I had the commander 3's put on my heritage yesterday. rode it around the block and vibration. No dunlop tyres available here due to shortages. complained to mechanic, 2 guys took it on test rides but I don't think they are telling me the whole story. They have a rack of new michelin's in the store and now I know why. Will be taking it back. Thanks for your review.
So from your old video a month ago to now, all Michelin did was get you set up with another tire from someone else. I just read all the reviews on the vibrations and literally canceled my order. I was so excited for some quality tires
That is correct. They are supposed to have a redesigned Commander 3 hitting the market soon, but I have not seen it yet nor can I speak to the availability. I have run Michelin products in the past with succes and was highly disappointed in this product too.
No it is not nor do they back their warranty. My dealer has had the same problem with two other riders coming in. All of us got denied and he no longer recommends them.
Michelin has agreed to replace a noisy 14 21 date code with a 28 22 date code. The sipes were changed in 13 22. Got to hand it to Michelin for the response.
oh man, I am currently experiencing the rhythmic vibration from my front end on my suzuki intruder 800 as well, the tires are approx. 4 months old and the front tire has some weird two cuts (perhaps even cracks) on the sidewall, went to two shops, both said 'yeah it probably is a dented rim', got a used front wheel in good shape as a replacement, picked up the bike from the shop today....bam, the same vibration at 80kmh + will probably replace the front tire, and hopefully that will get rid of the vibration.... [edit] looking at the bike....I also have Michelin Cmndr 3 with that 'flame' grip xD
Hi so you have Commander 2 and Dunlop on front wheel? Could you have Commander 3 on rear and same Dunlop on the front? Or they specifically wanted you to change to Commander 2?
The Commander 2 was previously installed on the rear wheel and was not changed as a result of the issue with the front tire. I would refer directly to Michelin or Dunlop for compatibility information.
So how do I hear this same process started the shop told me it was the tire and to replace them…. But mine have been nothing but vibration lots on the wheels for weights to balance yet all issues all day. What method did you use to contact Michelin and how soon did the company replace these for you after you filled warranty claim?

Sounds like the tire is probably defective too. Good luck, I hope you get it resolved!
@@motorcycleryder9489 I did change the front and vibration is reduced, by my rear is still CM3, did you change both or just the front?
@@agnidominik4693 I had a Commander 2 on the rear, so I didn't have an issue with vibration or noise. It's still in place
Update: Over 100 miles on the new tire and still no vibration!
What's the best way to ensure a vibe-free tire? Is it reasonable to pick a tire based on a particular build date (or newer)???
I went through that last year
Super frustrating!

The local bike shop contacted the Michelin rep on my behalf. The rep took care of the rest. I had no contact with Michelin personally. Good luck!
Was the Commander III a Cruiser or Touring tire?
It was a touring bike tire.
