    Yo thanks for this tutorial! Definitely an inspiring way of creating music, i have 8 drum pads on my midi keyboard I've barely used before, time to change that :p

    Thanks for explaining choke groups. I was trying to remember what that function was called, because I want to make a realistic open and closed hi-hat. I think if you routed all of the drums through the same reverb, the closed hi-hat cutting off the open hi-hat would blend together more naturally and not sound so abrupt. Pardon me, I am still learning. Any feedback would be appreciated:)

    Hi. Cool. Thanks for sharing some tips in Ableton. Also have a question is there a possibility to switch between Drum Rack's pads group.. i mean can you switch to next 16 pads set up in your drum rack ( left vertical raw) using your device or in Ableton, and keep midi control next 16 pads with the same mdid pads.. Thanks

    Hey man, thanks for the video! Is it easy to setup your MPD218 with the Ableton Drum Rack or software like Serato Sample?

    • @mvcleod
      @mvcleod  3 года назад +1

      Hey of course man hope you found it helpful! Yes it’s super easy, as soon as you plug the MPD in it will automatically be mapped to work with Abletons drum rack and then you can customize it how you like if you want to make any changes pretty easily. I might make a video on that sometime. Not sure about Serato but I would assume it’s fairly similar! ✌🏻

    Do you know how I can make my hi hat loop in sync with the tempo only when I push the pad and stop when I release? I tried everything and I cannot sync it.. Thanks!

    • @funnythings4u
      @funnythings4u Год назад

      you need to import the sample as audio by itself to an audio track. Then warp it to the bpm you want (make sure its warping properly, ie all the hits are on grid). Then bounce it as a new audio file. Then when you drag the new audio file into the drum kit it will be in sync (assuming you warped it to the speed you project is at). Thats how ive been doing it anyway. You can use freeze and flatten to get the audio file instead of having to make a new project each time.

    • @allenuzoma8704

      @@mvcleod Lmaao im prolly the dumbass. But in the mpcs all tho all instruments are in the "rack" only the one im striking records when looping. essentially, like playing on pad at a time while still within the rack. If that makes any sense? lol (using mpd226 as controller)

    • @mvcleod
      @mvcleod  3 года назад

      Ahh okay I gotcha, to my understanding no, at least not in the same way. The rack has multiple “octaves” not just the 16 pads, so you could use the octaves like banks and put all your sounds into one rack that way. I’ve never tried that but in theory it should work. I usually just use different tracks though so I can apply different effects to the whole track easier. If that didn’t make sense dm me on IG and I’ll send you a vid explaining 👌🏻 @mrkt.wy

      Lol didn’t see this comment sunny 😂 I haven’t choked the kick to anything but I sometimes will put a choke group on the open and closed hats. I should play around with that!
