Skanderberg was actually a commander with Ottoman military education, I think that's also a reason why he could resist the Ottomans, he knew their strategies, and Albania was geographically suitable for him. He had no intentions to the Ottoman nation but the rulers themselves.

Fun fact : Ottomans accused Scanderbeg for having a cursed magic sword that could cut in half their skulls.
Scanderbeg sent his sword to the Sultan along with a letter that read : Keep it , it's not the sword but the power of the arm that holds it.
Also he picked his closest guards by armwrestling them. So far I know in Romania & Hungary they refer to this sport using Scanderbeg's name so maybe he became very famous for that on his time 😊

Fun fact: this song was uploded for the 578th anniversary of the League of Lezhë, which basically was a military and diplomatic alliance of the Albanian aristocracy, formed to resist the Ottoman Empire, and it was led by Skanderbeg.

The League of Lezhe is an incredibly overlooked part in Balkan history as a whole. Not only was it one of the last bastions of Ottoman resistance, but it was the first time in history in which the Albanian nobility came together under a unified presence.

I am honest i really was in schock when i met the first albanian who is absolute not religious at all. We became good friends to this day.
