Basicaly, one crit rune is an exchange of 1 ad for chance to actually crit AT ALL. in 100 attacks you will deal generally equal amount of bonus damage, right? At least when you have 100 damage auto, that is. But heres the thing... You will never be able to deal 100 attacks. Generally in 1 on 1 slugfest you throw out 5, maximum 10 autos (because of abilities you dont neet more). So, how many times your opponent lived with 10-15 HP (aka damage you havent dealt without 1 extra ad)? Couple times a month that can happen, yes. But more often than not they escape with about 50 hp. Crit rune can turn those fights with about 60 extra surprise damage lvl 1 (if you rockin 1 crit, you rockin 8 ads, and I cant remember champs with less than 50something base damage). So, yeah.
