the turning your pallette into grayscale first is very helpful!! makes it easier to be able match the vibe of a reference thanks!
The only problem with greyscale is heathens like me. I want to do that mf without the greyscale or else Im not good enough :3 (i still use it I just feel dirty)
@imcrimson8618 i still also don't use this method really idk i could never seem to grasp it 😭 so i just put on a grayscale layer on top of everything to check my values as i go
@@93quarters37 i dont draw, but its hella useful for photography and videos. I also flick back and forth too, but mannn the feeling of getting it right without having to flicker back and forth is nice
As a beginner these tutorials are really usefull. Better to start off by building good habbits.

Any tips on fixing overly dark values? My paintings always end up so dark even in a light mood
A good use of the curve tool in any painting software really helps in this case!
