need more of thesee, i just started small cap sip last month based on CAGR, this video was insightful
Inta hype karke pata chala ki Index is the only way to go. Well 80% of my fund is invested in Index so I am going to be RICCCCHHHH
Ricchhh ka pata nahi pat financially independent ho jayega.
@@WHITE-pz8sv Hmm another blanket statement 😅
Thanks for saving my time 😂😂
And then there are funds which beat the index handsomely over longer time periods. Btw index fund will always give less than index return due to expense ratio.
Iska baat sunega toh tera ch**iya katega😂. Warren Buffet could replicate high index etf returns because of high Liquidity in s & p 500.
You Guys are Amazing. The level of effort and content you put forth is incredible. Everything that's best.
this is one of the most useful series and a channel i really appriciate you guys taking your time and really filling the void for which internet was even invented in the first place. Thank u guys soo much for bringing in quality consumer content rather than just exploiting
Bicycle part is all that was needed.
Your content is fab.. thanks & keep up 👍
You guys are providing valuable knowledge for zero price which is really amazing. Also I do think small caps have a good potential to do well in the next few years.
Thank you 🙌
Your content is awesome as always, but I believe there's room for improvement.
The reasons you guys gave for favoring index funds over mutual funds feels lacking.
As a newbie investor, I've noticed mutual funds with impressive track records, outperforming the index over different timeframes and showing strong Sharpe and beta ratios. So why not invest in those funds?
I suggest a more comprehensive approach, like conducting a backtest involving the top 10 mutual funds in 2009 and consistently investing via SIP for a decade. This method would offer a clearer comparison between actively managed mutual funds and passive index funds.
Also, considering Prateek sir's liking for index funds, as seen in his videos, I'm curious about the data-driven reasoning behind this preference.
Agreed, they might've compared all MFs against index
Can u mention the actively managed outperforming ones?

Angrej ka aulad hai😂. MFs are king if you use it strategically. India has low liquidity compared to America hence cannot expect returns like Warren Buffett
There are consistent good mutual funds in every category like Parag Parikh in Flexicap, Mirae Tax Saver in ELSS, Nippon India in Smallcap, Axis Bluechip in Largecap, Kotak/Mirae Emerging in Midcap, etc
The vid are straight up fire
Beautiful graphics.. Congrats to the team
Thank you 🙌
Buying a stock is easy, but buying the right stock without a time-tested strategy is incredibly hard. Hence what are the best stocks to buy now or put on a watchlist? I’ve been trying to grow my portfolio of $560K for sometime now, my major challenge is not knowing the best entry and exit strategie;s ... I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.
While there’s more pain to come, investors should look for stocks like Royal Philips NV and Alstom SA that have been beaten down enough that they’re a bargain or get a good portflio manager.
I'll suggest you create a diversification strategy because building a good financial-portfolio has been more complex since covid. Recently my colleague advised me to hire an advisor, surprisingly I have accrued over $120K under the guidance of my coach during this crash. She figured out Defensive strategies to protect my portfolio and make profit from this roller coaster market.
wow ,that’s stirring! Do you mind connecting me to your advisor please. I desperately need one to diversified my portfolio.

You can do your research and be on the lookout for one with intelligent strategies who'll help your portfolio maintain an unwavering and a progressive growth.
Well represented facts👌🏻
The basic premise of not just chasing the results was on point. But rest of the comparisons were actually not fair. Should have been comparison of each industry with just theur benchmark.
nice Hosting
Important topic with a touch of comedy... ❤❤
Hey thank you :)
There are consistent good mutual funds in every category like Parag Parikh in Flexicap, Mirae Tax Saver in ELSS, Nippon India in Smallcap, Axis Bluechip in Largecap, Kotak/Mirae Emerging in Midcap, etc
Nice explaination ..❤❤
Great talent to make complicated topic ...easy ❤❤
Next vedio please explain how to calculate the rolling returns & other ratios ...from zerodha...
Siva report ? Where to get it ?
Okay good point will try to cover this. Spiva report is published b S&P just google it.
Although content of the video is good but the title is misleading, instead of giving pointers on how to choose a mutual fund it ended up just promoting index funds. For active funds only bad stats were highlighted (like quickly brushing over 10 year performance of equity active funds vs index, not showing 5 year performance of active small cap vs index - more than 60% outperformed index). Unlike other videos, this one felt more promotional than informative. As a regular viewer of the channel, this is a feedback to keep contain unbiased and informative.
Awesome Great Initiative by Zerodha ❤❤❤
Thanks for your love ❤
Gzb video aaj usual
Thank you :)
Amazing video....I actually wanted at the right time😅😅😅
Thank you Zero1 team
Sir please bring more such videos on mutual fund . Thnx for this too.
Sure we will, thank you for watching :)
Good explanation!
Thank you
Hi Pratik, I am working as an MFD and I understand the market a little bit. This video gives a good knowledge about how one can select MF scheme. Actually the most important factor I see when thinking to invest in MF is to understand the goal, time period and risk apatite. Sometimes it happens that distributor doesn't want to loose a potential client so they give past performance data that convince that MF is get rich quick scheme. And sometimes in advance, clients have prejudice that if they are investing in MF, return must be extraordinary otherwise why to go for. As a distributor I always tell my clients to understand the real rate of return, goal and investment period. Even if clients asks me to park the money lumpsum way, I insist they do it with SIP which will somewhat give advantage of volatility digestion. The main ingredient in MF investing is to understand need, time and risk.
Appreciate your contribution, Nitin. Nicely put forward- true wealth is built one thoughtful step at a time. Stay tuned!
The editing is out of the world 🌎
Thank you ❤ kudos to the editors!
You are iteratively approaching methodology of selecting stocks in index mutual funds 😮, Hence, your returns is approaching returns of index...
The same guy told that SIP sucks😅. In this video you should have told to do SIP in index as well as lumpsum investing at down markets to know that check the video in the description or so.
Bhai where is the data? how did you choose best performing funds?
How you computed so much data over 9 years?
Don't put half baked videos
Humko dhakkan samjha hai kya
Please make a video about making a weekly/monthly budget for expenses. Btw you guys are doing an awesome work❤
Thanks a ton! Passed on your suggestion to our creator team. Stay tuned!
Thank you one more satisfaction I did good taking index fund
Can you please provide the exact Nifty 50 CAGR for the period invested for comparison?
what is key takeaway here?
only to invest in niftybees?
activity was amazing!! next video on crypto investing....
Thank you 🙌We will surely consider your suggestion for our upcoming videos.
I don't know if you would care to read this comment but I would suggest a back test which more often people do while investing in mutual funds.
More of that process after some good words for the channel. I always liked videos from zero1. I feel you guys are genuine and honestly try to address general myths of the market.
Find one fund with best returns from a year and keep on doing SIP for 10 years and let us know the result.
For example take the best returning fund of 2011 and don't churn it. Keep the SIP going for 2021 and share the result. 😊
As per the caption only large caps underperformed the index (83%/93%)…plz clarify whether that applies to all other categories too
Recently, I have been seeing videos on this topic everywhere.
Conspiracy theory: Don't invest in Quant funds based on their past results.
Arrey bhai aur bhi fund house, unke bhi to family, baal, bachche Hai. To Kya huya Ki woh alpha generate nahi kar pa raha to. You should still invest in those, because...
YOU SHOULD NOT INVEST BASED ON PAST PERFORMANCE.
KRIS KI COMPUTER LO AND INVEST BASED ON FUTURE PERFORMANCE... JAAADUUU, JAADUU
Exactly everyone is jealous of quant …:bhai maine october sey MF start kiya hai and quant mid has has given me 27 pc gains. Even nippon giving only 21 pc since october. QUANT ki jai ho
Please make video on index ETFs please
Below mentioned investment plan good or not, nifty50 index 25% nifty next 50 index 25% midcap 150 index 30% small cap 250 index 10% microcap 250 index 10%
What about the factor based index funds sir they beat the index by good margin
Stands true for large caps but other categories indexing isn't that effective
Another gem from your side.... couldn't have explained in any else effective n entertaining way.
Thank you for enlightening us.
Thank you for your encouraging words :)
This is actually a false or misleading video because one can choose any random year, as shown in the video, to get the outcome you wish. The top 3 AMCs(AUM wise) in small-cap MFs mostly beat the benchmark in a 10-15 year period. FYI:- Zerodha just launched their index fund.
Makes sense
i think u missed one thing in this video which is, not to SIP but lumpsum the amount at the time of RSI is under 10
90% of indivudal investors make losses; 83% of Managed MF underperforms! Very good video...i always had this question in mind that are there any ppl who have made 3x, 4x kind of returns from MF... i got the answer today
Glad to know that. Thank you so much for your love and support :)
I have a doubt regarding this. Why should I buy an index fund and not an ETF. Saves me the expense ratio and all other charges and basically I don't even have to look at them. If you could please explain
You could go for an ETF.
But for some ETFs (not Nifty bees and other big ones), there might be liquidity issues. And secondly you have to remember buying every month if you want regular investment to be made. But in the index fund it gets automated.
Rest not much difference. In Index fund the expense is slightly higher, but in ETFs you have to pay STT at time of buying and selling.
What about midcap smallcap?
sir make a video on how s.i.p works
Then y abhi told me to choose zerodha midcap 250 fund🤨
I bet Prateek is too much fun in real life too 😄
I am - Prateek
Just asking for clarification. How would the fund manager of an index fund invests in the stocks. Will he take equal amount ie for a nifty 50, would he invest the top 50 funds roughlt equally.... 🙃🙃
So any nifty 50 index is weighted by market cap. Which means the largest companies have larger weightage. It is not equally divided :) the fund manager in this case simply replicates the index.
@@Zero1byZerodha Not true sir, there's also Equal Weight Index Fund. I invested one of them of DSP AMC.
Correct, edited the comment above and changed ‘an index fund’ to ‘a nifty 50 index fund’. Thank you for pointing out will be useful to comment readers :)
Do a video on REITS if possible…
Check out our video on REITs: ruclips.net/video/r8IcTSj0wUk/видео.html
tat crucible quiz has 10 lakh cash prize , i want to play the quiz, make video on that
Parag Parekh flexi cap fund 🎉
one of the best
05:27 Spelling Mistake
1) Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund: 25% Allocation
2) HDFC Small Cap Fund: 25% Allocation
3) HDFC NIFTY 50 Index Fund: 50%
Strategy one failed because the returns were already factored in by the time u enter so chances of underperformance is increased
Correct, which is why we should not pick a mutual fund based on past returns.
Kuch bhi! Aise kaun invest karta h bhai! Been investing since 3 yrs in actively managed funds! Bought on dips! Returns are impressive 21.5%xirr (even after the small cap market crash)
Recently bought more when news of small cap came out!
Choose any good mutual fund and stay with it for the long term! That’s the key !
I expected checklist in the video, but this time didn't meet the expectations so if possible try make a video on this.
Really, how to pick up a mutual fund
Make in हिन्दी
Nice rigging of results.. Shameful behavior tbh 😒
Could you help us with some example? Where he has rigged?
कृपया हिन्दी में भी वीडियो डालें
Best way to invest in top 10 ETF and enjoy peace ✌️ 😂

Why don't you also tell in Hindi so my father and grandfather can understand too and most of North Indian belt people
This should've been the 1st ep....
Thank you Pavan
Agar vdo Hindi language me hota to kuch samjme Aya hota.
