  • Vector Optics Lee Enfield Steel Mount.
Potentially one of the most exciting products for us milsurp fans, a genuinely affordable scope mount for the Lee Enfield No 4 variants to get you closer to building your own No 4 T / L42A1, just add a No 32.
This video is unboxing and first impressions.
No disclosure is required, I bought this product with my own money, I have no links with Vector Optics and, despite what some people have tried telling me recently, I am fully entitled to say what I think about it.

Great video. A few years back I converted an unfired #4 MKII Irish Contract rifle to a sniper. My late friend, a master ex-Special Forces gunsmith had to order diamond tipped drill bits to get through the receiver. He said it was the hardest steel he ever worked. The rifle is superbly accurate.

Thank you, much appreciated. I'm looking in to having one built, sadly not from an unfired rifle but hopefully from all good parts. Definitely not a job that I can do at home!

there is a video on youtube of a Swiss Sniper using an original WW 2 scope serup and original 1940 303 ammo hitting 9 inch targets at 700 yards. Amazing , he was amazed also.

Can you still you still use the iron sights thanks

The true No4 T and L42a1 had mk1 rear sights with the battle aperture removed.
The scope has to be removed to allow the sight to flip up so it can be used.
I think I've seen a couple that still had the battle aperture on the sight, but I don't know whether it can be seen through under the telescopic sight.
      Hope that helps.

Bit lazy of them to use metric, also a shame to drill and tap an original rifle for a non-original mount.
I've never had the opportunity to fire a NO.4, but have put a fair few rounds through an SMLE, which is a beauty to shoot.

I think the mount is aimed at Airsoft, there is a very good Airsoft No 4 T made by Ares and I reckon this is the mount they use. Hoping to get one at some point for the collection, will need to sell a kidney first.
The No 4 is a great rifle to shoot, I much prefer them over the SMLE.

Apologies but the translation function didn't work so I couldn't understand your question - something about binoculars which I don't think is the correct translation.

Hello, thank you it worked this time.
      Greetings from the UK.
Hope you don't mind this being a part reply, I'm writing it during a coffee break.
The mount in the video came from Vector Optics in China, I will put a link in the video description.
There are companies in the USA selling another copy of the mount along with a copy of the correct telescopic sight.
However please note that mount is specifically designed for the No32 Sniper scope and does not work properly with other telescopic sights.
It is also difficult to fit because of drilling and threading the side of the receiver.
The best option is probably going to be for you to use a "zero gunsmithing" type mount. Fultons, B Square and Armalon made them along with various other companies. Indeed I think Vector Optics make one too, if I find it I will also add a link to the video description - that will be later today after I finish work.
If you can't get anyone to ship to Iraq then a local gunsmith should be able to make you a copy of a zero gunsmith mount (Google images will bring up plenty of pictures to show how they work).
I think that is your best option so that you can have choice of many telescopic sights. Perhaps pair the mount with adjustable scope rings so that you can centre the scope easily and not run out of the adjustment if the mount is not perfect.
      Hope that helps you.
Hope you don't mind me not translating this reply to Arabic, I do not think Google translate will work correctly.
