A "... color film that wants to be color film" is a perfect way to put it, and a perfect way to describe what I hope comes out more and more from film manufacturers.
Having just watched the detailed video on RUclips on how Kodak colour film is made, I think it’s a miracle that anyone would even think about taking on colour film production. Hats off to them
I have enjoyed your content very much. I started my 35mm/120/620 film usage around 1970. If I may share regarding Adox ... I was a young teenager, and my interest in photography was greatly aided by an interested father. Dad would pick up various films for me and Adox B&W was one that I used. (Amusingly as we grow older we remember the most accurate details from our youth, right?) That green box pictured KB 21, at 1:15 looks instantly familiar to me. A happy recall of a distant memory. 😁🎞📷
Great review on Color Mission 200, I missed out on the product launch as I supported the launch of Cinestill 400D instead. When we interviewed Lina Bessenova on the Classic Camera Revival, she told us Fotoimpex blew through the first run of Color Mission 200 in a matter of hours. I love what you got out of your review images, looks like an old Agfa consumer film from the 1990s.
Hey so SINCE you mentioned Ferrania.... they just put out the first update in a long time in August. Talks about a new batch of P30 and some other hopeful progress points. Loved the vid!
Fotoimpex is my go to place for everything film photography. Recently got my hands on 3 rolls of that stuff. Kodak gold has been out of stock for weeks now unfortunately.
I hope the supply will become more consistent. I bought 2 rolls in the first run and I'm definitely holding off shooting the second roll until I can get my hands on more of this stuff
I tested this film back in March 2022. I'm happy that there is a new film on the market but in the end, I didn't like its results. Great review and points mentioned!
I haven´t got any rolls of this film to test, but based on the pictures posted in the internet, this film looks very similar to some of the Afga consumer films of the 1990´s. I hope Adox will be able to make their own color film some day.
I just managed to get three rolls of Color Mission from Fotoimpex. Unfortunately it´s been raining for the whole week, but I will test this film when the weather gets better. I´ll write my comments here after I´ve made some prints.
I would be so happy if they made a high ISO color negative or slide film. (High ISO for negative would be 800+, high ISO for slide film these days would be 400+) Very good things are happening guys! The future is bright, I'm sure of it!
I'm from Europe, this negative is very expensive and shipping costs are a failure even with us. So expensive that the old Kodak negatives are cheaper. Even though they have a high price.
I spoke Mirko and Lina a month ago on an event, they told that in 5 hours they sold as much rolls of ColorMission as they are used to sells of Portra 400 in a year. Much more than expected, so I don't know if it will be around on four years. The supply is not very high because putting the stickers on the "black tube" is manual labour. They have their boxing machine ready but were at that moment waiting for the cardboard to arrive. With the current labour market in Europe it is really hard to find workers so there is also no way to speed up the current way of packing. There is already something out made entirely by Adox: Helios. It is not as finished as Color Mission but will be available in other formats like 120, 4x5 and 8x10 as well.
I love Adox, Color Mission hmm soso. Shot 2 rolls, colours are fine, but too much grain for my taste... that said, i developed them by myself using Digibase C-41 Kit which works great with all the other negative C41 films...
Appreciate the insight but dude it looks like you are solidly underexposing your films, what camera are you shooting with? The Ektar and Gold shots also looked underexposed.
@@AnalogResurgence I hear you, any idea why it's looking so underexposed? Are you shooting it at box speed and what do you meter for in a scene? The shadowed areas in a lot of these shots especially aren't looking right, maybe it's a scanning issue?
I’m not sure I would consider any of this underexposed, so I’m not too sure what to say. Everything here is box speed, scanned on noritsu lab scanners, and healthy looking negatives! There’s always a chance that the screen you’re viewing this video on is impacting things in a certain way
I like that it comes back into stock randomly, which is nice rather than it just being all sold at once, forcing us to buy from resellers

Shoutout smarter every day, still waiting for pt3
I've shot this as well. Its quite nice but it gobbles light like a fuji stock. I shot a few frames at +2/3 ev and it looked great.

I would definitely shoot this if it was more available. It has a pretty unique look that I wasn't expecting.
Thanks!

I hope that I can get hold on some rolls from adox someday and try it out! The colours and the contrast in the photo at 4:50 was really neat

Just yesterday I wondered if you ´d make a video about this. This was unexpected!
Great info about the film, need to try it out!
I've seen some photos and it seems this stock looks especially nice with darker skintones.
I've got a roll I mean to shoot soon. But at that price and with that availability it's a thing for special occasions, I feel.
I hope they are able to provide much more colour films!
Awesome video, I missed my chance to get some, but I love your results!!! I definitely see the Kodak Gold look!!!

just bought a roll in Berlin, looking forward to shoot it !
The pictures produced remind me of the 3M Scotch color print film that I used long ago when I was trying to save money.
I tested this film back in March 2022. I'm happy that there is a new film on the market but in the end, I didn't like its results. Great review and points mentioned!
I'm excited....I scored a roll for $50 with shipping....shipping from Germany.

Tried a few rolls, very interesting film even though big fan of it. But wanna support the company 😍
gold in 120, Colour Mission, 400D in 120, Orwo Colour, upcoming Fugu 400 - how good has 2022 been for colour film!
Very nice looking film stock
your pronunciation of Scala is a new addition to that list of weird AR pronunciations of words

Luckily I live in Germany. I’ll definitely give it a try

color mission kinda looks like ferrania solaris to me, I just love Solaris, i have 5 rolls left and i feel bad using them
You will even feel worse when you leave it in the fridge and the film goed completely bad.
I love Adox, Color Mission hmm soso. Shot 2 rolls, colours are fine, but too much grain for my taste...

Wow
great hair day ;-)
Nice! :)
#adox please keep up the good work. I’ll buy some when it becomes available 😃

Been shooting for a while now with a reliable Canon A2

Orwo is also just about to release some new film. Personally, if film should cost $20, that’s it for me. Not buying, not shooting.
I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW FAST I CLICKED
