Second entry for the Balloon Party. Wanted to do something really different this time around. The entire song is composed of almost all metalic samples (minus the synth and a few drum/orchestral/industrial effects).

Interestingly, I played Gex: Enter the Gecko as a kid, my uncle was actually an animator at Crystal Dynamics and he worked on that game. He gave us a free copy and I played it all the time. I think it really has some influence in some of my music.
The screwdriver sound in one of the songs, I remember that now. I have to find that game again and play it.
Do I get points for listening to this in the dead of night alone in my room with the lights turned off? Cause I did. And it was creepy.
its like you walk in and old toyshop then the door closes and everything comes to life
Had to come back to hear this again.
It's just so good.
All of your work is so captivating. They all seem to conjure up little scenarios in your head. I can see some of these being character themes or something similar, because they give such a feel of personality and being. Oftentimes you remind me of myuu, due to you both being so skilled in capturing the audience's imagination. Keep up the good work Makkon, maybe someday you'll be recognised for the genius you are, rather than a "brony musician".
***** and so has u XD
GirlBrony Wait they are a brony musician ?
+Joseph Ceda Is that truly important ?
No, but it's kind of interesting to know
+Joseph Ceda This song itself is actually from a brony collaboration album called Balloon Party.
This is the quintessential Makkon percussion piece, in my opinion.
I hope someday you have the interest and time to write some more music. You have the creativity, the technical skill, and (at least as of when you made this music) access to high quality and sounds and software.
I love the dark and hypnotic beat this dude puts out.
After an eternity of searching, I have finally found this. I have heard this in a few different places, and have been desperate to find it.... Thanks heavens I finally did.
Oh my god, I was looking for this song ever since tsitra360 put this song in the ending of the speed art video.
Whenever I hear it, I get image of the little doll shop in back alleys of Victorian era London, in the early night of winter, with white empty streets and snow slowly falling in the lights of gas street lamps.
...man, that's really climatic music!
simply amazing
This gave me the chills in that lovely way
Man, that was just, just... wow! Shivers man, shivers.
Awesome song! Love the metallic sounds all through out.
man, I love this tune
Sounds steampunk. I do rather enjoy steampunk. Well done.
CONTINUE TURNING THIS UP, IT GETS KIND OF AWESOME
I'm getting a strong Danny Elfman vide from this tune. Takes me back to my childhood with those modern sounds on a classic feel. Great work Makkon :D
This is really beautiful, my ears thouroghly appreciate this.
Ah Makkon, ya never cease to amaze. Love this!
Makkon: Everyone's iPod. Or at least he should be. The man is a damn genius with everything he does.
This makes me happy, I loved that soundtrack to death! That's a huge compliment.
This sounds amazing dude. Awesome work.
The Maestro outperforms himself yet again. Fantastic work!
Seriously, the music at 1:54 is just a bunch of metal sounds, but it's so WONDERBAR. It's better than most music on the radio nowadays, anyway.
This music still awesome after all these years!
If Krampus had to have a theme song, it would be this one. 🎄🐐
That is the most epic and dramatic toyshop i've ever been to, what an adventure you are picturing in my head :D
Toys flying around and stuff x)
I can actually see this fitting the toy factory area in DK 64.
After 12 straight hours of listening to nothing but Kokoro, this is riveting. I think it's a combination of the striking beauty and emotion of the music and the fact that... yea... Kokoro for 12 hours straight.
Really like this.
I like the style on this one.
How is it that you always seem to make music that resonates with my soul? I love it all. Every bit of it.
Makkon your style is excellent. Hope you never change
Absolutely loving this! I can clearly imagine a scene from a Pixar movie with a toy maker going insane as he and his co-workers create evil toys in a creepy looking factory.
All this while singing.
I love this! Very mysterious and dark sounding, yet in another sense adventurous.
😄
Thomas Bergersen and Kajiura Yuki just had a baby and IT IS AWESOME!
I've been a fan of your stuff for years now.. how the hell did I miss this one? This is fantastic.
Why is it that I can't stop listening to this?...
Well, great job! This is an amazing track! Balloon party is sounding SO promising so far! Can't wait for more full tracks ^^
Soothing... 😊
As always you remain to be one of my favourite composers, even overlooking the pony stuff you're actually amazingly talented.
I liked the melody and the fearful atmosphere there. =)
Similarly, I'm thinking of a toymaker in a dusty little shop. Wind up gears, clockworks, and little moving toy figurines on the worktable and shelves as he assembles another one with careful precision that only an old experienced watchmaker can provide. Progressively gets darker and more sinister looking; flashes of sparks from metal on metal as the newest creation is put together, and the vague shadows of spinning cranks and gears in the little candlelight as other clockwork toys watch..
OOooo this sounds like a good idea. I think I'll try it now.
Thank you for the download! This is the most epic music ever! :D
Your songs are nothing short of epic, when I hear them I cant help but Imagine something awesome :D Love your work!
I had this playing in the backround while I was reading an article on the 11 most creepy wikipedias. I nearly soiled myself on a number of moments. Good job
Just want to say that this song has inspired me to write a Fan Fic. Also played this like 100 times over and over at work today. It's so awesome! Still listening to it right now.
Woah, that was dark. I got epic chills from this. Simply fantastic!
WHY IS EVERYTHING YOU MAKE PERFECT?!
*Buy new pair of in-ear headphones, get home eager to try them out.*
*Discover brand new Makkon video, perfect for exactly that purpose.*
Fall in love with that beautiful brony.
only a few minutes until the episode airs... gotta squeeze in some of this!
@palumboman55 I'm getting that vibe too now that you mention it. I love that song to pieces!
Listening to the beginning of this song actually made my eyes go cross-eyed. I am very impressed
I love this. nuff said
I am very interested, sounds fantastic!
Still great after 7 years.
That is a good music to a hallowen themed game! It reminds me The Nightmare Before Christmas too, and so many other things that are spooky and amazing together, you rock
@makkon06 Talented artist AND musician, I bow to you sir.
wonderful. Dimming the lights, turning up this to may volume, this is the way I'm gonna spend the next hour. : D
Dude, I am a huge fan of Amon Tobin and Aphex Twin and this falls RIGHT into the category of music that I happen to LOVE. You have no idea how happy I was when I heard this start playing on Balloon Party!
I have to be honest here, this song is awesome! I love to write, and this song gave me some great ideas. Keep up the good work
This is epically awesome. I'd expect this to be in a puzzle type game, maybe some haunted factory or something.
@KmScMT Sure, check the description. I don't seem to have the red layer on my PS file though, I probably edited it after I flattened the image. But I hope the normal version is fine.
This makes me think of demented holidays. Well done.
the outro was perfect, another win on makkon's part
Best songs on Balloon Party, still a great song Makkon!
This songs sounds so ominous and evil... it's so PERFECT!!!!
UGHH because of what u put in the description made me turn up the volume and i had earbuds in DX
As cool as that would be, I don't think I would ever be happy with music as my career. I love being able to have it as a hobby. This way I can do what I want, try new things, and produce on my own schedule. However I can do visual art far better, and I can do that under pressure. With music all of my creative ambitions just disappear when I have too much pressure.
Thanks for the link.
... and you're good. Very good.
*gasp* you are making more then one?, BEST DAY EVER!
This song seriously made my day. I agree about the Frantic Factory thing. Which only made me love this song even more X3
i love that sinister feeling it gives me
Woah *shivers* that sounds straight out of bastion bro /)
I knew I saw your oc somewhere, loved that video on the past of Discord, Celestia, and Luna. Keep up the good work ^^
Me being able to picture an actual toy factory going along to this music makes it so much better.
+TheTaZe I picture like a demented santa's workshop where all the elves are broken robots with missing limbs and there is a factory pumping out smoke. Someone needs make an animation.
+plasma duck As I was listening to this I was thinking it through on a possible animation
+plasma duck I personally think it would look best if it was animated like a stop motion film.
AaroN62Gost agreed
DAMN YOU! You made me download this onto my Ipod...
Oooh creepy.... How have I never heard of you before? Loving your stuff man!
You should write for American McGee!
This and Dregs really reminded me of the Alice games :)
ikr!
Those soundtracks have been a huge inspiration, actually
Makkon cool! =)
Makkon Woah really? Now I have to relisten to American McGee's and Alice Madness Returns' soundtracks.
Would've been perfect for Halloween.
Awesome
That percussion! Insanity. Reminds me of the battle music that would swell during an intense moment on an old survival/horror FPS called The Suffering. Well organized chaos.
Reminds me of a scene in project horizions with all the "soul jars"
I came here expecting I nice happy melody, boy was I wrong, that was creepily awesome!
um....what should i say....YOUR MUSIC IS THE BEST!!!
That's so...
*METAL*
Huh, i totally loved this song in Ballon Party, then i heard the prev of Absolution and realised i wasnt subscribbed to your channel. Keep up the good work, you are a great musician :)
War drums? Nearly all of the percussion is metallic scrap. There aren't any war drums in there. I've listed the software that I used to make this song in description if that's what you're looking for.
This is freaking awesome, can't help but think Amnesia: The dark descent
Makkon music currently dominates my Stealth Pony playlist, the music I play at work that is pony music but isn't obviously pony music.
That way, I can subject my co-workers to awesome tunes, and when they ask what it's about, I can tell them how cool ponies is.
Thank you for providing the best segues into pony conversations and also the most confused faces.
Now to curl into the fetal position and wait for the full release of Balloon Party.
Nice. This and dregs are epic.
I love it! It reminds me of Frantic Factory from Donkey Kong 64. This is really quality stuff.
Makkon, I love the style you have, somtimes it reminds me of old Rare games... :D
Keep it up!
I was just listening to Balloon Party and I realized that this song's main theme reminds me a lot of "Creepy Doll" by Johnathan Coulton. I imagine it's because both have the 'music box' sound to them.
I would love to see this in a videogames level or something.
I see. I must say, you've done some pretty good works from what I've seen. :)
I'll be sure to credit you. thanks for the all clear.
@vonBarrelroll Great. Cannot unsee.
The image I get from this is Aperture Science at Christmas time. Like this would play as the intro of a Portal Christmas Special. It would be like if Aperture ran the North Pole. Also... Turrets with santa hats... YOU CANNOT UNSEE IT!!!
They were, especially Frantic Factory from DK64. There's one more that really drove the melody, it's Baby Bowser's Lullaby from Yoshi's Story.
ALL HAIL MAKKON, LORD OF THE BALLOON PARTY!
