Despite the intentional OTT, it looks like it hurt and even if your nails weren't part of your job, having one broken nail is frustrating as hell.
You can’t tell when your nails are swatched and at an angle on a bottle. But when you hold your hands straight you can tell the c curve is off. I’m impressed that you did as well as you did.
If gel drips too much turn your hand upside down and all the gel will go to the apex naturally.
You got this! Way to grow!
Cris, you gotta get one of those C curve tools! They look like tweezers, but it'll pinch the tip of the nail into a tighter C curve for you. I've seen Suzie use them 🙂
I'd leave those to professionals, it's way too easy to rip your nail plate off the nail bed with those

I grew out my nails and started painting them about three years ago because of you, I'm absolutely obsessed with my nails and I love being apart of this community of nail artists... I started working at FedEx about a year ago and having to keep them just a bit past my fingers kills me, especially because I STILL have broken my nails (ALMOST ALWAYS THE MIDDLE FINGER) like five times since I started 🤧 the pain and the tragedy never gets better 😥My condolences!!!!!!

There's a way to get a strong c curve with acrylic, but you need to get rid of the rest of the broken nail. And pinch the acrylic while it cures with tweezers
I know it’s not the end of the world, but breaking a nail is super frustrating even for us normal people! Now that I know, I can see in the swatch photos, but I didn’t notice before you told me. I think you did a great job with the builder gel!
I’m so sorry for your traumatic loss! Yes another will grow but it will take a long time for the trauma to heal and the new nail to be accepted. RIP 🖕you will be missed! 💔😭😫😼😾😿

What you did is really impressive though! I broke a nail a couple of weeks ago and had it rebuilt with polygel. And it looks very similar to your's, a little wider than other nails and much flatter (because the form can't give that much c-curve just as you said) and it was done by a professional nail tech! So I think you did a great job

Honestly for nails that long, her nails are strong.
When I break a nail (often), I typically rip it right off and move on 😂. I feel like a monster 😅
The problem is her nails are her career. I don't think she'd react as much if she didn't do youtube or own a company.

I'm a dealer in a casino. Haven't been able to grow my nails since I got this stupid job! The clay in the chips and felt on the tables wears them down like crazy. I too, feel like a monster-a savage. The pain is real.
I live vicariously thru Cristine but now this has happened. I feel so lost. Nothing makes sense anymore. RIP Nailie.

I've had a break that was more in th nailbed.PAIN! RIP simply nail.
As some who's been learning gel and using forms, if you cut perpendicular to your nail on the form right under where the form sits against your finger, then you can pinch the form even more. I've seen this with russian nail techs. Or you can partially cure the gel, put pinching tweezers on, and then cure fully.

My natural nails curve just like yours! The longer they get the skinner they are 😂 Making a believable patch never looks quite right. I’ve always wondered if they were left to grow long enough if the sides would curve in and touch lmao
So while I think the fake nail is a little flatter and thicker than your normal nail, it is your middle finger, which is the widest nail of your four fingers. I think that helps disguise the difference and its not as obvious as if it were your index or ring finger. Its totally fine.

When the release dropped I didn't notice anything off with the swatches until I remembered to look, so 100% passed as a natural nail in my eyes. 😊 Also, slightly off-topic but Ben's nails looked really good in the swatches too, were they grown out a little???

Simply I hit a car door on my thumb and lost my nail back in february, it was horrible, i didn’t paint my nails for months, i now have a nail but it grew back kinda wonky on the top, like it looks dented, but towards the bottom it’s growing in smooth so hopefully it will end up looking normal.
Simply will never be cancelled...PIEROD.

tip: use hard gel or acrygel the consistency is more mouldable and less runny, that way you cand make them slim/curved as you like
Simply over here feeling like her career & life are over for a broken nail, and I'm over here intentionally breaking my nails because ~~dermatilimania~~ and genuinely feel a sense of excitement when one breaks on accident because it gives me an excuse to experience the sweet picking sensation
Christine, your nails have quite strong curve. There's one of the good ways for curved nailbeds to extend the nail that looks like your natural nail (I'm sorry for advising) . Pinch the paper form as thin as possible, then apply acrygel (not liquid gel) 0,7 - 1mm thick on the sides and 3mm on the top (for the apex) cure it for 15 sec, pinch the nail with a pinching tool (a clamp) (it mustn't be painful) and cure for 60 sec, remove the clamp and cure for 30 sec. File & shape etc. There're many videos on the RUclips about this method.

tbh i think the fake nail looks fine? like we notice it because we've stared at your nails so much, but with polish on, it just looks like a regular nail. people's nail are not all one uniform shape all the time, so while it IS noticeably different from the others if you're looking for it, it still looks like a normal nail shape. my sympathies, though. that was a really nasty break, and it's gonna take awhile to grow it out enough that you'll feel comfortable filing it down.

Both my middle nails broke multiple times ever since the chrome collection. Taking nail vitamins seemed to help.

Omg I’m currently going through the same loss 😭 I usually have nails even longer than hers on Stiletto shape but it came to such a point that the only solution was to file all of them down 🥺

RUclips scares me. this gets recommended to me after I broke my left middle finger nail today turning off the alarm clock on my phone which was in my pocket because I got up early.
I had a RUclips ad pop up right after the photo of the broken nail came up and the girl in the ad said “that’s embarrassing, why did I show that to the whole internet” ….
My nail keeps breaking on my left hand so I put a fake nail on too. Same nail and hand as you. So I feel your pain

i would superglue it and put some gel on top. i held onto one for almost a month since it broke deep, and i was waiting for it to grow out and then i stopped gluing it.

Cats don't always land on their paws right or at all if dropped. So it's better not to drop them.
This is a random suggestion, but Cristine you should take collagen to help your nail grow faster! I have really brittle & slow growing nails and collagen helped tremendously with speed of growth as well as integrity! It's great for other things as well, and there's no side effects to taking it as it's naturally produced in our bodies :)

My nails are narrow too, but my middle nails are wider. So I think it could be seen as natural looking.
Do you have a strong nails routine? My natural nails can grow pretty long, also my nail beds are nice and long. But typically my thumb nail and/or pointer finger tend to break. It might just be from work and lifting semi heavy objects. Any tips?

My first nail break since growing my naiks for tbe first time was also because of my cat.
I was walking and he tripped me and I fell and on trying to catch myself, I hit my right hand on my bed frame and my thumb nail snapped 😭
And that too, half way up my nail bed so I had to let it grow out somehow (and I had no nail glue or anything like that) So I globbed on top coat and tea bad and somehow let it grow out for 2 weeks and then had to trim it down.
I didnt cut down the rest of my nails too much tho.
Thanks for listening to me rant. I'm glad to inform that I have both hands pretty long and with gradient + holo on them ❤
This allows opportunity for thoughts about making a nail growth oil and or a strong polish to protect nails

I had something similar happen to me but with one of my front teeth. My smaller dog was in my lap and she was getting off my lap and accidentally hit her head on my lower jaw and my teeth hit each hard. It got fixed.
Then my big dog accidentally hit my jaw but not as hard as the first incident, but the middle of the same tooth broke and it’s fixed.
I don’t blame my dogs and I actually laugh about it. Both of my dogs are okay after the incidents btw. And I think that both incidents happened a year apart because they happened during the summer.

Did you use builder gel? It's much easier to sculpt and isn't so runny. I think to get a c curve you need to use a nail form and some kind of clip maybe? I vaguely remember somebody using a clip of some type to make a C curve.😢
