    Something I forgot to mention in my previous comment - Concept2 do a cover for the rowers. I have one and it does a good job of keeping it clean and quickly be taken on and off if using the rower daily or can be properly secured with the velcro straps if you plan to leave it for an extended period unused. The quality of the cover is very good, mine is probably 10 years or more old now and is as good as the day I bought it. It really is good for keeping dust off it.
    They don't seem to do a cover for the SkiErg or BikeErg though unfortunately.

    Hi. After watching your vids I’ve started using my old magnetic rower again. You use the concept 2 , I’ve seen a RP3S being used, where the flywheel moves back and forth along the rail during the Drive and Recovery. What if any is the advantage with this system.
    Thanks for getting me back on the rower. Cheers.

    Really useful video (it would have been good to have shown in the video taking the side off the fan housing and how to clean it just for demonstration purposes). Good tip about the battery - I haven't looked at mine since I bought it probably 10 years ago! It has been working so never thought to check but will change it immediately for a fresh battery and add a calendar reminder to change it out for a new battery each year. Hopefully it hasn't leaked!!!
    I find a light spray of furniture polish really helps on the seat rail for a smoother action and to keep it clean. When I took my rower in to Concept2 years ago they were doing that in the maintenance department so I have done it ever since.
    I guess the cleaning process is much the same for the Skierg and Bike?
    I video on those would be good.

      @DarkHorseRowing  4 года назад

      Yes! Love all the additions and differences you have here. The furniture polish is an interesting tactic but makes a ton of sense. And yes, aside from the other two machines not having the same exposed chain system we're dealing with the same flywheel based system internally and the same materials and monitors so it would be very similar.

    I'm 5000m from my first million. I just did this maintenance and doing the chain. It wasn't bad at all.

    I'm eagerly waiting for the german department of concept2 to write me an email, telling me I can finally order my model D. Until then, videos like this evoke the same excitement in me as promo-tapes for new Videogame-consoles did in the 90s! 😄

      @@MsWagons There was/is indeed a shortage due to corona. But I'm already on the waiting list of the concept2-department here in germany (which is located in Hamburg) and they said they'll get in touch around July. I can wait just that little bit longer. :-)
      But I appreciate the idea, thanks!

      Either direct from Vapor Ftiness, or via Amazon. I think the seat covers are sold out currently ->

    Is the process the same for cleaning the fan on a skierg? Thanks.

    • @squealer42
      @squealer42 4 года назад

      I just did mine, thinking it would be the same.
      The mesh screen had several rust spots, I assume due to dripping sweat all over it, that I wanted to take care of, in addition to dust throughout.
      However, I took the whole fan cover off, too, based upon 1 year ago video I had followed before->
      ruclips.net/video/VqV30mG1h6s/видео.html
      Upon ski-erg cleaning reassembly, I realized I hadn't kept track of how the extra dampener disc is connected. I thought I did, but found one crazy warped washer that I had just scrubbed the rust off of that I had no clue about. Thankfully, C2's website had a schematic detailing exactly where Part #1278 "Wave Washer" belonged. All good after that -> www.concept2.com/files/pdf/us/skierg/skierg2_master_schematic.pdf
      Now I'm wanting some sort of sweat shield between my head and the fan. Headbands don't do it for me. I could fashion some sort of ugly bracket, but... would nice to have a ready-made accessory option.
      At least, a little sandwich bag will be easy enough to spare the monitor.

    @Dark Horse Rowing Use a rechargeable NiMH battery as they are dry inside and do not leak. Will save you a fortune over the years.

    Excellent job at 10:38, refusing to look.
    "But you could've just..." Um no, You're missing the point. " I " could not.

    Since there’s no way to know when a battery will leak, I’d say just replace them every six months.
