel I’m pretty sure almost all of us do just enjoy it and stop ruining it for new people and the people on the phone I’m like wtf you pay all this money enjoy how immersive this ride is not a lot of people get to experience what you get to.
Why are people being so loud and rude talking in the ride? I guess regulars do not understand what a rare, precious gem it is to those who have to wait many years to go to Disneyland!
i last went in october 2019 and i wanna go againnnnn. when i was little i used to go every month, this was my first disney ride ever when i was 1. probably one of the best decorated rides
I´ll never forget that 15 minutes I was stuck in the car on the graveyard back in 2011... 15 Minutes power off track- only and all the ghosts kept singing and dancing :)
Wow, best one of the HM yet! Reminds me of when I ride at night and my eyes are already adjusted to the dark. Girls on cell phones during the ride though.... ARRRRGGHHHH!!! That drives me insane! Thanks for posting!
I know whats the point of waiting in line for a ride if you're gonna be on your freaking phone. That should be a new thing they add to the narration. "We spirits haunt our best in gloomy darkness, so remember, no flash pictures or cell phones... please" But this would require getting rid of Paul Frees's voice to record new lines so I don't think thats the best idea but it should be a rule to turn off your phones during a dark ride.
Spongeycraft Also it’s kind of pointless to be on your phone because they don’t work on the ride so I don’t even know what they’re looking at that can’t wait 10 minutes.
They've already replaced Frees's voice for part of the spiel. The part where they say "do not pull down on the safety bar please" isn't him. The voice is very similar, but if you listen carefully (or compare it to old recordings of the ride), you can tell it's not him.
I cannot believe people pay (or have someone buy a ticket for them) just to sit on their phone during the ride. Example of what I am talking about: go to Madame Leota around 5:53 and you can see people are totally not even paying attention and are just on their phones. YOU ARE LITERALLY AT DISNEYLAND!
did you every realized that you die on the haunted mansion the going backwards scene is actually you falling out a window to your death because that's the only way out according to the ghost host
It's been a really long time since I went to this and it was amazing to have my memory jogged. "Don't lower the safety bar, I'll do it for you", "Please bring your death certificate..." Wow. I was so lucky to see this as a 10 year old in the 80s.
Would you mind if your video was used in another as long as it was credited back to you? Yours is one of the clearest I can find, especially of a certain part of the dining room.
Thank you for the video it does bring back memories of my family's funeral Home holiday events. My family is all gone now. I do miss them even though time to time especially during Halloween they do come to visit in the spiritual world. If I ever feel like I terribly can't stand missing them so much and my heart is breaking I'll be sure to make a point to take a trip to this Haunted Mansion.
Lol I forget how old I was but that sounds about similar to my experience. I know this is a 2 year old comment, but when I was just a kid, I really wanted to go on with my mom & dad but their bar came down. They told me to go with my brother & grandma. My brother had to jump in another buggy cause my grandma and I were just standing there. My grandma was wanting to practically walk on, needless to say they stopped the whole ride for us to get on.
I really hate it when the people were talking in the stretching room and on the way to the doom buggies. If i worked to watch the elevator, I would say to step away from the walls to the dead center. Then i would say "And, no talking. It makes the spirits restless." Edit: Hey when I went to Disneyland I got the same ghost as you when we were stuck near the exit for 15 minutes
They seriously need to get that Stretch Room Spiel playing in the Foyer as well - you can't hear it at all till you get in and it goes off almost straight away! I thought after all these years they would have sorted that by now...
Came back after a whole year to say....STAY THE F OFF YOUR PHONE ON THIS RIDE DAMN IT! IT is like 10 min! Can people not chill for 10 DAMN MIN!? I saw it again and was again saddened. Just go sit in a cardboard box with your stupid phone if that is what you like but do not ruin it for us.
There should really be a louder lightning sound here 1:48 it barely scares anyone not even the kids i know its the haunted mansion but I remember when I was little that the lightning sound was a really loud BOOM it was so cool you could hear the lightning outside of the mansion while you were in line and now its super quiet
Despite being so old and out dated, The Haunted Mansion, It's a Small World After All, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Enchanted Tiki Room are three attractions which have become so defining and iconic for each Disney theme park that, in my opinion, must always remain operational.
I agree with your opinion, but i don't really think they're outdated. The Haunted Mansion in my opinion is too modern if that makes sense, and I believe the original 1969 - 1980 version of the attraction should be brought back. The popup ghosts used to scream, the attic was actually scary, and the stretching room lightning was ALOT louder. It was alot scarier than it was today, which would be my personal preference. Everything else I fully agree with though.

We rode this ride when we went 2 Disneyland 2014 😄 too bad Disneyland is closed today due to the Corona Virus 2020 it really is a Fun Ride 😍wish they would open up again 🤗 Stay Well 🌟🐦
1) these people are too loud and rude
2) those delinquents have to get off their phone
pretty much summed it up
if you have a bad ride experience....
BlAmE tHe DeLinQueNtS!
I get mad too it’s like we get it know how the spiel I’m pretty sure almost all of us do just enjoy it and stop ruining it for new people and the people on the phone I’m like wtf you pay all this money enjoy how immersive this ride is not a lot of people get to experience what you get to.
This bring backs memories. I'd love to go back when the pandemic is over with my friends.
Why are people being so loud and rude talking in the ride? I guess regulars do not understand what a rare, precious gem it is to those who have to wait many years to go to Disneyland!
Gotta love the bit where everyone screams when the hanging skeleton screams and falls XD
i last went in october 2019 and i wanna go againnnnn. when i was little i used to go every month, this was my first disney ride ever when i was 1. probably one of the best decorated rides
what camera do you use to capture these perfect low light situations ?
westcoast whispers someone already asked
low light? you have never seen Phantom manor them xD
The voice is very similar, but if you listen carefully (or compare it to old recordings of the ride), you can tell it's not him.
funny enough, this video has 4k likes, and it is a 4k video! that's funny right there! love this video!
lol ive actually never been on the classic haunted mansion. i always go during fall break or winter break so its nbc themed.
that sucks, i mean both of them are pretty much totally different stories
In my opinion I think they should keep the ride the same the whole year
I was there years ago. I absolute love this even the stretch room With that voice and the clock
When i was on the ride at night no body was on their phone or was talking it was amazing :D
(i had magical hours i think its called that anyways)
Super camerawork, well done!
Some people would rather Look at their phones instead of enjoying the ride.🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
OMG the mansion is dark but you managed to capture it in extreme low light! Impressive
I swear when I was younger I was so scared of this ride I would close my eyes the whole time so I never really saw the ride in person :(
yeaaaaaaaaaaah yeeeaaaaaaaaaaahh yeeeeeaaahhhhhhhhhh.
This one, the one with the yeti, the one with the TNT with a Western spin to it, It’s a Small World and Splash Mountain are my favorite rides
This Was MY favorite ride at Disney World. If i went today, I'D keep my phone PUT AWAY and enjoy the ride.
Damn straight. It kind of defeats the purpose of riding a dark ride while being on your phone with your brightness at max.
What a masterpiece. Works till this day with new generations of people picking up on it !
AWESOME I love the Haunted Mansion
This is the coolest ride I've ever seen
did you every realized that you die on the haunted mansion the going backwards scene is actually you falling out a window to your death because that's the only way out according to the ghost host
Noah Ratner Wow, that’s really cool!
Then how do you explain the hitchhiking ghosts?
@@x-fun3149 you die than a ghost hitchhikes with you.
So much better than most haunted houses.
This was always my second favorite ride. Right after star tours.
Lmfao my brother my mom and me tried to fit in one doombuggy and a cast member just stopped the whole ride, I felt so embarrassed😂
Really? When I was in third grade, the cast member let my mom, sister, and I all be in one. Maybe because I was super freaked out. Haha.
First time I went on this ride was gradnite 1990...loved it since..this and pirates of the Caribbean..I could stay on those rides all day alone
I really hate it when the people were talking in the stretching room and on the way to the doom buggies. If i worked to watch the elevator, I would say to step away from the walls to the dead center. Then i would say "And, no talking. It makes the spirits restless."
Edit: Hey when I went to Disneyland I got the same ghost as you when we were stuck near the exit for 15 minutes
Kloe Chuca well on the way to the room buggies is a line so it would be a little weird for everyone to stay quiet but I agree with the stretching room
great video love the lighting!!!
some people I see or saw need to get of the phone
ShaylinThePriest Vlogs or at LEAST turn the brightness down
FoxieRoxie365 true
It's dark and people can't see you, making it the perfect time to actually yell turn your phone off.
One of my favorite rides! Awesome footage!!
They seriously need to get that Stretch Room Spiel playing in the Foyer as well - you can't hear it at all till you get in and it goes off almost straight away! I thought after all these years they would have sorted that by now...
My favorite ride at Disneyland. Just realized the voice of the lady in the crystal ball was the same lady who voiced Malificent and Lady Tremaine.
I miss the haunted mansion 😭
Don’t worry it’ll reopen this Halloween season as Haunted Mansion Holiday
So far so good, pretty darn enjoyable, thanks.
I loved the Haunted Mansion Full Ride ! But only went on the Disney World one had so much fun !
First!
LMG Vids Morning and awesome video!
There should really be a louder lightning sound here 1:48 it barely scares anyone not even the kids i know its the haunted mansion but I remember when I was little that the lightning sound was a really loud BOOM it was so cool you could hear the lightning outside of the mansion while you were in line and now its super quiet
LMG Vids lol 😂
None of those rides that you mentioned are outdated they’re all classics and they will always be classics
6:15 to 6:56 is the part that the ride always stops on for me 😂
Yeah and it says “Those guest have interrupt our tour”
