i dont know you but i love you you just saved the lives of a laptop, an interface, a set of headphones, and a mouse all purchased within the last 2 weeks
Thank you! This was a very helpful video for learning how to comp! Just the right length and amount of information to understand. I also learned that you can hit record after you hit play ... didn't know that!
Such a crucially informative video and i really like the pace of explanations, its not too fast or slow which makes it easy to learn as well as keeping attention! Thanks so much for sharing!
Yeah just gotta get the balance of 'to-the-point' but not too fast. It's great to hear that you appreciate the pace. Feedback like that is invaluable as I develop the channel. Thanks so much for watching!
Hi Becky, this was so easy to understand! Well done! I really appreciate the effort, and can't wait to see more videos from you. So far Ableton Live 11 is great, and so are you! Do you already have a tutorial on mixing vocals, or are you planning to make one? That would be really good to see, too. It would also be interesting to dive deeper into more detail on things like the "48V" on the interface, perhaps something for another video. Cheers and keep it up! One day I'd like to make videos like yours too :)
haha I see you found my vocal tutorial. I haven't done a tutorial on mixing vocals but I will add it to the list of ones to do. The 48v is phantom power, I guess that's heading more down the engineering route. Can definitely add that it for sure. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment and for the lovely feedback. Glad to have you here.
Hahahha!! “Consider subscribing!!”. I loved that random comment 😂🙌🏼 OMG!! That pencil is so useful ✏️ WOW, I am slowly getting there with the help of your videos. Still a long way to go but your teaching style gives me hope ☺️ Thanks so much for the awesome content, keep the tuts coming!!
I'm pretty late to this, and maybe you've already answered this in another video, but how are you recording video and audio live, at the same time? I want to record multiple instruments and combine it all into one video (probably in iMovie?), just wondering how you're doing that :) Great tutorial! I'm going to be using your guides to get this stuff recorded. Thank you!
Hold down on CTRL (pc) CMD (mac) and click on the record arms to select multiple record enables. You'll need to set the inputs according to your inputs on your audio interface.
Hey great informative video..I have a question regarding recordings..please answer if you see this..so my question is " I want to put effects like reverb while recording..for that i will have to click "in" monitoring..but whenever I click "in" monitoring in ableton..it gives me some milisecond latency..I did my buffer size lowest like 64samples...but it still gives me latency..I am recording these days with Off minotoring and using my interface monitoring but in this case I cant put reverb for my vocal recording .what should i do..please help..
great video, Im having an issue with playback in my headphones. I was doing a 2 mic section and i heard my voice on the left side and my wife on the right side doing playback but when we recording its normal. What is the problem? thank you anyone
Are the tracks set to stereo? You need to select mono source. One of the mics is input 1 and one is input 2. Try from the dropdown menu on the track to change the inputs.
I think I was turning up my volume so I could hear it. Edit : no sorry I was turning up the gain control on my audio interface to get a louder signal into the track.
I have followed your steps but I still can’t record music from Circuit Tracks. I have just connected usb and the outputs from Circuit Tracks to my input on my audio interface. Please help
Hello mam, i hope you and your family are safe, mam i have a question, i have connected my mic and interface, so when i record it works fine, but when i play the recorded audio there is no sound coming, actually i dont have pair of studio headphones which needs to be connect with audio inerf. so i have connected ext. speakers with my laptop and i want to listen the output in my speakers, what settings i need to do for that? please help
You might need to change your channel settings from IN to AUTO on the channel strip itself. If that doesn't work go to the Preferences and change the Audio output to the name of youe interface. Hope that fixes it for you!
@@BeckySaifMusic thanku mam for your reply. Mam but I don't get any option where I can change the settings so that I can hear my Recording through my ext. Speaker connected to my laptop
@@BeckySaifMusic okay mam no worries, mam just a last question, case -1 : using mic and interface with device class MME and case -2 : using mic and interface with device class ASIO, does both the cases gives different audio quality? Or same audio quality, or ASIO & MME dosnt affect audio quality ?
My one looks much different, the audio track is on the right side and there's a bunch of empty boxes. I want to make it look as simple as it is on your screen but I don't know how lol
Hi! I am a high school teacher, I want to use launchpad to record my voice with a few effects (very few), and give students commands like: Be silent!, Seat down, Open your chromebooks, attention to the attendance... etc.. also i want to allow a designated button to my NINJA students... (that means the best students..) I have NOOOOOO IDEIA how to set all that up! I did record my voice but there are some weird effects that i dont want. and no idea on how to record on the designated keys on the launchpad HELLLPPP! please!!!! HAHAHA

This is better than Abelton's own video.

Finally, just what I'm after. Thanks. I record live and most of the online tutorials are made by and for machine heads.
that was helpful, thankyou! I just bought ableton and i'm loving it so far
Amazing to hear. Thanks so much for your comment. I have a whole Ableton section on my channel so expect to see loads more on Ableton :)
I just got my scarlet solo 3rd gen. Got this and much more for free. I am exited to use it! Next will be the Apollo Twin X.
Glad you like them!

what theme do you use? its looks really good, i wasnt able to find it anywhere on your website or anything.
You know I can't actually remember. I'm not at my computer atm but you can find loads of themes for free online. Just search 'ableton skin'.
Thanks

Hello I just recently installed Ableton 11 but can't figure out how to get a music instrumental on Ableton is it possible to get mp3 beat on the daw?

I’m beginner but a longtime guitarist
well i learned something new.
yay!
How can I connect to your session?
What do you mean?
What is it that you're adjusting around 3:40?
I think I was turning up my volume so I could hear it. Edit : no sorry I was turning up the gain control on my audio interface to get a louder signal into the track.
2:47 do you know why you have to "play it first" to record? I had to spend 30 minutes to figure that out (by accident)... so difficult to use
that's how I do it, maybe there's another way. check the Ableton manual.
where is the gain plugin?
I have a question! so many!
Go!
awesome, it helps me a lot and u r so beautifull love u
she is smart

What the heck is the ext. in 1/2 option on a track for?
It's your inputs. So if you have a mic plugged in, here is where you would select it from the drop down menu.
