  • Cross country time lapse from Hollywood CA to Chicago IL. 37 hours door to door. My Volvo V70R was equipped with a Valentine One Radar Detector, Speed Trap Waypointed Garmin, a dash mounted Canon HD Camcorder, and a 60gig Ipod. Sustained speeds of over 100mph were held for long stretches of the route, with the top speed being 130mph IN A STATION WAGON!!! Beautiful scenery and weather the whole way. The side trip to drive the Million Dollar Highway was well worth the extra 5 hours.

You should've labeled each state you arrived in

I've driven everywhere east of the Mississippi River, but never have gotten far on the western side of it. I've flown out there many times, however. One of these days, I'll drive cross country. So far, my longest is Chicago to Philadelphia - Pennsylvania is beautiful

Nice video! I did the LA to Chicago drive in 2008 also, took us 32 hours continuous. I was falling asleep driving the very long straights through Nebraska at night. Only thing that kept me awake were the deer warning signs.. LOL

@Antom1234 I cannot confirm nor deny that there is some mapping available for redlight cams, the V1 only failed me when I had the volume turned down because it was picking up a lot of random chatter...it did also pick up the cop...I failed technology, not the other way around. Smartphones are the 3rd part of an invisibility at speeds trifecta

Probably because he wanted to cover the more interesting land features. Nothing wrong with the plains but their isn't much geological diversity for vast swaths of that stretch of road. Just a guess...
