Andy Hallet really was the perfect fit to play Lorne. He passed in 2009 due to a heart condition but he's an actor that I don't think could ever be beat
@@alexgraetzer It was a dental infection that had spread to his heart via his bloodstream, which is surprisingly common. It's why some insurance companies won't cover you for heart failure if you have had dental issues in the past
@@alexgraetzer They solved the dental issue years before he died but the infection had already reached his bloodstream. He was in and out of the hospital several times before it got him. Don't let dental infections linger.
The reaction of the reveal of Darla is EVERYTHING. I love the addition of Fred, she's amazing. Something that is funny in parallels is that the Scooby gang is mostly female and then the Angel crew is mostly male. Skip was such a fun twist on the guard type demon. The banter was fun.
This third season truly shines when it comes to love and found family-everyone is here, and it’s giving you all the friendships and relationships you could ever possibly want from the show. It’s everything you need and more. This is also the season where I settled on my favorite male and female Buffyverse characters: Wesley and Fred, who are also my favorite ship in the Buffyverse. I proudly consider myself one of their biggest fans, hehe. And it’s my second favorite season, right after seasons 2 and 5, which both hold the top spot as my ultimate favorites! 😭❤️
Absolutely Wesley and Fred are the best. Honestly, after watching Angel, I think Wesley has the best story of the buffyverse. Went from one of the most one dimensional characters to the best
@ YES OMG thank you for agreeing. I won’t say anything the guys haven’t seen yet because they do read the comments sometimes, but I will say this about Wesley without spoiling: He had the most complete character arc I’ve ever seen on television and started out as someone goofy but turned into the opposite as one of the most badass and misunderstood characters ever. He’s such an important asset to the team, and without his knowledge and expertise, the group wouldn’t have made it as far as they did. I still wish we got to see Buffy characters reacting to this new side of him. (Same goes for Cordelia omg I feel like it would’ve been so satisfying to see the Scoobies react to Team Angel’s growth and transformation as individuals. I personally prefer Angel sometimes, even if I consider Buffy as the better and more iconic show, though that’s just me being more into darker and more mature stories that Angel did so much better than Buffy. It’s a show about darkness and adulthood and second chances with redemption, whereas Buffy was more about the light and a coming of age story during your adolescence and young adult years.)
Amy Acker/WiniFRED joining the team/show was a brilliant move. 😍 Dennis is the best ghost! 👻 He cares about Cordy so much and it's so sweet. 🥹 Your reactions to Darla being pregnant was great! I love Julie Benz, and I'm glad that we get to see more of Darla. I also love Lila. 😅😂Stephanie Romanov told me, at PROPHECY by Rogue Events (pretty much a BtVS and ANGEL themed Convention) in Birmingham, that she loves playing evil/mean characters. She thought that they're much more fun, interesting and often more complex than the "good ones". 😈👌
I've binged all the Buffy and Angel reactions that you've posted so far and now I'm so sad that I have to wait to see the rest of the seasons. I love both of y'all's reactions and the discussions.
Just FYI your chapters on this upload are Redefinition/Blood Money from last season instead of these two episode titles. Keep up the awesome reactions!
I think if I spent five years living in a cave and being hunted like an animal, I would spend AT LEAST 3 months hiding in my room. Probably more. The scene with Skip is the kind of thing that made me love this show: a scary looking demon shows up, and is just like "Oh hey."
With episode 2, we get to see how far Team Angel has come in terms of bonding compared to the early seasons. And putting Cordelia in danger shows how far they were willing to go to save her by basically fighting people on the good side and breaking out the Convict.
I know I suggested for you guys to watch Xena next but I also had the thought of American Horror Story since I know that one is also on Hulu like Buffy/Angel (I'm not sure where you can possibly watch Xena... I haven't looked into it myself.). I am curious to hear your guy's theories as you'd watch through the seasons of that show since there are little bits here and there that connect to other seasons as the show is not linear and each season is it's own base story.
It's not a spoiler to say this now - the timelines given suggest that the season 3 premiere takes place about two months before the season 6 premiere. It's mentioned here that Buffy died about 3 months ago, but Spike tells the resurrected Buffy in 6x3 that she was dead for 147 days, which is just under 5 months. Hence the watch order.
In my opinion, Season 3 was peak Angel. The storyline was cohesive and intricate. There was amazing character development across the board. And the production value was very high. Season 4 had its moments. But 3 is hands down the best.
Happy "Angel" Friday evening with Sergio & Cody! 😊 Here we go with the start of season 3. 3x01: While still mourning Buffy, Angel goes up against a 18th century vampire from his past. Fred continues to adjust to being in LA. And Darla is back, and pregnant! 3x02: Angel must team up with Lila in order to save Cordelia from her painful visions. And we catch up with Darla in Central America. As she seeks answers about her pregnancy. Looking forward to the episode reactions for next week. 😊
So, the first episode of the season gave us some new vampire lore: • You can't stake a vampire who doesn't have a heart to stake. A vampire can survive having their heart surgically removed, albeit only for a short period of time, but during that time, said vampire is basically invincible. • Angel needs an invitation to enter Fred's room. Even though he owns the hotel and can go in and out of any other room, the one room that has a long-term human resident is one that he needs the invite for. • Yeah, it was straight up stated earlier that vampires couldn't have kids, what the f Aside from the new lore, I absolutely admire the season premiere. Years before Twilight came out, Angel had an episode specifically to deconstruct one of the most highly criticized aspects of the series - the glorification of codependence so strong that one no longer wants to live once their partner is gone - and literally uses the name of one of Twilight's main antagonists. The jabs are necessary, but the deconstruction is the important part.
I thought Heartthrob was a really strong opener. Again in this show we get to see Angel himself as a more richer character, as opposed to the one dimensional character he was in BTVS. A great scene on the subway train mirroring Spike's scene in BTVS episode Fool For Love with the Slayer from 1977. A startling reveal at the end with Darla being pregnant, the consequences of which will drive this Season insane! A good bit of comedy before that with Darla sucking the lime after biting man at the bar. Great comedy moment too when Angel tells Fred to get back in her room after trying to get her out of it before. S3 is great with some brilliant plot lines building, and of course we have the team growing now with 5 regulars at this point, giving the show much more scope.
In That Vision Thing we again these annoying peripheral characters from Wolfram & Heart trying to mess with Angel again, this time through Cordelia, and a somewhat strange ending in that Wolfram & Hart do kind of get what the wanted but Angel still saves the day and Cordelia. Darla's pregnancy of course drives this Season insane!
Some bts, this was the first season when the shows were on different networks and us fans didn’t even know if the characters from a show could be referenced in the other since it was a total shit show how Whedon left things with the WB, said fuck it, and took Buffy to UPN.
S3 baby! 3 month time jump? Angel fighting evil monks in a monastery, sounds about right 😂 Yes Winifred a series regular. Aww them being so happy Angel’s back. Cordy & the necklace 💀 Wes being excited to use his new weapons. Winifred is too adorable 💜 Cordy’s visions getting worse. Savage making the guy choose him or his girlfriend. Mystery vampire knowing Angelus. Dennis helping soothe Cordy is the best 💚 Dennis is a real one! More flashbacks. Hey Darla. James & Elizabeth. It’s been a while since we’ve seen a vamp burn. Cordy wanting to talk to Angel about Buffy 💜 Eww the doctor shedding his skin. Yay Lorne back where he belongs, singing on the stage 💚 Merle’s back too. James is pissed! Cordy trying to help Angel. He’s not dying? 🤯 Escaping into the sewers. Cordy sticking her tongue out at him 😂 Loving these action sequences & the Angel/Cordy team up. Angel using the man’s crutches as a weapon 😂 Damn James dropping some tough love. Cordy supporting Angel with the pep talk. I ADORE their friendship so much 💜 “I’m Cordelia, I don’t think. I know” 🙃 Darla PREGNANT?! What the absolute F?!! 🤯 I’ve never been so shook before! Is she about to show up to Angel’s like surprise you’re gonna be a daddy? A literal one now anyways 😂 Fred grading the guys from under the table 😂 Being super sensitive to Cordy. Wesley standing up to the W&H lawyer. Standing in front of the team to protect them. Damn that vision was INTENSE 😭 The claw marks showing up on Cordy! 🤯 Wesley calling him a dick 😂 Grandma & grandpa threw down! 🙌🏼 Time to see Lilah in charge. Fred & Cordy’s interaction. Another vision. Poor Cordelia 💔 Yes Fred bringing in the knowledge 🙌🏼 Angel getting the key. Using Lorne to try & trace the visions to the powers that be! Angel telling Cordy she’s what’s important 💚 Lilah how could you?! Not burning Cordy 😭 Angel giving Cordy the pep talk in this episode 💜 Her not wanting the visions anymore. Of course W&H is behind it. And baby Kal Penn too? Angel & Lilah’s tense convo. “Her name is Cordelia” & grabbing her by the throat, yes Angel 🙌🏼 Angel traveling to another demon dimension for a prison break. What could go wrong? And no weapons. Great start 😂 Love the casual talk with the guard, skip 💀 Yay releasing a super powerful bad guy. Very cloak & dagger exchange with the team. Healing Cordy 💚 The look that guy gave Angel tho. Hell yeah Angel taking out that guy they used to get to Cordy! 🙌🏼 “Don’t ever come at me through Cordelia again. You play that card a second time & I’ll kill you.” 🖤 Best scene ever! Cordy making Angel breakfast. “You are way more important than winning.” Darla visiting a shaman in Honduras. The dig at Angel not being a very good vampire. Damn it’s about to go down when she gets to LA. Especially since nobody knows he hooked up with Darla 😳 This was such a good episode showing how much everyone cares for Cordelia. Definitely feel like that prisoner will be the next big bad. Curious how this “baby” will tie into the story & what Lilah & W&H will get up to this season. Exciting start to season 3! Amazing reactions y’all 🖤
As you may have a slot free in 6 months after Buffy finishes, I would love for you guys to do a watch-through of "Once upon a Time" multi season programme. Whilst it's not strictly Horror, it does have some dark themes at times, and is more of a fantasy based on fairy tales. I think its something you could really get into.
3x01 This and many other reasons show why Aangel shouln't have detroyed The Ring of Amara. Agel needs an invite because Fred has traded one cave for another and considers it her home. Its not about Angel owning the hotel, but about Fred considering it a her living space. 3x02 I love how scared Lilah is of Angel when he's being a real threat towards her over coming at her through Cordelia.

I can still remember the scream I made when they revealed Darla at the end of

ah, Fred. She's a sweet ray of sunshine in the dark dark dark world of Angel
The Darla reaction was so real!!! 💀

While I agree with you, spoilers on the ship front.
@faureamour I would say ships don't always actually happen, your comment is more spoilery 🤷♀️
You’re so right. Andy Hallet was so amazing. I was so sad when he passed.
The Darla pregnancy arc is some of the best of Angel.
😢
No, absolutely no. I'm never like this arc.
@o7026 why?
@carson9359 Probably because the resulting character is not a fan favorite.
@MsCassidy23 that makes sense. I was just curious. Thanks
Did you recognize Fred from Cabin in the Woods?
If not, you guys need to see that
I think joss knew he’d be kicking charisma out of the show so he decided to bring in the character of Fred
Amy Acker/WiniFRED joining the team/show was a brilliant move. 😍

Gunn to Angel: “Thanks for the head, bro.”
My mind is not mature enough…

31:23 Holy shit. I just realized that Fred watched Passions
new season full of surprises!
Fun Fact: Kal Penn (Psycho-Hacker) is another of many actors that worked on Buffy first and was re-used here.
I think if I spent five years living in a cave and being hunted like an animal, I would spend AT LEAST 3 months hiding in my room. Probably more.

Lorne is life.

Angel's the closest we had of a Batman live action show.
Most shows would stretch out grief archs when a main character dies. And with Angel, they were able resolve things rather quickly.
Did u guys get the timmys down the well reference
40:54 welcome to season 3 boys

also after Buffy and/or Angel, could you react to Hannibal (the NBC series)? it's so so so good
Oh my god yes, one of the best series on TV ever and the best horror series period.
Breaking bad? Soprano? Game of thrones? Too cool shows.
So so good and visually stunning 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😎

Pregnancy arcs are not my favourite, but at least it’s very interesting, two vampires making a baby. And Fred is in the title card, yay!
