BBC1 stopped closing down for the night in the autumn of 1997 - they started handing over to BBC News 24 for the wee small hours! Nice to see a Public Information Film - didn't realise they'd been showing those again in the 90s, but I do remember BBC1 showing PIFs before closedowns in the late 80s!
The way I read the description, I thought it said 'Aardman animation style clock'... I;d hoped BBC One had used a one off claymation clock or something! Alas, no.
