A beautiful video. I have a Belgian Malinois myself and she saved my life. She smelled stage 1 breast cancer when the doctors could not even find it. These are the best dogs ever
Just found one Belgian Malinois on a highway near the beach while driving. Well, he found me... I could see his bones so decided to go and buy a couple of dog food pouches, went back, fed him and even though my wife and I have a 4 months baby, we couldn’t say no. We took him to the vet and he was a 6 months dog, dehydrated and hungry pup. After 2 weeks he’s a happy, lovely and energetic pup, and I’m training him for basic commands. After 3 days he learned how to seat, and to follow me. I love the dog (Blacky) and he loves me 🤣 (wife gets jealous). Just have to teach him to be kind with the baby cause when he sees her, he tends to softly bite my babies feet, but nothing to worry about. Best decision ever!

I love when people know what they're getting into when choosing a breed like this and are willing to give them what they need. Not only is it a wast of the dogs potential if you don't work with them the way you do, but it's so miserable for the poor dog to be forced to live such a sedentary life when they know they can do so much more for you. Your dog is gorgeous and it thrills me to see you treat him/her right! ❤️
Katie Rosa , I agree 100%! I have wanted one for about 3 years now but I’m in graduate school and my husband is not very active so I’m waiting until next year at this time to buy myself my graduation present! A long awaited and overdue vacation and a Belgian Malinois!
@@patriciagrigsby-molina2460 you have no idea how happy it makes me to hear that! I'm glad you're willing to wait until you're ready instead of rushing into it. I wish you all the best when you get your Malinois. And good luck with school. ❤️
I got my malnois Bruce at 8 months old. Although he was house trained he had bad manners like chewing and counter surfing but really these dogs learn so fast and within 2 weeks he was done. I literally walked him between 35 and 40 miles a week. He's 2 now and when I say lets go for a walk, he hides. I literally walked him so much he hates it. He is not hyper at all. On July 1st I got him an 8 week old sister called Bella. We have had her 2 weeks and she is just about house trained AT 10 WEEKS Old!!! She also sits when I put her food in the bowl until I say she can get it. These dogs are easy to train, they are so smart and learn fast. I will never own another breed!!
Do they learn fast? I have pits and they are very smart but so stubborn training is more on going than not. Especially with the APBT. the Staffie, not so much. He isn't near as stubborn. Love the malanoise but don't really want another dog that requires constant training.
@@sandynoland3474 every dog needs constant training especially such a high energy breed like the malinois. My dog is only a chihuahua/shih Tzu mix and not a particularly high energy dog. She gets training every day plus her walk plus enrichment. There is always something new to train and it keeps her out of mischief and makes her use her brain. If you describe your dog as stubborn, you aren't using a high enough reinforcer.
@@rachelireland8904 it would help me greatly if my husband would participate in training but he doesn't. He also doesn't reinforce much either. He is finally starting to praise them more.
My favorite companion, hands down, was the Malinois I had as a kid. Perfectly loving and funny as a family dog, stunning and disciplined as a protector, smart, communicative, was great at playing Frisbee even if he, eventually, tore the Frisbee apart. I miss him everyday.
Greetings from Mechelen, dear friends, the hometown of the Malinois! Always great to see how a beautiful dog is loved and cared for! May you enjoy many blessed years together!
Don't listen to the people who are talking about choke chains and e-collars on here. Dogs are pack drive animals and those are two very good ways of utilizing positive punishment for dogs if utilized the proper way. I would say to work on your marker training a bit 😉 but all in all the pup looks great! As a trainer I can respect someone who is using the Malinois properly! Dogs definitely living a happy life.
Thank you for the support! We definitely do what is best for the dogs. This includes a safe, happy and productive life. We're constantly trying to improve our dog training as well!
Aww that's awesomeee. Wish I was more persistent with my Malinois' training. Didn't put much attention to it and now he's just kinda crazy... Awesome dog tho, love him to death.
I've never seen the need for an e-collar or choke chain. All my dogs were trained without the use of harmful equipment, even when they would go through a small time of stubbornness as pups. My dutch shepherd mix is probably the best dog I've ever had and will do all I ask of her and more. Having some problems with my new gsd, but he's getting there too. Just at a slower pace. Just need patience. :) Beautiful dog though.
Very well done 👍🏽 he reminds me of my girl. I miss when she was a pup. But shes all mellowed out now and does very well at responding to my commands. Its amazing the kind of bond we can create with dogs. Theres times where we will look at one another and she will know stuff like its time to go to her bed or time for a walk, etc. Just amazing.
My mali girl mellowed out too, at about 2 years old. Really surprised me, she is my first mal, and the first working breed dog I've had that calmed down before at least 7 years of age. I expected with a Malinois there would be no off switch until they get much older. I think it might be partly because she is a female. Still ready to go any time, to do anything outdoors, but she definitely has an off switch and she is only 2 1/2 years old.
Beautiful video. It's amazing to see how much dedication went into this dog since all showed clips include mental stimulation, activities and very diverse and sometimes demanding training, so basically everything this breed needs. The result is a beautifully raised well tempered dog!
I would recommend informing yourself about operant conditioning and trying what works best for you out of these methods. If you will try using aversive tools I'd highly recommend consulting a dog trainer or a seminar beforehand, so nothing goes wrong and nobody is hurt.
You have your collar in the wrong place. It needs to be up higher on their neck. Right at the jugular. Believe me, if you place the collar up high, they cannot pull and just a few jerks will get their attention. I have trained dogs, without treats with this method with total success. It takes 5 minutes to correct the pulling behavior doing it this way. It's really about training the humans to put the collar in the effective place. Just try it! It works for even the toughest cases. I learned directly from the "dog whisperer himsef", Ceasar Milan. Try it! And your dog won't take you for a walk anymore!

274 now. I watch this video and I start to miss mine more. Rip Sasha. Daddy still very much loves you and I can't wait til I see you again
This is fantastic that you got a dog like this and gave it so much interest and enjoyment in its life. Wow what a great dog well done. : )
Thank you, the dogs keep us active and make us happy in return.
Why does everybody all the sudden want a Belgian malinois?? They are not an easy breed to take care of.
Who wants easy? 😊 kids are way more difficult to raise
@@onthefence1492 yeah but it's not easy to walk a dog 2-4 miles every day. And that's on the low end.
@@talaverajr391 Walking 2-4 miles a day doesn't do much for a Mals energy level. Kick a tennis ball for 4 hours everyday, then take for a hike/walk. When ya get home, kick the tennis ball again :)
Equivalent energy of a Border Collie... Agree...do your homework!
got one in 2016, saved him from a bad breeder, he had a bad skin condition, but we fixed him in a few months, best decision ever, he is an amazing dog, a great companion, a very well trained guard dog and has a family who loves him and gives him as much active time as possible
He's telling baby, "I got you, tiny human."
Unfortunately My step dad caged his Belgian malinois for the rest of her life
I got my malnois Bruce at 8 months old.
Our puppy is cross breed with Akita , but so clever . house trained at 14 weeks . easy peasy .he is so clever .
Yeah all big dogs like this are, Labradors, GSD, Mallinois.. All happy to spend their time with you and learn new things.
This is giving me puppy feels 🧡😭 I love my Mali so much 🧡🧡🧡 best dog to train and cuddle 🙌
LOL, We must train first so we can cuddle!
Yeah my pup is not much the cuddler lol
My favorite part of the video was 3:29 where the pup laid down and rolled over to dodge. Super graceful and agile.
My favorite companion, hands down, was the Malinois I had as a kid. Perfectly loving and funny as a family dog, stunning and disciplined as a protector, smart, communicative, was great at playing Frisbee even if he, eventually, tore the Frisbee apart. I miss him everyday.
I loved this video! I just rescued a GSD/Malinois mix and he's been a handful but so easy to train. Great dogs if you have the time!
Thank you!
TIME is the key word!! I LOVE MINE!!
That strut while heeling against the wall at the beginning of the video put a smile on my face.
Malinois is like a giant squirrel, so agile.
Awesome dog tho, love him to death.
you can start training anytime!! don't be afraid to put yourself up for the task
So cute. Our Malinois came from the shelter. We got her when she was already 5 years old. Now she is a Film star, too. :)
That's so cool, you guys are awesome for taking in an older dog!
edufilm was your mali in movie? wow.... I watched Max 1 and 2, and all other films that featured dog...
Absolutely impeccable training and editing.
Thank you! Much respect for all of the money, time, and effort behind this video
Wish I had time and skills to work with Malinois like this. Such a great video👍👏👌
Beautiful dog though.
The dedication and patience to bring this Malinois up is beautiful 😭🙌🏻😍
Beautiful video.
It's amazing to see how much dedication went into this dog since all showed clips include mental stimulation, activities and very diverse and sometimes demanding training, so basically everything this breed needs.
The result is a beautifully raised well tempered dog!
Just got a 2 month old one. Can't wait to make these memories and I'm only two days in 😁
Please share your video with us when it is available! Have fun and good luck!

Wow! How amazing to see such a good inspirational training video with positive reinforcement and reward based training. Thank you for sharing!
You just can’t beat a mal I got one in my lap sleeping as we speak.
“Will work for food”
What a great owner with continuous efforts and what a great dog!!!
I can't even walk my dog on a leash without him choking himself.
If you can have food readily available you can easily train your dog not to do that. There’s a bunch of videos on here to guide you! 😁
I love women that love dogs
I had a Belgian Malinois.... She was hit and killed by a car on Sept 2nd.... Miss you pretty girl
Mine on Aug 16 ,was hit by a bike . She was 11months old .We called her Lisa .
