A four month sentence for someone who at least knew about everything is an absolute joke.
She did more than just know about it. She was just as guilty as him
She is the evil one. Lets see what kind job she gets, and to see if she would honor one day a year in jail deal for next 10 years. probably hire lawyers and making excuse and get away with even this deal?
Not only did she know; she helped planned it and took out money to pay the people.

I got adopted from Romania at 11. I grew up in poverty and when I was exposed to a comfortable life, I was forever grateful. I can’t imagine plotting my parents’ demise after all they’ve done for me and the opportunities and love they provided me with. Greed is a sickness of the mind
We say people are like metals. Some of them like iron and the rare good of them are like gold. And he’s rusty steel and you’re gold. Good for you
He is evil!!
I can imagine growing up adopted is extremely hard. Not feeling like you belong to anyone or have a tribe. I'm so happy you found a tribe and hope you make a tribe of your own. I just had my 1st daughter at 45. We have basically no family. Died off or just not part of our life. She has no brother or sis ,cousins or grandparents. It's my worst fear she ends up alone. I have a special place in my heart for people who have felt alone like you.
Wish you the best
Romania and Ukraine two very different countries and people!
It's refreshing to see a surviving parent who isn't in denial and doesn't forgive their monster child. Nick is a psychopath and Corey deserves to be free of him forever.
She is in denial that she raised him that way.
I think he has RAD-reactive attachment disorder or something. It is a huge problem for people who adopt a child that was in a group home or orphanage. They can’t really form a bond with their new parents. They also have a HUGE problem with FAS-Fetal alcohol syndrome 😢
Indeed, her approach to this entire story is very sane and rational, good for her!

Nicholas was so insincere & Jackie definitely got away with murderer. The hit-man expressed more regret than these 2 combined.
Exactly
What about the guys that were initially offered the job? Seems like they should have been charged for not going to the cops, esp given their previous arrest record
Couldn’t agree more.
You are so right. That one guy ASKED for the death penalty because he couldn’t sleep at night for what he did. Nick and Jackie are like, “what? What’s the problem??” So gross. I’m still ABSOLUTELY baffled at her getting 120 days. She wrote the initial check. Wth?? What did she do/say to have the DA decide THAT was the appropriate sentence for her??

@lynnalexander9674 why wouldn't you? It happened to me too. I feel guilty sometimes for feeling the same as this mother. It's difficult to feel love towards a child you no longer recognize.
My husband’s aunt went through something similar. Her daughter and her son in law killed her husband (her daughter’s dad) for money she would have inherited from his death. Her daughter recently got out but the son in law is still in jail.

Cory suffered a terrible loss of her husband and her son, yet she is determined to reclaim her life and keep going. Admirable.

I think it's easier to detach from an adopted child as horrible as it sounds. Both biological and adopted parents can be great parents, but the bond from a child you gave birth to is different.

Dateline did a more in depth story on this case. 48 Hours skipped over the part where her son & his wife tried deleting their texts messages but they didn’t realize that on Apple devices those messages are still saved on other Apple devices. For that woman to only get a few months is a disgrace because you don’t do things like try to delete your messages if you are not an active participant in the crime.
Even if one is a passive participant, they would still try to hide the crime. She didn’t stand to gain directly from the death of the Nick’s parents. She is to the crime, what a catalyst is to a chemical reaction.
@@vikramadoddamani first, that is COMPLETELY false. If you are a passive participant who doesn’t really know what’s going on you don’t actively try & hide your role, it’s just that simple.

This was such a heinous crime. Thank goodness for these documentaries.
They help me to better understand the evil that exists in this world.
The saying "Money is the root of all evil" is 💯 true. It makes people do the most heinous things. “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” (Matthew 19:24).

Money and religion is the deadliest thing ever conceived. More people have died from those two things than anything else in the world combined.
Ya think?? spoiled kids end up with a sense of entitlement. Yeah. We know!
@@lookingbehind6335that's a ridiculous quote that has no basis. Do you have numbers to back up that silly quote?? 😂😂😂
And God and "religion" are two different things!
@@lookingbehind6335so you think "religion" takes out more people than cancer?? 🤣🤣🤣
I really like true crime stories!
Can’t imagine the heartbreak Corey feels by losing Ted at the hands of a son she loved so much and gave everything to 💔
Disgusting that Jackie was only given 120 days! Hopefully Karma catches up with her soon
Yes. Once a sin (crime) has been committed, it is rare for the person to think of committing it again as unthinkable....especially, since she got away scott free....how is she, an obvious sociopath or psychopath going to be able to resist when greed and selfishness rears its' ugly head next time?
' No good deed goes unpunished '
I feel really sad for her
These young adults are degenerate. Lord-poor Corey, she lost her husband and her sense of safety. This case was beyond disturbing. That District Attorney's decision failed our Nation's laws.🤦🏾
Corey has enormous mental strength. God bless her.
I am so sorry to see this loving compassionate woman go through this. How many orphans wished to have her as their mom instead of this boy? He won the lottery and yet it was not enough.
What an idiot for a child! They took him out of NOWHERE, they gave him EVERYTHING but still it wasn’t enough…
Imagine being killed by the child you adopted and raised with everything they ever needed and more...damn.
Corey, my heart goes to you! You are a beautiful, strong, amazing woman!
What a damn shame . Doesn’t surprise me though …children adopted from orphanages from east Europe have usually gone through trauma & abandonment issues and when they’re as old as Nick was when he was adopted , they can develop severe issues of resentment , anger & detachment from their ” new “ parents . We’ve seen it time and time again.
This case is a perfect illustration of how much of a joke our justice system is.
That DA looks like a joker
“Now you’re concerned about your mother?” I’m sorry, I laughed. Because seriously? Truly sad that your own son plots because of greed.
120 days vs 35 years!!!????? Anyone would have taken that plea deal! Its like winning a lottery!
Its a shame!!!
What a heart breaking story. I just want to hug her and tell her how sorry I am.
Our broken justice system never fails to amaze me.
Jackie got 120 days?!?!? 🤯
Justice isn't it? THE ONLY thing I can hope is that anything She does in her life, someone will google her name and find out who she really is.
@@driley5004Goes in the size of a pinky out like a dinner plate 🍽 😋. Problem solved!😮😮😊😊😊
This one hits hard. How can she recover from that betrayal. Everything you thought to be true. Gone.
This is a heartbreaking story. So often young ungrateful kids want to cut corners and do terrible things to steal what their parents/grandparents worked so hard for. Prayers for the mother and her family 🙏🏼❤
I keep thinking about that poor puppy. He gave his life to protect his family. Dogs are extremely loyal. Humans? Not so much.
The dog was deaf too, just to make it worse.
The husband who tried to protect his wife and home would say otherwise.
@@Shadowfax0113they were referring to the spoiled ungrateful son
@@Prettykittychimi How sad that people think animals are disposable. Poor pup.
Was the murderer also charged with cruelty to animals?
