Damn the 90's were such a pimp time. We had great cartoons (Animaniacs, ANYTHING on Nick, Saturday Mornings on Fox and WB). We stayed out and went wherever and didn't have to worry. We had AMAZING movies also!
The trailer to Mortal Kombat movie from my childhood gives me chills and excited watching it since I was 8 years old. Brings me back memories how the old Mortal Kombat was cool. I still have this movie on vhs tape, no matter how cool the new one was the old one will never be outmatched and top the original.
I went to see Street Fighter in the cinema. It was a Saturday afternoon and it was (surprise surprise) filled with nothing but teenage boys. This trailer played before the film and everyone was like "Hell yeah!" One of my best memories.
Chris Wilson. I went to see Street Fighter in the cinemas in 1994 and it was exciting. The 1994 Street Fighter trailer played, when she went to see " The Mask" or" The Shadow" in the summer of 1994. I also, remember seeing the 1995 " Mighty Morphin Power Rangers The Movie starring, Jason David Frank, and Amy Jo Johnson. Street Fighter starred, Jean- Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia as Colonel Guile and General M. Bison. It was a commercial success and earned two Saturn awards. Raul Julia earning a Saturn award for best actor. When " Dumb and Dumber's 1994 trailer was shown they showed a trailer Of 1995's " Mortal Kombat" film. It was good as well. I didn't see it in theaters liike I did " Street Fighter". I have a copy of Mortal Kombat on DVD and a copy of Street Fighter on DVD as well.
What’s missing from the new trailer is the awesome music from the 95 trailer. I think a big part of what made the first movie successful is the soundtrack
@@randomkillerx2157 there's A LOT more missing from that sad piece of shit that the new movie is. Utter disappointment. Been waiting for decades and this is the shit they come out with?? Nothing beats this 95 classic
I did. 2021 trailer suffers from everything that super hero movies are used to: generic orchestral soundtrack, too much orange and blue and overall a feeling of style over substance.
The new movie will cater to the newer more current gen of mk fans but the original forever holds a place as being the most iconic and memorable video game movie period.
The original screenplay for the film was more faithful to the game, in that it had graphic violence and strong language making it a R rated script. However, the deal that the producers had with New Line Cinema included that they deliver a PG-13 movie to keep the film accessible to the target audience (mostly teenagers). For this film, Linden Ashby trained in Karate and Tae Kwon Do. Ashby had practiced martial arts before he was cast in the role. Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa who's Japanese American played Shang Tsung who's Chinese. Jean-Claude Van Damme turned down the role of Johnny Cage to do Street Fighter (1994). The character in the games was allegedly originally based on him.
I remember making Popcorn while they were showing Trailers of Movies that year and right when I saw this I ran to the Living Room just to see this one, My Brother and Cousins were telling me “Popcorn Ready!” I would just Shake my Head “OKay!” Lol Man those were some Good ass Times lol
1:27 I was looking for this scene in the movie for the longest and couldn’t find it, n started to think I imagined it, but here it is in the trailer! 😭
You got to understand back then a video game made into a movie was huge back then. Especially mk which was one of the most popular games at the time. Every 7-Eleven had a mk arcade machines. Yes kids you heard right, 7 eleven use to have arcade games.
love this movie! The stunts are GREAT! My favorite character is and has always been Liu Kang. He is amazing the actor that plays him... FLAWLESS Victory!
I know some leaked spoilers about the reboot. I think some people are still going to complain because of some of the changes they made. Heard the fight scenes are better than the original, though. But we'll just have to wait and see.
This isn't the original version of the trailer. The original version of the trailer had Jim Cummings says "Kombat Begins, August '95" at the end of the trailer.
Kano- Angela Randle Elgani Liu Kang- Jet Li Raiden- Valerie Tian Johnny Cage- Rachel Blakely Scorpion- DeeDee Magno Hall Sub Zero- HoYeon Jung Sonya- Miles Woodman Goro- Susie Park
This movie contains what is regarded as THE WORST LINE IN SCRIPTWRITING HISTORY : “There’s only one outcome to this! You die, or I die”❗️ Wasn’t the screenwriter given the memo about the film title⁉️ 💙🎬💚
I think it's better to focus on what the movie does right than what it does wrong. I know it isn't great and it really should have been R rated for the violence and gore, but consider what we do get in the film. We see following fights: Johnny Cage vs Scorpion, Johnny Cage vs Goro, Liu Kang vs Sub Zero, Liu Kang vs Reptile, Sonya vs Kano, and Liu Kang vs Shang Tsung. Plus we see many of their special moves (some better realized than others) and even a few fatalities (including Scorpion's "toasty" fatality, but it's not used as a fatality). We see Shang Tsung shape shift and we see Reptile used as a secret character who gets activated late in the story. Pretty good stuff all in all. Just enjoy it for what it is and you'll have fun with it.
New Line Cinema really wanted to promote this movie. Every VHS cassette I owned with a movie from New Line Cinema had this trailer. Although, I didn't actually watch the movie until it was available on Netflix
Dude even if your the actor and this is your characters theme song, dude, we need to write this somewhere ancient like in some caves some nerdy geologist finds it 100,000 years later.
I thought the 2021 movie was just fine. But personally, I think this movie is better. It’s just better structured better paced, there’s a lot more stand out performances and it doesn’t focus on some made-up-for-the-movie Gary stu character.
nothing better than being a kid in the 90s and watching mk vhs
@Davedeli Hunnam I'm also a proud 90s kid. I remember a lott that era including the mk vhs. I was born in '87.
My OGs , these kids today just don’t know , I really miss those days..
Yea watching it in the theater as a 10 year old was awesome
When i was a kid i tape recorded Mortal Kombat off TBS 🤣
Yeah man. Good days. Check out the new Mortal kombat 2021 trailer! Good upgrade man.
No matter how good the new 2021 movie is, I’m still going to love the original 1995 film. 😎
To me it’s a classic.
@@DragonOD_YT Lol. Thanks for the Korrection. 😆
Welp.
If they had 2021 special effects over the 1995 movie: Perfect. 😌
GOOD? :D

This trailer was so good, I remember rewinding Dumb and Dumber and The Mask all the way to make sure to see this.
🤣🤣🤣 Facts!!
It was a preview before Surf Ninjas also lol
WHY....does this 90s trailer go harder than the 2021 MK?....That character role call still lit AF
Kano….Liu Kang….Raiden….Johnny Cage….Scorpion….Sub Zero….Sonya….MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!!!
Combat Begins
Whenever I need to remember who were the original kharacters, my mind sings this part.
This trailer was played in the theater for anyone who saw "Dumb and Dumber" in the theater
And it blew our minds
And the VHS
The VHS Tape Of “FRIDAY” shows this trailer too

Liu Kang: "You can't run from me, Shang!"
Shang Tsung: "I don't need to run!"
They should have left that in the original cut.
Wish they'd left it in 😳
Classic man! Definitely a classic.

Wait that new trailer was sick, for the MK 2021, and to be fair, they did use the music from the original, like a orchestra remixed version of it!!
