      Yes I will never understand why people ski zones with poor visibility. They always make up an excuse for their stupidity.
      God invented trees for a reason. Go find some and have fun skiing!🎉

    You are inspirational, your drop in on lifty's leap for the 50 movie was mind blowing, and your pillow rides are awesome... been visiting wb for the past 22 years, havent hit half of it! Keep it up, commentary on the risks and approaches is absolutely the best - comes to mind when looking at what one is jumping into - love the stress of scoping below before you go up. Looking forward to seeing your Japan stuff - dream trip for me!! One day!! Just got the Echos (181) this year and paired with the Shift 13, technica HV boots and love the setup - Thanks Stan!

    Reminds me of skiing Hawaii 5-0 on opening weekend of the alpine chairs a few years back. Bony rock garden the whole way down. It's amazing how much those lines tame up with deeper snow packs!

    Haven’t done exhilaration cause I hear it’s a straight line. Loved Excitation when I did it with March conditions. Tried Alien (on glacier wall) in December and almost died since an ice layer froze over it, and I didn’t realize till I dropped in. Dilemma was cool but too short. Overall, fun ridge and I’m glad you captured it for us! And friggin kudos to you for doing these runs in that flat light! I would never

    Keep these up! Vicariously fun to see you struggle in the low viz! My fav line there is in between what you skied Excitation and Exhilaration, it's the steep (and longer) line that holds the best snow. What is that?

    • @stanrey7
      @stanrey7  8 месяцев назад

      That is the best line but didn’t feel confident skiing that line in these conditions cause the entrance looked tricky. That’s the upper entrance f Excitation more to the skiers right!

    Quite the day you picked to ski some of the gnarliest lines on Whistler, I gotta give you props just for surviving exhilaration in those conditions, you might have been the only guy on the mountain crazy enough to try it! Funny how conditions can make the difference between making grandma turns and backying off the pyramid at the bottom of Excitation :P
    Also, how do those new QST 116's handle (I think I heard QST X over the wind) compared to the old QST 118? I had a pair of those and loved how much rocker/how loose/surfy they were in deep snow. I find a lot of modern pow skis are trying too hard to be versatile for all conditions and I loved how the 118s were total boats with tons of rocker, making them perfect for deep trees/pillows.

    • @stanrey7
      @stanrey7  8 месяцев назад +1

      Ha it really is! I’ve straight lined the left chute in Exhilaration along with 10 Whistler freeride kids before. Haha the new QST X is awesome. Skis similar to the 118 but more surfy which I really like! It my fav pow ski that Salomon has made I think! That or the rocker 2 122.

    • @jasonfournier5235
      @jasonfournier5235 8 месяцев назад

      @@stanrey7 It honestly amazes me how many people will do that straightline, always seemed so consequential where you just have to point em and get in the right body position and hold on for dear life, what terrifies me is what happens if you end up just a foot or two in either direction and hit one of the rocks. Do you know anyone who has crashed doing that straight line?
      More surfy than the 118, that's saying something! You've got me intrigued!
