    Very cool watch and I really appreciate FC for bringing innovative tech to the masses at a reasonable price point.

    This is incredible. That second hand is the next smoothest to Grand Seiko's system. I'm amazed at the price of this. I'd love to see it used on other styles of watch. This is going to be really big in my opinion...

      @@Antonio-qn2el I have 3 that I purchased to flip. All are worldtimers. And really enjoy them, regret not getting a blue one. I would love to get my hands on a blue dial highlife. I'm not sure you can beat FC for classy design + swiss made on a budget.

      @@georged822 you specifically got 3 to flip, well bellow msrp right? one of the problems that put me off from getting into the brand is its low demand and value retention in second hand markets. I've seen worldtimers bellow 2k that didnt sell -classic, non HL versions-, and right now there's a perpetual on chrono24 that has been sitting for months bellow 6k -which to me is insane- that is not selling.

    What I’d like to know about this movement is: (1) how’s the accuracy, (2) what’s the expected service interval, and (3) what’s the expected service cost. I can’t find that information anywhere.

    Have they solved the accuracy problems? Too many reporting results far past promised COSC standards. People have had to return their watches for servicing and still no solution.

      As an owner, I can confirm the watch does NOT keep super accurate time. Do I care that it's off a couple of minutes per day? Not one bit. I don't wear this except for special occasions, so I don't care one iota about accuracy. I wear it because I love the look and the tech.

    FC really used this technological breakthrough in the worst way possible, really wish anyone else had invented this but them. They created a calming smooth sweep, but then featured the seizure inducing escapement on the dial, a classical looking dial no less. I get what they were going for but it doesn't work.
    My personal minor gripe : their take on breguet hands. They're supposed to be legible because of the relative position of the holes, but they've managed to create a version where both holes are the same distance from the pinion.

    • @michaelmccumber7550
      @michaelmccumber7550 8 месяцев назад +2

      Given that this is the first model to feature this technology in the FC catalogue, I think it’s entirely appropriate to have an open heart display for the unique escapement. If you take issue with the shaky look of the high frequency mass, every other example of monobloc silicon escapement are far worse culprits especially Vaucher in the case of the Zenith Defy Lab.
      All things considered, this is a ~$5000 watch featuring breakthrough escapement technology that outperforms movements made by haute horology manufacturers producing movements for brands like zenith in examples that are far more expensive, limited, and conceptual. This is a production watch that is punching way out of its weight class, I think FC would be stupid to not feature a display, especially for a limited run.
      I do think it would be nice to have a none open heart display version, but with all of the facts considered, the movement is a spectacle not a contemporary run of the mill piece

    • @mybrainlikesthings

      You can't see the movement with the naked eye. The effect seen here is caused by a mistmatch between the frequency of the camera and the frequency of the movement.

    Get off the stupid hacking seconds. It’s bad for the watch. It’s unnecessary. An affectation that you think is really important but it isn’t. To sync a watch to the second that is at best +-4/6 seconds as day is a fool’s errand.

      @@nightstalker824 no sir. I did not. But my point stands. As confirmed by Mr. Mosso forcing the hack and then it not restarting. It’s an unnecessary, caused undue wear and puts excessive strain on the mechanism.

      This particular watch needs a small bump to re-kickstart the movement. He did it off screen. It won’t just start again. It needs a bit of kinetic energy to release all that stored potential energy and get its wiggle going again.
      I think the tech is revolutionary. I also think it’s been poorly marketed and poorly implemented. They need to come out with a whole line of monolithic watches. Not just one and then a special edition. The more they make, the lower the price can be.
      Also. I do think they have had issues with the movement both timing and reliability wise. So they may be working on that before really cranking up production.

    • @huxleyorwellrand3137
      @huxleyorwellrand3137 8 месяцев назад

      @@docskeekmo love the tech. Also the super smooth sweep is astounding. All the more reason not to focus so much on the hacking bit. On a tourby or a perp why would you look for such a function when there are much more interesting features? These are mechanical marvels whose existence is due to our love of the mechanical nature of it. If you want to have exacting time accuracy, look at your phone. IMHO the hacking function is superfluous and needlessly wears on the movement.

    • @mercuriall2810

      @@docskeekmoFC did make a lot of noise in the early days about more watches with the monolithic technology and hinted that it would entirely replace the Swiss lever.
      The ongoing issues with timekeeping falling well out of the “within COSC” specs, including in watches returned to them in Switzerland for “reregulation and component replacement” is almost certainly the reason (as you suggest) that they have not used this technology a lot more.
      They used to advertise that the first monolithic release would be “within COSC specs” but with future models they would fine tune them to “well above COSC” accuracy. That claim has so far fallen flat on its face.
      A great shame, I really like the monolithic idea and the watches.
