There is a Soviet Armenian film, I think it was "The triangle", in which there is a scene where Armenian soldiers are leaving the city to go fight against Hitler, and during marching they sing this. On the armenian version of the film that is. In the Russian version(films were done in the native language and Russian so everyone in USSR could watch), they sang something else, because it wouldn't make sense to the other Soviet Republics, singing a song about a sultan while going against Hitler. There is a Soviet Armenian film, I think it was "The triangle", in which there is a scene where Armenian soldiers are leaving the city to go fight against Hitler, and during marching they sing this. On the armenian version of the film that is. In the Russian version(films were done in the native language and Russian so everyone in USSR could watch), they sang something else, because it wouldn't make sense to the other Soviet Republics, singing a song about a sultan while going against Hitler. Seeing this post reminded me of it. Pretty interesting stuff
