I used to be able to beat my brother with the Wii Wheel while he used the Nunchuck combo, nowadays it’s the other way around thanks to him getting years of practice in while I was playing the more recent entries…
Yeah, 8 Deluxe is a way bigger game, but Wii is still a legendary Mario Kart title. Chaos is abound and rage is around with the based character roster, cool vehicles, and banger track selection. Unlocking everyone and everything for this game is insane, but it’s so damn satisfying seeing everything come together in the end
I’ve unlocked everything in this game about two or three times it’s a nightmare to do but yeah super satisfying and nostalgic
7:37 so basically, bikes can do wheelies (shake up), while karts can get orange sparks for longer drift boosts (a bit after blue sparks). However, some bikes (like the flane runner and mach bike) have an inside drift, and are used by most people.
Yeah, while some people may not like inside drift and prefer outside drift, inside drift is just objectively better. It's busted as hell

The differences between bikes and karts are as follows: Bikes are skinnier, which gives them a smaller hitbox. Bikes also have less drifting ability, so you can only get a blue mini turbo on a bike as opposed to an orange one on a kart, which lasts a bit longer. Now these next two are the important ones, bikes can wheelie which increases their top speed quite a bit. To wheelie flick the wiimote up or press up on the d pad on an actual controller. The other big one is inside drift. Inside drift is the best part of MKWII imo. Only 9 out of the 36 vehicles in the game have it and they are all bikes. Inside drift is a different style of drifting that is much, MUCH better than outside drift. It lets you take corners way faster and saves usually at least ten seconds per race. Inside drift combined with wheelies make bikes the superior vehicles in this game. The 9 bikes that have inside drift are as follows: the flame runner and the spear for heavyweights, the mach bike, the dolphin dasher, and the sneakster for middleweights, and the bullet bike, jet bubble, magikruser, and quacker for lightweights. Funky Kong in the flame runner is the best character-vehicle combination in the game. Inside drift combined with wheelies almost make karts entirely obsolete in this game and if you play this again, you all should pick an inside drifting bike as opposed to the shitty vehicles you picked this time. (except for Tom, he’s doing fine)

Nah, they should switch the engine class to be 50cc and switch back to automatic drift.
Something you should try next time, do the glitch where everyone can play as one character.
If you're wondering how to do it: select a character, deselect it and move, repeat for each person, leave the character menu then return.

7:36 bikes in mario kart wii are pretty much a different playstyle, the way you use them is much different and they even have their own gimmick that allows you to do a wheelie for extra speed at the cost of VERY VERY slight tilting
Mario Kart Wii! This is THE childhood game for me, I rocked the Wii Wheel. Seeing Sidequest struggle through the unfiltered chaos is very enjoyable 😆
About the bikes, there's two different kinds of bikes. There's inside drift and outside drift. Inside drift allows your bike to take tighter turns while outside drift takes wider ones. I'd highly reccomend inside drift, it can be a bit tricky to get the hang of at first, but it will definetly come in handy for some of the harder tracks in the game.
Sidequest playing a childhood classic, Now, that is how you start a Monday morning. MKWii is flawed for how unbalanced it is, but I'll always love it for many memories it had on me.
Also, I'm not surprised Danny isn't here, not sure if he will get use to the motion controls especially for how sensitive they are

As someone who grew up with this game, I could not comprehend playing MK without motion controls for years. I still do, because it isn't the same game otherwise.
You guys should use nunchucks they make it so much easier if you don’t have a Wii wheel or just can’t handle motion controls

you guys should play 2 player superstar saga. one player controls mario with a and the other luigi with b. you can do this easy on gamecubr with the gba slot and 2 controlers. that should be fun to do.

I am happy they brought back some of the fun wii courses in Mario kart deluxe
Bikes are way better because they drift better (good players never turn normally, they always drift to turn) and they let you wheelie. Cars only advantage is that they let you get orange mini-turbo's but bikes are still just so much better.
The bikes are definitely not bad especially the Mach bike and flame runner 💀

this is so much better than mario kart 8 imo, and always will be, the unforgiving nature of this game is what made the game for me, which is why I despise how forgiving 8 is.
