  • VIVRE SA VIE was a turning point for Jean-Luc Godard and remains one of his most dynamic films, combining brilliant visual design with a tragic character study. Anna Karina plays Nana, a young Parisian who aspires to be an actress but instead ends up a prostitute.

You know how people these days complain how trailers make you feel you've watched the entire film? Godard was making trailers like that six decades ago; ahead of the curve, baby! ☺

Oh my, I LOVE the period setting, the music alone gets me interested in the film. And the acting seems well done as well.

catherine deneuve in the 60s is an anomaly, a surreal beauty that makes you want to destroy the universe. and just a little behind of her comes anna karina, with a dose of cuteness injected, and still deadly as hell. these two are forever my goddesses.

Not saying that's the only reason, but wonderful, out of this world, beauties such as Deneuve and Anna Karina are a stong reason for why I'm so infatuated with the french new wave.
