Hi, I have bought an NC 750 X, 2015 from bridge, back in November, it has an SP engineering can on it, do you think it would benefit from a decat pipe? Thanks. 😎🏍👍😀
Yes I agree with All the gear, All the time but I got heat exhaustion trying to do my CBT in 27 C heat and had to abandon it, so occasionally if you're going slow, it's your own personal decision, I think.
@Lily Northover getting on and off the bike 10 times to get the shots and walking over to the camera was horrible. How has the exhaust held up? Any issues with the engine running lean? Is the bike throwing any codes? I know that black widow claims that no modification is needed. Just trying to see from your perspective, thanks.
@@exeterrider I'm going to have a look at the website now, just finished installing the Innovv K5 camera system on my NC, this will probably be my last upgrade before my new bike arrives.
I've just got a dct nc750x. I had a black widow with decat on my previous bike and liked the quality. How do you find the bike on longer runs when you are holding the revs at motorway speed? Have you tried the exhaust with the baffle removed yet?
Hi Ben, motorway is fine and not annoying, but it does start to get wearing when going up and down hills etc for over an hour. Gets on my nerves a bit, but I wouldn't go back. I've left the baffles in and not tried it without. Its loud enough 🔊😅🍻👍
Downside is on long journeys up and down hills it starts my tinitis off.. Manufacters will make any excuse to void warrantys.... I can't answer your question on that sorry to say you will have to ask your local dealer.
Yes you can! But from my experience from others , it will leave you wanting more. So i guess you could try the end can then if you want more then de-cat. Its all reversible whatever you do anyway.
@@exeterrider thanks for the answer ! CB650 is a nice bike but very much a small feeling bike and I think the NC will give you more ,and if you want to tour at any point then NC is the way to go. I am not fond of 4 cylinder engines anyway for road riding because they always want to be revved high, and you will eat gas compared to a 2 cylinder. You will want to move on from the 650 but not the NC. Its an old review but here is this one I made in the old days ruclips.net/video/9Z5kr7TYEc0/видео.html

Hiya mate, nice video thanks, Economy means a lot to me so can you tell me if there is any difference in miles per gallon with the new pipe fitted. Cheers.

@@paulegan7250 me too, someone said to me it should give me more low end and economy. I disagreed but it seems I read wrong. I've only done 100 miles since its been done mind so early days really.
I found this, perhaps someone may care to comment. Without a reconfigured engine management system, decatting can be extremely harmful to your vehicle. Without a catalyst and no back-pressure, the engine management system will try to recalculate the changes and allow more air into the engine. This can result in the engine fuel mixture becoming lean, meaning too much air and too little fuel. This can potentially lead to your engine overheating and engine failure. However, a simple ECU remap can solve this problem.
I get where you're coming from and I asked Black Widow about this. They have calibrated the can to a standard map so that's all looked after here. Mine dosent seem to be running to rich or lean and I think Im getting more. MPGs👍🏃
Congratulations on being able to make more noise! I hope everyone else will appreciate it as much as you, but I highly doubt it. Most people tend to hate other people's noise, did you consider that? I admit that it could have been far worse, but still, spending money on making unnecessary noise that bothers other people makes no sense to me. I own an NC750X myself with a stock exhaust. It makes all the noise I need, and my neighbors don't hate me, so I don't intend to change it.
Your right it's not that loud. And it does make drivers more aware of me which is a good thing. Some exhausts are silly, certainly when they take the balls out. This is just louder in a sensible way 👍. But yes I do consider others for sure
@@exeterrider Out of curiosity, what will happen, if you get stopped by the Police? If I were to get stopped in Denmark, where I live, with a conversion like yours, I would receive a hefty fine. Perhaps, perhaps not for excessive noise, but certainly for removing the catalytic converter, that's illegal here (and not really environmentally friendly either, is it?) What are the rules in the UK about that?
@@olethorhermansen5696 as long as the baffles are in then your good here noise wise. DB wise it will pass the Mot. (yearly legal l safety checks) So no issue here, but I know it would be a issue if I popped over to yours for a coffee😁👍
When your hopping on and off the bike for 2 hours getting shots for the video on. 25 degree plus heat, then it gets too hot. Got to be real about it and everyone understands this generally speaking. I was in a quiet spot doing a 100 metre fly past. On the way home I put all my gear on.
If I'm honest if people knew what goes into creating entertaining footage they would understand that 20 yards in a t-shirt isn't a problem. Plus if a grown man cant make his own decisions and needs examples set by someone they don't know, perhaps they shouldn't be riding on the public road. Just my opinion.

How has the exhaust held up? Any issues with the engine running lean? Is the bike throwing any codes? I know that black widow claims that no modification is needed. Just trying to see from your perspective, thanks.
Hi, no issues at all. No error codes and the engine still seems happy.
The sticker is peeling off, apart from that, it's all good.
Sorry forgot to mention this but how is the mileage before and after if you kept record, thanks!
@@dovydasseirys7316 Exactly the same, now differance...if anything I'm getting better milage because it has slightly more power.
Sounds great 👍
Thanks 👆👍
Uncomfortably tight....WHEYYYYYY😂
Your face when she fired up said it all mate
She sounds a million times better 🙂
I really enjoy riding it again. New lease of life 👍😉
Nice, I was looking at a Black widow myself
It puts a smile on your face Rob💯👍
@@exeterrider I'm going to have a look at the website now, just finished installing the Innovv K5 camera system on my NC, this will probably be my last upgrade before my new bike arrives.
Hi. Did you notice any difference in the bike's dynamic behavior, or was it just the noise level?
It feels like it has more, longer mid range power to me💪
@@exeterriderVery good 🫡🇵🇹
Looks good.. Out of interest, can the Black Widow emblem on the silencer be removed?
Yes it does👍🍻
@@exeterrider Does that mean the emblem on the exhaust can be removed?
@@wozza59 yes it's just a sticker 👍
@@exeterrider That's good to hear - thank you.
Has there been any down side, does this void warranty? Thanks great vid
Downside is on long journeys up and down hills it starts my tinitis off..
Manufacters will make any excuse to void warrantys.... I can't answer your question on that sorry to say you will have to ask your local dealer.
Nice video with perfect explanations mate ! Is it possible to keep the cat and just replace the OEM silencer with a slip-on ? 👌✌️
Yes you can! But from my experience from others , it will leave you wanting more. So i guess you could try the end can then if you want more then de-cat. Its all reversible whatever you do anyway.
@@exeterrider thanks for the answer ! I don't have that bike yet, I have a CB650R 2022 but planning on buying a NC750X to commute ( gas prices rising in France makes me thinking about fuel consumption now 😂) can you compare it to the cb650r in terms of position ?( If you ever tried it obviously)
Ride safe ! ✌️
Thanks for video. Inspired me to do same
Thanks Chris, I don't regret changing mine, around town is alot of fun, although it can get wearing on longer trips although I wear ear plugs and it's no issue then 👍🍻I say it's worth the money.
Cheers 🍺
Any problems with MOT or insurance? Full exhaust or can only? Tempted for my street triple , twin can however 2009
No issues with insurance and I made them aware of the upgrade. Full exhaust here hence "de-cat" It works for me . great fun.
Very nice I fitted just the end can,but seeing yours tempted to buy the other half now,are you changing the air filter at all say K &N, been told its wise to do so what's your thoughts ?
On balence I don't think I'll gain much from a new filter. I think the decat part was about 120. So I say it's worth buying that part. It makes a big difference 💯👆
just been on their web site £134 now
@@tonywilliamson4393 worth it💯👍
How does it sound with just the end can?
Only just seen this sorry, Its a little flat TBH
How did the exhaust hold up since the video was posted? Thinking about buying this kit depending on how durable it is :)
It's very good! The black widow sticker is coming off, but no corrosion as yet. So its all good.
Did you get the bolt, dome washer and spacer in the box for the rear silencer? Or did you re use the original items?
To my memory, it was the original items, but I seen to remember they supplied a longer bolt but can't be sure, sorry.
OK, thanks anyway. All I got in the kit was the big strap to fit round the silencer. I've emailed them incase there has been an oversight
@@chriscuthbertson4931 more I think about it, I'm pretty sure I did use the original fixings
Dıd u improve more power / speed with the new setup
Great video!
Thanks Chris👍🙏
Would the decat pipe section be compatible with other brand slip on exhausts?
Not sure tbh, but black widow are very helpful if you give them a call.
Great vid, what a stunning exhaust and top instruction 😎👍
Thanks. Im really pleased with it 👍
Getting a cat delete in the us seems impossible. Import maybe?
Black widow are made in the UK to my knowledge 🇬🇧👍
Do you feel any power difference less power or more? In torque terms!
Very little, perhaps a little more power, but hardly anything!
Brilliant vid ER, It's great seeing someone else getting their hands dirty aswell! 👍🙂
I'm in the market for a end can for my CB500F & really struggling to decide, but had the same theory as you, regarding the longer the quieter & the Akra's are unpronounceable & waaaaay too dear! 👍🤣
Ha, is rather learn French than learn how to pronounce AK. Mine is still pretty loud but happy with it, I would want it any other way.
Go for it mate, it changes the whole feel of the bike 👍👍🏍️
How do you think the rear shock would be with a pillion and full back box for touring Europe?
Is a tight squeeze of day. And a uncomfortable pillion seat for such a big trip
Like everything, well done, BUT, as the bike is now illegal ( no catalytic ), should you ever need a BIG claim it might be dismissed! Sorry to be a spoilsport, not intentional I can assure you!
It's not illegal, only the manufacters have to abide by such rules, but yes, I need to update the insurance and tell them 👍
Hello Sir, how is the fuel consumption and performance after the upgrade? Would love to know co’z im also considering this… Thanks and ride safe❤
It's good! more low end torque (slight) and i seem to be getting slightly better economy according to the MPG moniter im getting 8 mpg more on average .
Ha ha sounds lovely,,,,my voge goes this week,(really not my cup of tea), and I’ve got a nc being delivered this week,, got a feeling I’m gonna have to Chuck one of these black widows on
was it the 500 you had Mark? yes the widows are cool!
@@exeterrider unfortunately no,,, I got one of the first 650dsx,s,,,, and just not my cup of tea,(massive understatement tbh), I’m hoping the nc750 means I can get back to enjoying bikes.
As long as it’ll get upto 85/90 ish I’ll be happy,, obviously I know the nc has it’s issues, but I think most of these can be sorted, whilst retaining its brilliance...
The many reviews seem to paint a very competent bike, which can be tweaked to be pretty damn good
@@marktaylor720 sorry to hear that Mark. As you probably saw the 650 feel short with the engine on the whole, but the fuelling as I mentioned ruined it.but the bike physically I thought was good. . I'm so pleased you're moving on to the nc, its not super exciting but I love mine and is the polar opposite of what you have been through with the 650.
Good Times are just around the corner again Mark. Stay in contact 🍻👍
@@exeterrider yeah absolutely,,,,I’m not sure if it’s the euro 5 spoiling the voge, or just a poor ecu, (I’ve followed the cf moto 890, that also seems to have poor fuelling), but the fuelling is dire,, and is absolutely spoiling what could be a half decent bike,, the service intervals are stupid too and was another nail in the bikes coffin for me.
Whats the update here Mark,,,,binned the 650?
Hiya mate, nice video thanks, Economy means a lot to me so can you tell me if there is any difference in miles per gallon with the new pipe fitted. Cheers.
It's slightly better in finding. I was getting around 75mpg but it's averaging 83 now. Perhaps it's because I've been using it mainly around town, either way I don't think I have lost any economy 👍🍻
@@exeterrider Thanks mate, Thats surprised me, cheers.
@@paulegan7250 me too, someone said to me it should give me more low end and economy. I disagreed but it seems I read wrong.
I've only done 100 miles since its been done mind so early days really.
The website states 14-22, any of you installed it on a 2021+ unit?
I was told by then at the time that it fits a 2021 plus, double check again with them though.
Excellent!
Thanks Bob. Very kind 👍🍻
Thanks Bob. Very kind 👍🍻
Dont you need to remap the ecu when removing the cat?
Black Widow have designed this around the stock map : )
E joyed your vid good commentary.ride safe
Thankyou, I enjoyed making it 🍻
sounds good ,, very harleyesque , very good price for all that kit ;;;
I am really pleased with it! puts a smile on my face when riding : )
MPGs👍🏃
Do you need to have it tuned after you replace can?
I asked Black Widow and they said no👍🍻
Is it necessary to modify the ECU?
No, Black widow designed the can around the stock map.
No lean fueling trouble then?
No seems fine to me, and smells ok!?
Sweeeeet!!!
😎😉
Job's a good'un!
It is, I'm really pleased with it. Thanks 👍
Did you keep the exhaust or was it too loud?
Kept it, and happier with it than with it. Eat plugs in longer rides is the key.
Have you run it without the baffle in ?
No it's loud enough as it is tbh
0:45 A-crap-o-vitch 😊
😁👍
sounds decent that
Thanks 😊👍
Any issues with the decat?
None at all 👍
Sounds like a bike now mate, not a scooter lol, shame there was no test without the baffle
Yes. I thought of it. But took ages to shoot and that's before the editing, so just wanted it done by then. Thanks mate, hope your well 👍
Which end can is this?
Same as the title, black widow
nice one fitted nice well thought out by the company.
Rolley. :)
Indeed! They make it really easy!
Sounds like a harley now, hehe
I hope not or Ive done it wrong 😂
(yearly legal l safety checks)
So no issue here, but I know it would be a issue if I popped over to yours for a coffee😁👍
Let those who ride decide.

Are you wearing your new invisible kevlar jacket and gloves ?
You should be setting an example to me/ inexperienced riders.
Exactly
That's not the point.
How long does it take to put a jacket and gloves on regardless of the temperature.
People will watch this vid and think of its ok for him its ok for me.
You have to think of the bigger picture.
@@SCOOPER3896 then those people shouldn't be able to spend time on a dangerous hobby if they are incapable of making their own decisions.

I've watched the borat movie but I've not once considered wearing a mankini
Noooo, don't remove the Cat, otherwise you are polluting a lot more.
Yes its like a private jet now. Is that Greta at the door?
@@exeterrider nah, not Greta but still :) I just got my own NC last month, will save some cash for a slip-on. But don't take the cat out, it has a lot of precious metals, (Pt, Pd, Rd) hence value. Plus it reduces NOx and oxidises CO, making your rides much cleaner.
