Samsonov is my idol in TT. Not only because i have a somewhat similar bodytype, but also because of his tactics, his coolness and his style of playing. He's so effortless, aware of the ball and yet he has that killerinstic going in and finishing the point, when its needed! Masterclass!

Samsonov is one of the best defensive players on the circuit, without being a chopper. He doesn't move back and lob as much as Maze, though. His blocking game is second to none. The top Euro players can beat any of the Chinese on a good day.

People get rattled when they see you blocking their hardest hit. You use this opportunity to get the point. I love this kind of play. It truly defines what Table Tennis is...
im not a professional sportsman and i have no idea how they considering whose points, but personally i dislike that kind of moves, when you compete and want to win, do your best to win, dont give up anything. Theres nothing wrong in losing 0 to 11, shake hands after the match, no one needs that "mercy". I am not judging or something, perhaps it's some kind of tt ethics i suppose.

Samsonov Is really dangerous. So difficult. Who'd believe? When I started to watch him he seemed really slow and big, like easy opponent. But damn he is really dangerous.
Xu Xin had so much problems finding the edge of the table, there are like a dozen rallies where he just keeps hitting forehand to forehand shots, with no variation at all, afraid to switch to Samsonovs backhand, and Vladimir calmly blocks them all. He wasmt really tested here. Xin also didint really learn from lessons till the very last set, constantly losing points the same way (e.g.: attacking Samsonovs forehand pendulum serve on the return immediately, and receiving a blistering backhand block)
