    Supposedly overexposing 2/3rd to 1 stop and then developing in E6 chemistry will produce some nice positive slides, since Aerocolor has a transparent base. Would love to see you experiment with that and make a video!

      Yeah I think Analogue Resurgence did a video on that!

    Love the beach shots! I have some rolls of Santacolor 100, which is the same thing, but lacking sunlight up here in the north atm😄I managed to shoot a roll in late fall, and the colours were great!

    It is more like fuji superia premium 400 the way it renders color, but more on contrasty side of things. Great work, Hashem!

    shot 2 rolls of flickfilm's Elaktra 100 and the results are surprisingly good after rescanning it with plustek+silverfast. the scans from my lab ( noritsu) were somehow desaturated and lacking blues. This is probably my go-to film for the next few years.

    This looks lovely ! Doesn’t seem like a more saturated version of Color Chrome on Fujifilm cameras ? Amazing tones and colours !

      I didn't use that sim when I had my X100V, but I reckon you could get pretty close with a custom recipe using that as a base :-)

    New to the hobby, just wondering what it means by re rolled Kodak? Thanks!

    • @vestrel2530
      @vestrel2530 Год назад

      It just means that Kodak makes the film itself, and then Popho buy it in bulk to put it in their own canisters and sell themselves.

    I just tried this film out and I'm kind of disappointed, I can't tell if its from user error, heat damage, or developer error, but the images look kind of smudgy and the darks/shadows are just black pits, any ideas?

    Interesting! I really hope you're right about the Santa Color 100. I've 8 rolls of that and it's just sitting in the fridge waiting for the sun to return to the northern hemisphere. Not much sun here in Sweden since I got the package. It looks like a stock I will enjoy. It seems to have more similarities with Fujifilm Superia Xtra 400 than any Kodak stock I've shot. Would you agree with that?
    Thanks again
    /Robert

      @pushingfilm  Год назад +1

      Having shot a lot of Superia 400 it looks different to me. Once similarity though is that they can both have a strong red cast in my experience.

      @Pushing Film that's what I were after. The yellow i don't recognise though. Do you think that the greens look a bit similar?
      It will be really interesting to see the results from Santa Color 100. Maybe the light here will make it look a slightly bit different, I don't know. I've seen that we most films that hues kind of shifts a bit depending on where on earth you live.
      Thanks for the answer.

    Might also be the same as Lomo 100?

    The orange-red mask which colors nearly all C-41 film exists because it is required to yield the most accurate color reproduction when that film is printed onto traditional color print paper, currently the RA-4 process. Film scanners made for commercial use, well really all film scanners, have circuitry designed to negate the color cast of that mask when scanning to produce a digital image from the film. Aerocolor (or Luminar here) doesn't have that mask because it was never intended to be used to make accurate color enlargements with a wet darkroom process, so no mask is required. So when Areocolor is film scanned in today's processing lab, the scanner is trying to tweak removal of a color mask which isn't there. This film may be the only instance where using a digital camera to photograph and convert a color negative film into a positive digital image has a distinct advantage, as that system is not pre-loaded to remove a C-41 color mask overlay. All you have to do is use a "post processing" application which is not locked into trying to remove that color mask. I personally think that using a DSLR and macro copy rig to pull positive images from color negatives is the most misbegotten excuse for not having quality film scanners available, but if I was locked into that presently popular activity, I''d seriously consider switching to Aerocolor for all of my 35mm color.
