So glad you're video demos strymon pedals with synths, for us keyboardists to view & lust after…… please continue to use keyboards in future videos of your effects pedals thank you
Love this style of demo! Showing the dry sound first, the synth that's making it, and then the processed sound is my favorite way to demo effects. Thank you!
This is fantastic. I always thought that these kinds of sounds could only be achieved with computer based software. Amazing realtime reverb filtration!
STRYMON PLEASEEEEEE!!!! Where is your 19" rack version? I would love to have your world class reverb in my studio but pedals are such a mess on a producer desk...
MrHollabk Thanks for sharing this feedback. We really appreciate it. We unfortunately don't share what is or isn't in the works, but we listen to all feedback. Thanks :D
Agree for the rack version and messing with pedals when you already have tons of gear. I will buy a rack unit if you comes with one anytime. Still a wonderful product already no doubt. Viva Strymon! Cheers!
Without a doubt the most musical sounding reverb stomp box I've ever heard. The overtones and harmonics that it creates are just phenomenal and it has a VERY distinct and unique sound.
Man this thing is glorious! I listened to a bunch of youtube demos for the first time two days ago. It is arriving via fedex tomorrow. ;-) Got me hook, line and sinker.
This is my dream reverb pedal.. I'm getting this one day, as well a modular synth. Both together is my dream, I'd sell all my equipment just for those two.
Hahah! That's awesome! Thanks so much -- what a compliment. I've been using it on tons of stuff and I don't really know what I'm doing with it yet, so I can't imagine you'll be very impressed with what you see. But I'm having great fun. It's an amazing device. I've been using it to add a bit of ambience to samples that I sample into the Octatrack, and it works great for that also.
as soon as I heard this pedal it became number one on my list of things to get. it took waiting like 5 months, and selling a preamp, but im so happy that the strymon bigsky is finally in the mail on the way to my house :)
This is simplyinsane. What this wonderful machine can do with simple Tones. If I hadn`t considered buying this. I would after hearing this demo. It`s nice, that this demo is with synths.
after the first couple of demo patches I found myself really looking forward to the button being pressed each time just to see what more fantastic sounds the little box was going to make. Astoundingly impressive piece of kit guys and a great addition for El Capistan owners!
I have a really good producer using the Abby roads plug-in by waves and he refuses to use outboard gear. I feel however this reverb is beyond superior. Opinions? I need a good argument.
Excellent demonstration with brilliant sound engineering. Well spoken ! Thanks so much for show, Thanks for up loading and sharing. I am inspired by you and Strymon-BigSky pedal device !
I really like your products, Strymon ! !! Very cool design with friendly features and very easy to work with ! and thats a PLUS there ! !! Of course sound and quality are excellent ! You've got a perfect width, length, depth, and awesome finish on your devices ! I like the way it looks, nicely balanced (Wide enough for being as a foot pedal), Well done !
There are 4 Strymon pedals on my studio desk (3 large, 1 small). I'd be so happy with 1HE 19" units of individual pedals like Timeline or Big Sky or 2HE 19" units with Big Sky + Blue Sky or Timeline + El Capistan/DIG.
Is it possible through the midi connection of this effects processor to select a programmed effect next to the timbre on the Yamaha DX7 or other old synthesizer that is not compatible with general midi standard?
Hi ADRIANKEYMUSIC! I'm not really clear on your question, however, the BigSky presets can be recalled with MIDI Program Change messages and the parameters of the pedal can be controlled with MIDI Control Change messages. A Synth would need to be able to send these types of messages to control the pedals presets and parameters.
Great demo (and product!), thank you! Before I go to the store, I was wondering which is the best way to connect condenser microphone directly on the pedal? Thank you!!
+aero2graph Thanks for checking out the video! As a condenser microphone needs phantom power to operate, you would need to connect the mic to a mixer or mic preamp that provides phantom power to the connected microphone. Then, take the output from the mixer/preamp to the input of the pedal and out to the rest of your signal chain.
The CHORALE algorithm is one of the reverb TYPES on BigSky. It can be used with whatever you connect to BigSky. As long as that SQ1 has line level outputs, it can be ran through BigSky just fine :)
+ncoyouth Thanks for checking out the video. :) The signal chain for this recording is Juno-6 (stereo out) => BigSky (stereo out) => 2 Damange Control Womanizer Preamps => MOTU audio interface.
If your synth has audio line level outputs, you can run those direct into the BigSky. Otherwise, if using a VST synth, you'd need to use an audio interface that has multiple outputs and inputs in order to assign a VST audio track out from your DAW to an output, and then run that into the BigSky and back into the DAW from there.
Having used Korg SDD3000 rack and Echoplex EP2 for guitar in the past I was reluctant to try digital pedal for my Juno. This demo is pretty awesome though man !
Love my BigSky! What's the recording signal chain? I can't figure out how to record my analogue synth and BigSky, probably because I'm a guitar player! Any help would be great!
In this video, the output signals from the keyboards and synths are plugged into the LEFT (mono) or LEFT and RIGHT (stereo) INPUTS of BigSky, then, the LEFT and RIGHT OUTPUTS from BigSky are plugged into 2 INPUT channels on an audio interface to record into Ableton Live.
Thanks for checking out the video! I'm not too clear on your question. Are you trying to use the reverbs from the BigSky to process the audio from Ableton live like an insert/plug-in? Please write us at support@strymon.net so we can assist you better with your question.
+Arooslab Thanks for checking out the video! The pedal has a 1 Meg Ohm impedance and will work with line level instruments as long as you are sending an unbalanced signal through unbalanced cable connections.
+strymon Thanks guys! I'm strongly feeling that i'll buy one very soon. But i'd want to process audio from my DAW (so through D/A converters and TRS connections) like a "regular" multi effects; what's the best way to get this setup? Thanks again!
+Arooslab You would need to assign a pair of outputs from your audio interface to send your signal to the BigSky, then, use a different pair of inputs to record the audio from the BigSky on a stereo track. Please keep in mind that the INPUTS and OUTPUTS on the BigSky are unbalanced, so you must send an unbalanced signal to and from the pedal using mono TS connections.
I am wondering how to hook up pedals to my synth? Cant find much on the web, and it looks like its a little more complicated then with a guitar (seeing all the cables that are being used) I have a minilogue and a focusrite 2i4.. would be much appreciated!
+Jeremy Kemble You just need to connect the outputs from your synth into the inputs of your pedals. For just the BigSky, you connect the mono output of your synth into the LEFT input of the BigSky. Then, take the LEFT (and RIGHT for stereo) output(s) of the BigSky into the LEFT (and RIGHT for stereo) INPUT(S) of your Focusrite Audio interface.
You could plug this thing into a can of beans and it would still sound great.
As demonstrated when running the Yamaha Portasound through it xD
lol!
Tried it. Now have wall to wall beans.
Thanks for that!
I'm crying. Best comment I've seen in a fat minute.
That must be the best quote I have heard in a long time... lol
So glad you're video demos strymon pedals with synths,

thank you
Thanks so much :D We will!
Amazingly beautiful reverb. Hands down, the best reverb pedal.
Thanks so much :)

MrHollabk Thanks for sharing this feedback. We really appreciate it. We unfortunately don't share what is or isn't in the works, but we listen to all feedback. Thanks :D
strymon 19'' rack would be truly amazing!!
What about the Eurorack version?! Everybody wants/needs this!
Hi Caleb, Thanks for the additional feedback :)
Best Big Sky synth demo I've seen. Appreciate the quality and various sound sources. I really want one after seeing this.
2:57 gives me goosebumps and tears!
Strymon is heads and shoulders above all effects ....these guys are SOUND artists Bravo
Why is "Elijah Wood Teaches You How To Build A Gatorade Bong" related to this?
don´t have any fucking idea
Because Elijah Wood uses a microphone hooked to Strymon's Bigsky Reverb when he is practicing his scary Hobbit screams.
a simple good sounding instrument + a very good fx + some decent playing skills - that's it to create wonderful music.
I'm speechless!!! This thing is a pure magic!
0:50 that bigsky on the wurlitzer is pure gold!
Says to meself..."but do I really NEED it?"....gets to 4:26 and it's "SWEET JESUS I NEEEEED IT!!"
LFOVCF you could record anything half decent, set the mix to 100% and play it through that and get insane soundscapes like no other
A decade later this still is the only digital device sounding more analogue than analogue ever did. What a beauty...they should have sent poets.
4:24 wow I didn't see that coming ...
If any moment shows how powerful the BigSky is....that is the moment.
@00:00 Wulitzer 200a

Hiro Protagonist Thank you Hiro :) Excited to hear you have a BigSky on the way. If you post any videos, please let us know so we can check them out.!
hook, line and 'shimmer'
Oh my God!! it's a brilliant reverb!! LOVE it!
Thank you!!
Good job Strymon for a synthesizer demo. More stompbox manufacturers need to do these sorts of videos.
This is pure gold. When I graduate and get a job I'm buying this. Sad video ended...
This is my dream reverb pedal.. I'm getting this one day, as well a modular synth. Both together is my dream, I'd sell all my equipment just for those two.
3:00 all this need is some drums & bass and you got a sick track ! Great demo video!
Simply stunning ! I’m going to be locked away in my studio for a VERY long time !
the "sunrise" part ... sublime. you just helped sell yet another one of these things, to me!
Appreciate that. Thanks!
The sound of the DX21 and Strymon Big Sky is heaven!
This reverb is so great. just got it and it's magical with synths.
Thank you so much. I just went over to your RUclips and see you have a few videos with it. Can't wait to watch them today. :D
Hahah! That's awesome! Thanks so much -- what a compliment. Totally enjoyed the clips, but can't wait to hear more as you dive in deeper with your BigSky :D
"BigSky" is a good name, but "WetDream" would be more accurate.
Hahahhhaa
This will be my first Strymon piece. Killer work guys.
0:08 This reverb sound like Silent Hill OST. I love It! ❤️
This has shown me so much u can do when plugging fx pedals in synths
Incredible Bigsky !
well, I'm convinced that this is the reverb I need for my setup
Amazing, just ordered one to go with my live looping setup, can't wait to get started
The 'Sirens' preset... amazing! 5:13
When we first used it, it gave us goosebumps. The big sky is worth every penny!
AlobarMusic Thank you :D
So beautiful, thank you. I adore this cosmoromantic reverb effect👍
Really nice demo mate, good job. Sounds awesome and the keys played too. :)
I've just tripled the sounds of my keyboard with this great little box
as soon as I heard this pedal it became number one on my list of things to get. it took waiting like 5 months, and selling a preamp, but im so happy that the strymon bigsky is finally in the mail on the way to my house :)
fawnandrabbit Can't wait to hear when you get your BigSky. Please tag us when you do :D
My favorite reverb box!
This is simplyinsane. What this wonderful machine can do with simple Tones. If I hadn`t considered buying this. I would after hearing this demo. It`s nice, that this demo is with synths.
Thanks so much :) Really appreciate hearing that!
just ordered one!! im so happy!!!
supper jelly :(

1:09 makes me feel so good
Amazing sounds 😯
Amazing reverb.
Is the Bloom setting inspired by the Alesis MIDIVerb preset 40?
Best pedals out there, I want em all!
Thank you for the kind comment! Appreciate it so much :D
Such wonderful feedback to hear. Thank you again!!
My pleasure ! Please keep up the good work !
So smooth !
The sound is epic!
Only synth i’ve ever owned that came close was a Yamaha CS-80. Great video and demo. Tnx
I think a HUGE part of Vangelis’ sound was the way he played the synths in the presence of high end Lexicon reverbs
I love this sound 😃😃😃😃
Man that 'Stop Signs' bit is lush, is it from something? :P
There are 4 Strymon pedals on my studio desk (3 large, 1 small). I'd be so happy with 1HE 19" units of individual pedals like Timeline or Big Sky or 2HE 19" units with Big Sky + Blue Sky or Timeline + El Capistan/DIG.
Sonic Synergist Appreciate the feedback :D Thanks so much!
+strymon I would buy that in a heartbeat
Same here!
im begging so much for this pedal, i will damn sure buy it as soon as i can
Snagging one this month. You guys have an amazing product line.
+BoomBoom Look forward hearing when you have your BigSky. Thanks :D

What kind of cables to you use to connect your effects pedal to your keyboard
nice tones for the people!
juno-6 sounded great
I've got to get one of these!
Sounds so good. Gonna try plugging in my keyboard via midi this afternoon...
im thinking about buying BlueSky, cheaper and seems to be more than enough for my Mininova, or should i really save for the Big1?
this is just too good ...
Play anything into the shimmer and set the mix to 100 for instant ambient music
Marvelous !
amazing.
Very nice
I had the Juno 60 which has chorus & reverb built in but this baby tops it by a galactic mile
After watching this I just ordered one !!! :D
btw your subbed and thumbed up mate
FedEx just delivered Big Sky
ARP Odyssey mono in & stereo out to Alesis line mixer
What profound effects and lush
ARP came alive using presets
Awesome! Love hearing that. Please share if you post a video :)

Great demo! Thx
awesome!
Excellent!! I want!
Hello from France What is the signal chain please for the juno 6..
Roland Juno-6 - Strymon BigSky and after ? Preamp ? Soundcard?
Thanks
Nicolas
+ncoyouth Thanks for checking out the video. :) The signal chain for this recording is Juno-6 (stereo out) => BigSky (stereo out) => 2 Damange Control Womanizer Preamps => MOTU audio interface.
+strymon Thanks a lot..
crikey what happened at 4:26 with the dx 7 - sounded like a totally different tune?!?
How does one hook this up to a synth? Trying to figure out what equipment I need. Amazing sounds!

Otherwise, if using a VST synth, you'd need to use an audio interface that has multiple outputs and inputs in order to assign a VST audio track out from your DAW to an output, and then run that into the BigSky and back into the DAW from there.
I have an analog synth Prophet 8, would like lush effects for my patches
which unit do you suggest?
Getting a Prophet 10 soon…..
BigSky, TimeLine, or Mobius would all work and sound great! :)
Having used Korg SDD3000 rack and Echoplex EP2 for guitar in the past I was reluctant to try digital pedal for my Juno. This demo is pretty awesome though man !
Impressive!

Whats the best way to hook up big sky to keyboard (NS2)? I have a audio interface as well..
You can just connect the outputs of the NS2 into the inputs of the BigSky. All of our pedals can receive up to +8dBu of input level.
vraiment SUPER !!!
which unit either "Mobius, BigSky or TimeLine" do you suggest for effects for my Dave Smith Synths?
What's the best selling for synths?
A lot of synth players love the Mobius actually for synths because it offers such a wide range of vastly different types of modulation effects. :)
that highly depends on what you want.. do you want a reverb, a delay, or a modulation unit?
Is there any guid on how to setup this effect in ableton live ? I dont have any synths, but I really love this reverb !
Thanks for checking out the video! I'm not too clear on your question. Are you trying to use the reverbs from the BigSky to process the audio from Ableton live like an insert/plug-in? Please write us at support@strymon.net so we can assist you better with your question.
You should make a synth demo of the timeline, not many around-
Yes, we definitely want to make more synth demos! :)
very useful tutorial ! thankyou!
My first strymon piece as well i think. Consider eurorack sometime guys!
this thing could make a *fart* sound like a symphony.
watch?v=Tk-5RVMerfI
Beautiful! I would love to hear this thing in person!
+Draven Flores Thanks :) You can find select dealers at our dealer finder here > strymon.net/dealers Look forward to hearing when you get to play one.
Stunning machine for sure. What about input impedance issues? Is it possible to plug in regular line level instruments? Thanks!

Please keep in mind that the INPUTS and OUTPUTS on the BigSky are unbalanced, so you must send an unbalanced signal to and from the pedal using mono TS connections.
+strymon To unbalance a balanced signal is not that easy.. :) i'll find a way to do that properly. Thank you guys!
My favorits are when you create SOUNDS using toy synts... I got to get one!
Rack format please. Thank you.
My sir the sky !!
