I felt so, so sorry for Jackson, Bryce, Ryan, and Sebastian. Nobody, especially a child should ever have to go through traumatic experiences or be ignored by their parents. THIS is what public schools need now. With test scores lower than ever and more and more troubling students with bad backgrounds coming in, someone who can resonate with students on their issues and passions and feel like they can trust and connect with teachers is who we need in schools. Even if you threaten with detention, suspension, or expulsion, they don't care. They want someone who makes learning fun, resonates with them, and grows with them

Every student needs a teacher like this. I feel like teacher don't care about students and only care about getting their job done. The reason why students fail to enjoy school and get motivation is partly the teachers too. If every student had a teacher like this, so many students would be enjoying school and having a better high school life.
Some teachers are like that. It is tragic although true. My kindergarten teacher was amazing. My third grade teacher gave me night terrors. For Years. I started to stutter from her being so vicious to me about my learning issues.
Love that! When it comes to fights, it's better to be calm and smart than violent and aggressive. We need more teachers like Mr Wang for sure - a teacher who can inspire, make a difference and can reach their students! This has become one of my favourite videos!

Wow! I must say that after I heard the backstories of Jackson, Bryce, Ryan, and Sebastian, I felt so bad for them. Nobody should deserve to go through traumatic experiences or unsupportive parents. I'm so impressed by the way Mr. Wang understand their situations and find ways to help and support them out; that way, they can change for the better. In my book, he's the best teacher the school ever had and everyone is lucky to have him as a teacher. "You attract more bees with honey than you do vinegar."

Most teachers have 80-100 students. It is virtually impossible to give that much attention to each one sadly. As a teacher myself, I try to do what I can and as much as I can, but it is never enough.

It is a *joy* to teach a class as small as the one depicted here because in a class that small, you really can (and really should...something I make a point of doing) get to understand and tailor your lessons for each student.

I want to be able to help students feel comfortable and better about themselves while also ensuring them that school can be a safe space where everyone gets to be who they want to be without hiding. I wanna be someone that students feel like they can talk to if they need help or if they feel the urge to let out their feelings somewhere, i wanna be that “somewhere”. Imagine being the reason and motivation to why students are able to go to school, it’s such a heartwarming feeling.

I really, really like this there's a great, great lesson for all the children who have attitudes. I even cry 'cause it looks real & honesty. A great learning for us parents to notify what our children's interests are in their lives & I absolutely love this. Thanks a lot & God be with u all.

I feel bad for these four guys because of their troubled past. When I was in my early teens there was an older guy in our school. He started to pick on me a lot and bullied me, but when I fought back, I was the one to blame. Because he gaslighted the teachers and my mom. He was on the local football team, was a school DJ, active member of the local church community, so he was a "golden child" in the school. And I was a teacher's kid, who was just supposed to be pitch perfect, not to fight back, not to swear, etc.
