I bought an old H3 last year. I already replaced the lock assembly with a used one from the salvage yard. When it goes again I may order from you. I spoke with you on the phone yesterday. You are currently shipping differential bushings to me. I thank you for your informative videos. You have earned my subscription. Thank you for sharing.
Definitely need an LED tutorial for these! I want to do them throughout my truck! I'd love a sticker BTW, I run your lift and plan on getting more products from you in the future for my '06 Canyon!
Now this is the video I’ve been looking for. My window and locks crapped out when I put on the CST lift. Weird since both of those shouldn’t effect each other but that’s when it happened. I’m interested on maybe some red LED lights. Great video again Kevin!!
Also I hate to sound like a pain in the ass but I’ve been waiting on a few stickers I ordered but didn’t receive. Once again your videos and products are awesome. Keep up the great work 👊
Hey Kevin. Sadly the new part did not help with my situation. My buddy installed the new part but it still didn’t work. I also bought a brand new GM window switch and that didn’t work either. I think my problem is bigger than this. Any suggestions? Thanks again for the stickers 👊
Was always wanting to put a center shifter in my console from H3 in my 2010 v8 Colorado. Removing the column shifter. I think drink holder is lost by doing it, not sure. Thanks for all the info, and it has helped me!
I have watched all your videos multiple times. Good stuff. You take the guesswork out of 355 nation and make it clear and concise. Dealing with engine misfire due to cylinder head leak and rattling tension pulley. Have you ever fixed this on your truck? Im considering doing these myself but dont want to get in over my head.
Tension pulley and idler puller is an easy fix. No confusion there. Depending on where your head is leaking you might have the dreaded valve seat issue. Have you performed a leakdown test?
Awesome. Just got this issue last week after fixing my misfire and had to wait a few days before it went away and I could get in the back door again. Also didn't even know there were door lights. Haha guess I gotta replace those with the HVAC control lights.
@@uberleet01it was the ignition pack. Had to replace the old one with a new one and went away. 70 dollar for the new part and 30 minutes to pull everything out of the way replace the part and put everything back. Super easy
Hello, thanks for the video and knowledge on this issue... I most likely will be ordering the capacitors you are selling ... I do have a specific problem and wanted to know your opinion on it.... Whenever my battery goes dead, really low or the battery gets disconnected to work on truck .. I have this very same issue . I am very familiar with this.... and do you think changing those capacitors will fix this problem. I have been doing the drain the caps thing (believe me, it took a lot of research to even narrow it down to the caps and many horror stories of people replacing switches and what not.. .. )and it has worked but always have the same problem when battery is dead or removed. Thanks ... for the video, people do appreciate it. (y) I know the truck is old but GM should have issued a Technical Service Bulletin or something for this bewidering problem ...
Well I have had my truck for quite a few years... one or two times my battery just came to the end of its life and gave me problems mostly in the winter by not charging fully, dying or getting really low. Thats when narrowed it down to the caps but didnt really realize just disconnecting the battery did it also... had rear end changed and after picking it up ( in the rain ) I noticed the driver window was down and yhe door locks didnt work... then it dawned on me why, they had disconnected my battery and most likely didn't know why my window no longer worked and really didnt want to mention it. ( it was someone doing favor for my brother and picked it up when they were closed ) I knew what it was and did the drain cap thing, but over the years it never just happened by itself. I think it being a 05 and old has something to do with it... like someone mentioned, I thought it might be the two relays were just worn with age and thought about replacing those. After seeing your vid. I think it may very well be the caps. After market switches seem to be hit or miss and used most likely have the same problem. Battery has just had normal battery problems over the years. I'm going to order the caps and give it a try because draining the caps is a pita....
I’m locked out of my Chevy. The fob only makes the lights on the inside flash and the manual key won’t turn when inserted into the lock. Do you think the problem is this capacitor?
Another person shorted the capacitors by joining the positive and negative with a jumper wire and did it without uninstalling them from the board circuit. It worked just fine.
Shorting the capacitors can sometimes work but they will likely fail soon after. By replacing them with upgraded higher temp rated ones you will guarantee yourself never needing to replace them again.
I have done that in the past.... problem is every time the battery gets really low, dead, or disconnected this happens so I hope this will fix that. Its a crazy senerio and hard for people to believe, but it took me a while to find even i formation about draining the capacitors, I thought it was the relays that where wearing out. This is a " querk" this truck has and this guys information is greatly appreceated :)
Hey dude. I just bought a brand new master switch for my 05 colorado and my locks still don't work. My windows work fine but only my back passenger side door locks. I was hoping maybe you can lead me in the right direction if you see this.
I am wondering if you might be able to confirm what my particular issue might be. I have a 05 colorado 4 door with power locks/windows. The front passenger window only worked some of the time, other times she had to hit it to go down. I replaced the regulator for her and window is now working correctly up and down. My problem is the lock on that door (frnt passenger) it does not work at all, however, all others do. I pulled the actuator off the rear right door and installed it in the front door. So now the front does lock and unlock but not all the time. First time you try it it works second time it may not. I am thinking it is a current issue and therefore the capacitors may need changing. can you give me the specs on those caps? I think it is worth a try... Thanks appreciate it. Ernie

That is common and will usually affect only one window. This issue is actually super common where the driver window and door locks fail simultaneously.

Yes let’s see how to do the leds
yes!! the 2 caps shorted out WILL bring back door locks and windows, if battery is disconnected.
Yes but only temporarily. They have reduced capacitance and should be replaced.
Can you show how to change the center control led lights also like for the 4x4 buttons and ac controls
The 4x4 buttons are a little different but they can be changed.
Yes do the leds I have some that are out

@neo307a yep capacitors tend to dry up and loose capacitance over time.
Suggestion for a video. If you have a router, could you show the process to bore out silverado wheels?
Yeah. I even have the bit and a pretty trick way to do it too.

@neo307a shorting them just forces them to re-charge. Still doesn't fix the issue of the reduced capacitance.
