Don't tell them I got 90000 for my L5S1 fracture and went in for neck surgery and 8 days latter it was all gone with nothing to show for it. Then he did the same whats yours is yours what mine is mine. Coarse I don't know what he did with the 90000 and everything of mine after dropping a car on me all titles were made open at the local bank as he stood over me. They didn't seem to mind expediting the crime. I even said this is robbery in a bank. They started shaking like I was robbing the bank. I said no im talking about all these titles you are facilitating the transfer of. Money curupts. The car he dropped on me was two mo the before my life insurance was to expire. Accident two happened on my birthday, policy expired at midnight. Money makes people do bad things.

Ladies, PLEASE don’t ever accept legal advice from soap operas or random people on the internet. Get a competent lawyer; you won’t necessarily get the answer you want to hear, but it can keep you from screwing yourself over even worse like the woman in this show just did. It won’t go well for you if you try to conceal assets during a divorce.

@@muchlove4u271 I’m not divorced, but I’m aware of the laws requiring both spouses to disclose _all_ assets and debts during divorce proceedings; even if you’re separated, you’re obligated to disclose assets and debts until the divorce is finalized. The “advice” you’re sharing here would screw over anyone who actually follows it irl.

@@muchlove4u271 I’m not divorced, but if I ever needed a divorce lawyer I’d choose a competent attorney who knows and follows the actual laws, as opposed to one who operates as if real life is a made-for-TV movie and sets me up to get screwed somewhere down the line.

Good for her!! I had to do the same thing when I was getting divorced. It wasn’t about a lottery ticket, though it was about buying a new car. I had to wait until the divorce paperwork was signed. Then I could sign the paperwork for the new car, otherwise he would’ve tried to take it as a marital asset. Thank God, my lawyer let me know what to do.

The wife got him back good by winning the lottery for 9M dollars, and she is keeping all of the winning money. The husband wanted to leave his future ex-wife, broke and homeless. No, in this case there’s no imitation. Your BIL did the right thing by disclosing the winnings, and his ex got what she deserved as a greedy b**ch. In the case of this show, the woman illegally concealed an asset and could potentially be the one to end up with nothing after the court is done with her.
She won the money before signing the papers. In addition, If they live in a community property state he gets 1/2, even if they were legally separated at the time of winning. Winnings are separate property only if won after the final divorce decree.

This is because people with terminal illnesses are susceptible to massive amounts of fraudulent claims and accounts started in their names. It is truly despicable and carried out by some of the highest names in banking and insurance as well as consumer credit. Disgusting.

It’s grounds to invalidate whatever agreement he just signed, and in some states the court can go further by giving him _even more_ of the money, as a punitive measure against the woman for deliberately failing to disclose an asset.
