    Its and everything depends on the type of capacitors.

      @@homemade_audio Thank you for your response.The reason i asked the question is this AUDYN 450v capacitor you are using which sounds like giving a boost to the sound when is connected despite the fact that is cutting the high frequencies.I did the same experiment using an old Tesla cap 50uf 250v and an 8 inch jbl woofer and the effect was not the same.The high frequencies where cut but without affecting the overall performance of the speaker.So my question is :using a hi end capacitor like the one you are using will affect the overall sound of the speaker or maybe it was my idea that something like that happened in the video?Thanks omce again for the beautifull video.

    • @1974UTuber
      @1974UTuber Год назад +1

      @Dimitris Raggas the component values you use will depend specifically on the response your drivers are capable of.
      The crossover is used to tune the signals that are permitted to flow through to your speaker/drivers.
      To cut high frequency signals from your woofers and prevent low frequency signals getting to your tweeters etc
      You can't slap a low pass filter capacitor on a mid range speaker and miraculously obtain 15Hz bass notes from it.
      Crossover is there to distribute the signals to the drivers that they are capable of reproducing only

    Hi. What sort of a Resistor should I used to match speakers (4 ohms) with my amplifier (6 ohms). 2 ohms of resistor (s) in series is fine right...? What about the resistors power ( like 5w, 10w so on).
    TIA 😊

    • @homemade_audio
      @homemade_audio  Год назад +1

      Adding a resistor to a loudspeaker does not vary its impedance, but the overall resistance of the circuit. To vary the impedance it is necessary to use an impedance transformer.
      adding a resistor ( 2ohms 10 watts) can protect your amp but it can also change the speaker response.
