Amazing the structures that are out there and with some repairs could be fantastic getaway cabins. So glad we put them on…they 💯 did their jobs! Nice RCI! Thanks for coming along for the adventure.
Pioneer town was amazing. Always enjoy your adventures! Whenever I see the old remains I try to imagine the day they were built and first occupied. So much history.
It is certainly a fun nostalgic area. Heard the restaurant is really good and they have live music. Might have to go back and just enjoy the food and entertainment.
We really enjoyed this video. Pioneertown looked cool. Then the Joshua trees, the old house remnants, the cabins, and the beautiful scenes of nature along the way we're all great. Thanks for taking us along!
You ever know what you might find along the trail. Makes you wonder about the people who built these cabins and the story these places could tell. Thanks for coming with us on this adventure.
Never thought of it this way, but it looks like so much of where you travel could be a Western movie scene. Like I'm expecting Gary Cooper circa 1952 or something. I MIGHT consider staying the night at that cabin. Hmmmm...... Oh, and NICE WIN Sunday! 10:00....um....whoa. Heck of a trip!
It was just like being on an old west set. Have to go back as we heard the restaurant is pretty good and they have live music! Such a fun and beautiful trail.
I have a feeling i've driven a very similar route to this on my motorcycle... so thanks for helping me remember this fun adventure! Great to meet you guys.
Hello Friends! Catching up on commenting on videos we already watched. As always, great video! Couple of fun driving problems. Good narration. Such pretty country! I want to go to that summit campsite. Skid plates to the rescue!
Appreciate the positive feedback, thank you. The cabins were super cool to explore, makes you wonder who lived in them and the history behind each one. Happy adventures.
Pioneertown looked like so much fun. Roy and Dale are two of my favorite old time actors and humanitarians. Love the stickers on your ceiling. We've noticed them before, but don't think we've said anything before. Chip and JoAnn could do a little something with that. Looks like you guys had a great adventure.
Pioneertown has such a cool charm and does take you back. We collect and trade patches/stickers. Makes a great display area! Thanks so much got coming along friends!
The trail looks really tough! There's no way I could have seen it without watching your video! The drone shot was very beautiful giving us the whole view of the place!
It was a great trail, there were definitely some spots that were rougher. The mountain trail was harder…nature makes you work for those campsite views. Thank you for watching and happy adventures.
The pioneer town was very cool. I like stuff like that. Sure was an awesome trail ride. That view from up top was amazing! You guys really do take some great adventures!!
Love old west towns. Want to make a trip to see Tombstone. There are so many cool places we haven’t experienced yet…many more adventures to come! Thank you friends, maybe one day we will share one together.

.... right there at Pioneertown is where the Cisco Kid television show was filmed. I find myself looking for Cisco and Poncho on there horses Loco and Diablo.
@OpenRoad4Two i wish i could have been with you guys. Visiting Leo Carillo's ranch would have been an experience of a lifetime. Thank you for sharing with me. May GOD richly bless you both. 💚
No way would I stay in an old buggy snakey house if I had a nice clean snake and bug free wedge camper like you guys! And Happy Valentines, glad you guys are able to get out and enjoy the trails in weather like that! And nice skid plate! looks like an EV that way, LOL.
Oh for sure, we would camp at the cabin but sleep inside our RTT! Thanks so much for watching, had to take advantage of these temperatures but sure did miss seeing some snow.
Great video guys. I'm heading to 2N02 in a little over a week in my '23 Subaru Forester Wilderness with a few other Subaru owners for a 2-3 day excursion up through Big Bear via Burns Canyon. Going to hit up a few other trails like 3N16 and the Gold Fever trail once up there as well.
I don't know why the comment for another video ended up on your channel (I think it was because of the "watch later" playlist since when I wrote it I had already jumped to your video) I finally got to watch the whole video and I liked it very much, what a fantastic adventure and the truly spectacular landscape and the best thing is that you were in very good company, so the adventure is more enjoyable
I stayed in worst places compared to that cabin. I wouldn’t mind staying there. But if I have a camper like yours why would I 😆. I bet that hill looks steeper and rougher in person. Awesome day trip, guys! RCI FTW!
It was the one of the better ones. However with some TLC and elbow grease would make a fantastic getaway cabin. It was definitely rougher in-person, we were off camber in a few spots. Thanks for watching and leaving us a comment 👊🏼
How much ground clearance do you think you have after you put your skid plates on? On my stock 4runner they say that the ground clearance is 9&1/2 inches, not sure how accurate that is. Great video and thank you for sharing!
Hey John, thanks for watching. This is a hard question to answer because individual set ups are very unique. We recently added about .5 inches of preload to our adjustable King coil overs to reduce our front wheel rubbing, but it also added to our ground clearance. With our 33’s at 33psi, we have approximately 11.5 inches of ground clearance at our low point with the RCI skids. The skids are about an 1/8 of an inch thicker than the stock front skid was that we removed. So the after market skids aren’t much different than the stock, so the added strength they provide is worth it to us. We have the TRD PRO skid plate on our 4Runner. It has 33”s and a Westcott Designs collar lift. It has about 12.25 inches of clearance. We hope this helps.
Dear Channel Friend, Thank you so much for sharing a very beautiful video😍🎀👍L55👍🔔👍 Good luck going forward ! 🎀The bond of friendship will last forever😊🤗 welcome
Nice video! This route is currently under attack by several of the (NEW) local residents with money. You know, the ones who move in & want to claim the area as their community, saying the road is private. It IS NOT a private road! The beginning is Burns Canyon Rd (BLM RC1430) and is a GREEN STICKER ROUTE! till it hits US Forest (2N02) This was a wagon road in the 1800s from Big Bear to Rose Mine & on to Warren's well (yucca valley) The recent storms have caused some rocks to block 2N02 and the ass's that are wanting to close it are useing this as firepower. Any jeep clubs/ offroaders that have a decent rig & means to winch need to get up & help clear the way IF you want to keep this route? Its a beautiful day trip & camping area. DO NOT ALLOW THESE environmental terrorists to lock you out!! Or hardass you if your up there, its your FULL Legal right to be.
@@OpenRoad4Two Yes several of the long time residents are pushing back but its like these people have nothing better to do. They have put up huge signs stating it's a private community & are insistent that a gate WILL be going up. The road status has been double checked with the BLM but all that was stated is if they put a gate up someone would have to go to court about it. 😳 WHAT?
We had such a fun time on this trail. If you enjoy the video please give us a 👍🏼 and consider subscribing! See you on the Open Road!
Wow a Joshua tree wonderland indeed. Wow at 5:35 that cabin. Wow the skid plates did their jobs. On to the next adventure! like 53

We love that tiny cabin, so cool when you get up surrounding nowhere. The weather looks pretty dry.
Wouldn’t mind having one of the cabins a s a retreat. Yes, the snow melted pretty fast. Was hoping that there was more from our last storm.
Pioneer town was amazing. Always enjoy your adventures! Whenever I see the old remains I try to imagine the day they were built and first occupied. So much history.

Not to shabby! Have to return to see if the repairs and rehab get completed. Thanks for watching friend and happy adventures!
Looks like a fun trail 😀 I had planned to go to
Pioneer town just never made it 🤪 I like all those cool Joshua trees 😎

What a awesome trip. Great cabins and the last one looked like it could have been stayed in easy. Glad you got the skid plate on. Amazing shots !!
We are so thankful we installed them before this trip. Did some rock landing on that portion of the trail.
this was a super cool place. I love the presentations of your videos those cabins are wild but it goes with the terain 10/10

Been wanting to hit that trail. Dissappointed that there’s no more snow though. Oh well. Nice video btw.

What are the coordinates to that cabin where you stopped for lunch?
How far is the detour when you take that moderate trail?
Your truck lifted?
Yes, we have mid travel King 2.5in coil over w/ reservoirs suspension lift that gives us about 2 to 3 inches of lift.
Are you guys local here in California.
Can a stock yukon handle this trail with hieght?
Don’t see any issues with the trail conditions we encountered. Not sure the state of the trail currently.
Can you do this trail with a 2WD?
